Somehow, my home button feels lose. When rubbing my finger over it, it feels playful. I remember holding the demo at the store and it was far tighter than on my phone. Anyone else having this issue?

I have two S4s (I accidentally ordered 2). The first one I opened had the same problem on the home button that you are talking about. The 2nd one I have has a firm button with no play. I am returning the original one as it is definitely defective.
Have the same issue on my international S4... It's so annoying but i don't want to return it for that reason
I have claimed for a replacement because of this. When I touch the home button it made a cracking noise. I currently use an app called Swipe home button and it works much better as I dont have to press the home button each time

I had the same cracking issue too. But I dont really care about it.. It doesnt really affect the usage of the button

Hey guys so I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my volume buttons are a bit loose and they rattle if I shake the phone. I tried tightening the screws on the back but it didn't do much. Is there any trick to make then fit better or just stop raddling?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Stop thinking about them is the best option. Unless they fall off or get compacted I wouldn't worry about them.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
yea... tightening the screws on the back of the phone would probably do little more than run the risk of stripping the threads or something. Generally, there isn't anything holding these types of buttons in place aside from the overall design of the phone being done to have them nicely seated in place. Chances of anything happening just because of wiggling buttons are slim, IMHO.
Buy an iPhone.
Haha sorry I had too

I had the same problem, you can actually pop out the volume button pretty easily by using your nail and pulling. All that's holding it in is a rubber piece under the volume button. Once I had it out I tried to realign the rubber piece on the volume rocker and popped it back into the phone. Now it no longer rattles.

I tried to do this... one question... what kind of nails do you have?!
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Lol short ones. Try using a credit card. You can't break it because its just rubber holding it in.

This should be covered under warranty, have you contacted the reseller.
No I haven't. What do you think ATT would do?

It still works. It was like that since day 1. Probably nothing big i just notice that the volume buttons are not that loosened+if i get another one they will give a refurbished and i do not want that.

...??? Nandroid?
Take it apart....set the power button back in its spot. The power button has a gel like button Behind it and sometimes the physical button can go past that. Anyways that's what I did. Just be careful when unscrewing the screws don't strip them or they will see it was tampered with if u do decide turn it in for warranty. And almost always its a refurb....that's why I said eff that

I almost never use it so is ok the way it is.
So whenever I try and use the s pen it sucks. If I hover over anything it acts like i selected it. I just want to know is there a way to disable this. I don't want the s pen to do anything unless I actually touch the screen with it.

Return it . My brobwas doing the same thing and he returned it

I believe that's the Airview feature of the S-Pen which you can disable from the S-Pen option settings.
It's a known problem.
Some people have taken the pen apart. Rather, i just slammed the pen on a hard surface a few times.
Fixed. I'm not joking. Try it. I promise you it will work

What, like throw it down flat, or stab the point onto a hard surface?
Had the same problem, returned the phone and got a new one.

too funny!
maybe they should put that in the user manual!!
Glad it's working for you. Cant wait to get mine on the 29th
Holy ****, it fixed mine. I dropped it with a little bit of force, and sure enough it quit messing up. I appreciate it. I was also about to return mine.
I ended up swapping my pen for a returned pen. Tapping the pen mostly fixed it but it still had a problem on a the right side of the screen where I would have to tap really hard to activate a button press.

Best troubleshooting for your S Pen
Thanks this method worked for me too!!! Gave it two gentle slams on the table and was good to go. LMAO!! I called samsung to report the issue and they had no way of helping me out, I will call them back and have them implement this technique into their troubleshooting steps.
S Pen Issue
Having a problem, wondering if its just me.. When i go to use S Note, the pen is automatically set to the eraser, and if i select the brush mode, its still using the eraser. I can only write if i press and hold the button on the s pen, then bring it close to the screen.. and then its like an etch a sketch where my lines would all be connected.. As soon as I take the s pen away from the screen and go to write again, its back on the eraser! any help would be greatly appreciated..- Matt
That's not how it's supposed to work. Maybe you have a defective device? Either way I would bring it back to T-Mobile to get it checked out. Are you running a custom rom?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Mine was hover selecting too but updated to the latest OTA, still had the issue. So I disabled and re-abled Air View and my problems were fixed. All has been good for a few days.
Yeah, it was working before but now its just all screwy, im waiting for my buddy who also has the Note 2 for tmo to come by im going to try his pen. This way I can figure out if its the pen or the phone. Thank you for letting me know that this isnt how its supposed to work!
Hello all,
I have an issue with my commuter case for my s3. Whenever I try to press the volume up or down, the button seems to miss. If I press it straight in it won't change the volume, but if I push the rubber towards the front of the case a bit, it works fine. Does anyone have a solution to this?

is it in place correctly.. i heard u have to massage the rubber into place in order to have aligned correctly. maybe the silicone stretched and doesnt align like it should. common issue with otterbox cases
I am having that problem with my power button. On top of that, the button is now tearing off. Great case, but the silicone does not hold up as well as I thought it would. And I have only had the case less than 7 months. Bad part is I purchased it from a shop in CT about 2 and a half hours from me. My suggestion is to not take it off and on so much. Any way, good luck.

Anyone notice the home key isnt as harsh as the s3 Hkey?
Feels more exposed, rather than flush like the s3 , ite way easier to press .Now I look back at it the home key was why I hated my s3... but then again I always went back to using a s3.
Good job samsung

I'm in full agreement with you on this one. I'm sure Samsung took notes from the feedback of users of the S3 and beefed up the home button as well as the power and volume keys. They all have a more clickey feel to them and I like it a lot better than on the S3. Good observation.
