Homekey feels looks responds better then s3 ever did - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Anyone notice the home key isnt as harsh as the s3 Hkey?
Feels more exposed, rather than flush like the s3 , ite way easier to press .Now I look back at it the home key was why I hated my s3... but then again I always went back to using a s3.
Good job samsung

I'm in full agreement with you on this one. I'm sure Samsung took notes from the feedback of users of the S3 and beefed up the home button as well as the power and volume keys. They all have a more clickey feel to them and I like it a lot better than on the S3. Good observation.

"Squishy" Power Button?

Does anyone else's power button feel a little different than the volume rocker? It's perfectly responsive, but it feels a little less "clicky" than the volume rocker. It seems to be a little more recessed. It's not a problem, I'm just wondering if everyone else's feels this way.

Yeah, mines the same way. That's probably how it was designed. The power button is most likely recessed to keep from waking the screen by accident - in pockets, ect.
Cool. Thanks a lot for the response. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have some type of latent defect that could cause problems down the road, especially with such an annoying warranty process.

Yes I feel the same too. Hope it last long though =\

Yeh, was wondering the same here. It works fine, just feels a little squishy and not as tactile as the volume rocker.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus NGP Semi-Rigid Soft Shell Case

I just got my GNex today and i picked up the NGP case, bought it on amazon, got the fastest shipping available, hoping to get it by tuesday, pics coming soon =D

if you want to buy it its cheaper on amazon

Only issue I have with this case is the power button is hard to press. I have tried to use the standard and extended battery and still have issues with it. The case itself is very rigid however making it a solid choice compared to the slightly looser feel of the Diztronic (Which I'm using right now). I would say if you can get past the power button, the case is a solid choice.

LTE here, That's good to hear though that it does loosen up over time. I just could not take the hassle of pressing the power button like that until it did though.
ahh well
I am thinking about getting this case.. but i am not sure how it fits the gsm version :/

This is the one problem I have with this case as well. The way I end up holding my hand to get good leverage to push the power button in causes me to often also hit the volume rocker with the other side of my hand. Other than that, great case.

I bought mine brand new (from Internet) and I always hate this phone because of the buttons. To have peace of mind, go in store and compare your phone with a new one.

Sigh... that's just the cheap build quality of the Galaxy S3. It's just a minor annoyance when I used my S3. I just got my S4 and let me tell you the buttons are much sturdier and better integrated. The back though, still feels rather cheap and flimsy. The S4 feels much, much, much lighter in the hand than the S3, like a feather.

The s4 is only 3 grams lighter, I honestly don't think it feels much, much, much lighter. Just saying. But yeah the buttons on the s4 are a bit better then the s3.

Home button loose?

Somehow, my home button feels lose. When rubbing my finger over it, it feels playful. I remember holding the demo at the store and it was far tighter than on my phone. Anyone else having this issue?

I have two S4s (I accidentally ordered 2). The first one I opened had the same problem on the home button that you are talking about. The 2nd one I have has a firm button with no play. I am returning the original one as it is definitely defective.
Have the same issue on my international S4... It's so annoying but i don't want to return it for that reason
I have claimed for a replacement because of this. When I touch the home button it made a cracking noise. I currently use an app called Swipe home button and it works much better as I dont have to press the home button each time

I had the same cracking issue too. But I dont really care about it.. It doesnt really affect the usage of the button

Do you use your stylus?

How much do you use, and for what do you use the stylus for?
I like having it, it's cool to show off. When I'm not at home I have my phone pin locked so unlocking the phone, pulling the stylus out and then activating whatever I want to use it for is to many steps.
I've tried! I've taken musician numbers, I tried to make a scrap book of stuff I wanted to go shopping for. As a whole, most of those neat things Samsung through it I have no use for. Multi-Window seems one step to much, s-pen window as well.
I thought the stylus would be great for playing retro dos games. Or even games like Shadowrun Returns, the stylus is a "mouse" and Shadowrun Returns does not support other input devices. I installed Fallout and the stylus as mouse didn't work the way I had hoped it would. Where you tap the screen and that's where you click.
To answer my question, I don't use it.
You?

Yep, I use it all the time. I use it in multi Window, s note, action memo. I use it for work taking notes, I use it for the shortcuts it gives instead of the cut and paste things. Instead I just tap drag and drop. It's so useful. Hell, I really don't even use pen and paper much anymore unless it's for signing stuff and at work I get stuff I have to sign of for sent down from a different floor, I sign it and send it back to them. No more having people run around to get things approved.
Not too often, but the stylus comes in really handy when taking screenshots and sharing them with friends.
Not at all, I prefer my fingers. LOL!
No my kid lost mine and it bugs the **** out of me that I can't figure out how to turn off the s-pen on top of the screen but besides that I wouldn't mind using my s-pen. Thanks In advance!!!

I got this phone to help teach myself to draw, two months later I can do a pretty good drawing of any cute lady on a bar napkin! Why would someone have this phone but not use the pen? You're paying a premium for that unique feature...

The premium was the size of the screen to me, not the pen. that was like extra. I use it occasionally, but mostly for making notations on screen captures. My hand writing is pretty bad and the pen does not help that.

But at release there were bigger/same size screens for less money...
The screen size made me get this phone too.
I purchased the Note 3 for the large high quality screen, the Snapdragon 800 processor, 3gb of RAM, SDcard and removable battery. I viewed the Spen as a bonus which, as it turns out, I almost never use for anything other than occasionally marking up photos.
I disagree that it's pointless to buy the N3 and not use the pen. At the time of purchase (Dec 2013), I wasn't aware of any other device that combined all of those specs into one package. At least, not that supported LTE on major carriers here in the US. The Z Ultra came close but was about the same price, and I really wanted that 3gb of RAM. Plus, after reading reviews, I was concerned that the Z ultra wasn't actually pocketable with normal clothing.
It comes in handy
I like to use it when I'm creating quick contact information or when I need to take a screenshot and edit (circle, whatever) the picture before sending it.
I use the pen more often than I thought I would. It has some really nifty features, such as pen hover gives some extra detail in some places, and action memo is fantastic. I thought I'd never use the pen when I first bought the device, but I really do like it.
