If you turn off the device and attach the fastboot cable, it should turn on and go right into fastboot mode.
Once you are in fastboot mode, attach standard cable and execute fastboot commands or script.
Edit: you can also try this tool:

Bricked Device

Hi guys
Never thought it would happen to me but looks like I've done it for sure this time.
I was trying to flash a jelly bean rom when it started doing infinite reboots.
I thought no problem, will just reboot into recovery, flash boot.img then flash an older rom I had stored on there.
Trouble is it won't go into recovery, you seen the screen for about a second and the device restarts, there appears no way to get into recovery.
I can get into the bootloader but that is it. It looks like I can't even power the device down because when I do it decides to start rebooting.
If you can talk me out of this one I'd be very grateful.
:crying:
Try flashing the recovery through fastboot.

When I try that it just says 'waiting for device' from the command prompt.
The red fastboot usb text is showing
It doesn't look like I can flash recovery, it just says waiting for device. Not good.
Update;
I've re flashed recovery but when I do it reboots the device and recovery attempts to load then it falls back to the infinite rebooting.

(Q) bricked kindle (not usual) (solved)

Hello guys.. I am not new to the kindle fire 1st generation... however this time its different.
I went from ICS back to stock... but it bricked in the process. I tried different things in the KFU and the KF unbrick utility.
no luck.. PC sees the KF and it installed the drivers. but KFU doesnt see it at all. I did instal the drivers that came with the KFU.
any ideas would be great. thanks
All little more specific instead of "it just bricked" did you notice everything different? Still have FFF? Try to see it in fast boot?
sometimes in very cases, KFU will say that the device is offline but in fact if you try to do one of the options, it will end up working.
and yes, a little more info would be helpful
Just stuck at the KF stock logo... i cant get it into fastboot. (I have next to 0 xp with adb, i usually use kfu) I have restored my kindle to stock before... and bricked it many times. But everything that worked for me before doesnt anymore. I suspect it might be a driver issue. (Being i am using a different PC than last time)

Status: Online; Boot: UNKNOWN???? Help!!!!!!

I run KFU and it tells me that the Status is online, but the boot is unknown. Would that have anything to do with the fact that it is already rooted? If not, how can I get it to 4000, so that I can install the recovery and other items?

Soft Brick

Hey,
Hopefully you guys can give me some help with the problem ive been having,
My nexus 5 is stuck in bootloop, i can get into the bootloader and the lockstate is unlocked but no custom recovery is appearing like it used to. I tried flashing using ADB but my phone doesn't show up as a device on my pc.
i have tried to wipe the cache ect and it comes up with "E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
I only really know the basics of this stuff (only ever used the basic stuff to root and flash my phone)
Sounds like debugging is not enabled.

That's only necessary for ADB when booted into Android. Not required when using it from recovery. Anyway, that's irrelevant. The op should be using fastboot in bootloader mode.

You should be using fastboot then. I suspect you were, but like so many, erroneously called it ADB.

You need to take Android 101 again. ADB doesn't work when in the bootloader. It works when booted and in recovery.
There are a few potential fixes and a for-damn-sure one. Were you an a custom rom when the bootloop occurred? Rooted stock? More info please...

I don't think that works.
I also have the same problem and when I do that, it errors as "FAILED (remote: device is locked. Cannot flash images)"
Is there a way to unlock bricked device??

Wiped First Gen Kindle Fire now its stuck in a boot loop with force close errors

I bought a kindle fire second hand that had Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on it and i went to reset it back to the factory settings by downloading the newest Kindle software and following instructions online. It had TWRP as the loader on it and now when I use the KFU it will not let me change the boot mode (says it is unknown). No matter what I do the Kindle will not get out of the boot loop. installing stock is a little tricky
because it reinstalls stock recovery & bootloader, so no twrp or fff
you need to factory reset in twrp before rebooting
if doesn't boot to stock rom, you need a fastboot cable
