Low res images - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

So I have noticed that the photos in facebook are blurry and when using the web browser, does anyone know how to fix this I have tried just about every setting I can but no dice

Did you try re-installing the facebook app? i just looked at my fb via the app and chrome browser, they both look the same to me. blurry, yes, but acceptable. the image sizes are different from my s3, but that's expected due to the different screen resolutions.

[Q] Low-res pictures in browsers etc

Is there any settings that I could change in the DHD to display high-res pictures in browsers?
For example, go to any photo hosting sites, such as flickr, and see any random picture. If you zoom in a bit, the picture will turn blurry meaning that they are of low-res. But if you do the same on iphone4, the picture won't turn blurry if you zoom in a little.
I don't think it's only my phone since the display models all have the same problem. And it's not stock browser problem either because dolphin hd displays low-res pictures too.
I'm new too, hope there's someone who can help. Same with contact image, why are they too low quality?

strange i never experienced any at all.. mine are fine
Are you browsing on mobile data or wifi?
My previous network, T-Mobile, would compress every image that was served to me, even if I was on my laptop tethered from my phone.

GPU failing?

All of the sudden most images have horrible color transition (especially gradient images) and nothing is as sharp anymore. Tried factory reset but didn't fix it.
Anyone else have this happen? I just exchanged mine too and got a screen with no black blobs and minimal lines but now it's worse than my original phone.
What gives? Even HD video looks like crap now
Not rooted stock 2.3.5

After further testing everything appears fine in the gallery when I view an image, but as soon as I set wallpaper or watch video it's messed up looking..
Weird thing is it started after I updated widget locker.

I'm not sure what to tell you on the video, but as far as images go I initially had problems with images that were saved to my sd card. They looked terrible when I tried to set them as my wallpaper. I was able to go back to my laptop for some of the pictures and re-download them which fixed the problem.

Didn't make any difference. Even tried some of the walls that come with the phone, same problem.
Weird thing is when I view a wallpaper in the gallery,I can zoom in full screen size and it's flawless. As soon as I set it as a wallpaper it's slightly blurred with bad color transitions. YouTube videos that were formerly flawless look sub par. Wtf?

The wallpapers have nothing to do with the gpu so idk where you get off with that? You might need to do another exchange my sg2 displays wallpapers just fine. Maybe your youtube isn't on high quality most youtube videos look like crap on low quality. Try doing a factory reset. The only time the gpu should be in effect is when the 3d gallery is moving in its little animations. Are you sure your wallpapers are hpdi and high quality?

Well my question about the GPU was because the videos don't play crisp anymore. And yes that's on high quality, don't act like I'm a moron. All my wallpapers are extremely high quality images...and I do graphic design so please understand I'm telling you like it is. Maybe it's the screen going out I don't know, but I see more vertical and horizontal lines now than previously, images are choppier, lines are not smooth. If you would have read my posts you would see I stated that I did a FDR and it did not solve it.
I really think the widget locker update did something, it was right after that and the dev has acknowledged the issue, he was able to reproduce and is working on a fix.

[Q] Photo Sphere Panning On PC

I love the new photo sphere effect that comes with 4.2.
However, when you look at it on your pc it is just a panoramic jpg.
I have heard that you can upload it to Google+ and see the effect there.
Is there any offline PC application that you can use to view the panning effect?
You can get the 3d effect on Google + using Chrome browser on your cell phone.

Thanks for replying.
The problem isn't seeing it on my phone.
I can see it just fine in the Gallery.
The question is how do I see the same effect after I have taken it off my phone and onto my PC?
AFAIK you can only see it in the gallery, google plus, and Google maps. but i haven't really looked into any other method of viewing them.

Slow loading Gallery?

Hey, guys. Loving my Note II. This is actually my second one and they have both had this issue.
The Gallery loads super slow, especially when it's accessed through another app (such as when you're sending an MMS). I tried quickpic and it seems to be faster. I wonder if it has to do with the Picasam, Facebook, and Dropbox integration? I do have a lot of albums.
I haven't tried turning those off yet, but I like the idea of having access to my web albums through the gallery, so I'd rather not. However, the slow loading gallery is starting to drive me nuckign futs. Anyone else notice this? Any idea what causes it? Is it my web albums?
Thanks!
Yes, quickpic a lot faster.....

What class memory card do you have? I find the faster the card the faster they will load.

mine lags and slow loads as well. I absolutely hate the large thumbnails in the gallery that are not rendered clearly. They are all fuzzy/blurred until you select one picture and expand it.
I prefer quik pic also. My memory card is a Sansdisk ultra class ten 32 gb
If you have your Facebook pics synced with your gallery, you will immediately and without a doubt experience an extremely noticeable slow down in the your gallery performance.
When I got my Note II, I didn't immediately sync my Facebook to my gallery. The gallery flew at the speed of light. Eventually, I synced my Facebook photos so they would show up in my gallery. BIG MISTAKE! Immediately, I noticed an extreme slow down. Before, if I wanted to change my static wallpaper to a photo from my gallery, it would be fast and effortless. After the FB sync, it would literally take many many many seconds before my gallery would fully load to the point where I could go through my different gallery photos. It wasn't immediately apparent to me what caused the performance lag, until other posters in a thread on XDA brought up the issue, and someone posted about FB syncing causing the lag. As soon as I removed the FB photo syncing, my gallery immediately reverted back to the amazingly fast speed it had before. I haven't had any issues since.
Fb and db sync makes gallery unusable. Have to wait a minute or two before able scroll through, otherwise it would jump back to the selected folder.

sync.me does work very well, the facebook app's contact syncing is super low res.
oddly, haxsync didn't work for me, wasn't able to login to facebook with it
I used sync.me on my iphone previously and it works perfectly well but when i used it on my note 3 and then recently on the G3, the pictures are still super low res.
Is there any option on sync.me that allows high res syncing?

i didn't change any settings and just let it run. i will say when i open contact cards for the first time the image is lower res and then in a second or two it updates it to a high res image.
I've used Ubersync since my Incredible. Not sure why Facebook still doesn't have a high res sync option. If they are worried about server usage, they could make it check less frequently to compromise some.

I thought it had synched high res photos, however after opening my contacts they are low res.... ?
Then again, some other contacts have high res so don't know.
Update: Have checked 1or 2of my contacts on Facebook and see that they have low res profile photos, so it looks like sync.me is working correctly, just that people put low res profile pics!

Use ubersync for sure
Problem with ubersync is it doesn't allow me to custom some contact's photos. There are some that I don't want to use the Facebook profile.
