Yes it does happen to me a lot of times. And, the music still does not display after 2hours++. Anyway, for your problem, you may want to restart your phone.

Are the files that aren't showing ones you've downloaded through Google Play? If so you need to use their music app.
EDIT: Another thing to look for in your file explorer: is there a ".nomedia" file in the folder (or any higher level folders) where the music is at? Those block the stock music player and gallery for looking for images/music in the folder it's located in AND any of the sub-folders.

I alreqdy knew if nothing worked this is the last option fr me as it is I was thinking to go to complete stock and then again installing custom Rom...
Only ics having this type problem for all company stock Rom's. You don't need do to factory reset
1) Just simply remove some extra installed applications
2) Make sure your music folder dont have hidden ".nomedia" file. If its available means media scanner not scanning that folder.
3) After mounting the sdcard dont run the music player immediately, scanning will take some times for scan full memory card. Check running applications details "media" process. After successfull scannig process will be closed automatically. Then start the music player.
Because I used this method in my xperia tipo dual

If I'v understood correctly, you want a widget to contol Spotify from the homescreens?
Spotify has its own widget. It's installed automatically when you install Spotify.
Spotify includes a widget when you download the app.

It's excellent, but still doesn't have playlist folders.
You can download it here.
It includes "extreme" quality streaming/saving (for offline access). It's much neater to use. It's now just as good (albeit quite simple) as an ordinary music player on Android.
Get a trial and see if you like it?
Also, relevant to this thread, it doesn't seem to have come with a widget!

How do you get it to show as a lockscreen widget? Use Spotify a lot but not noticed this.
Have you installed the ics version, its only available from the spotify blog, not the play store. I didn't enable anything it just started working, though I am convinced it didn't work right off the bat.

Thanks. I completely missed this release. I've been using normal spotify on the one x without any problems though (aside from occasional sound glitches when beats was turned on). Hopefully they have finally added landscape mode..

is there a generic way of enabling the music widget on the lock screen that i am missing ?

Try this and see if it works: copy the name of that thumbdata3, delete it and create a folder and rename that folder with the name of the thumbdata3 file you have copied. I think that will avoid the creation of another thumbdata3 file.
try the method suggested by pepoluan in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37426857#post37426857
or you can also do:
--> delete .thumbnails folder
--> create a blank file name it .thumbnails
--> set permission to to 055

I didn't see any thumbnails when I opened a gallery and loading of them was very slow. The same was about viewing pictures in gallery - there were no pictures at first and loading of each other photo was slow. But now it's really getting better. I think, it will be OK in a couple of days.

When you do the procedure that Pepoluan shared it deletes all of your existing thumbnails as well as the ever-increasing .thumbdata files. After you have followed his instructions and rebooted, your phone will have to recreate all of the thumbnails for all images on your phone (but not the huge thumbdata files) which is what causes the gallery to be a bit slow initially. Once it has done that your gallery should return to normal performance.
i also face the problem..

You can just install over a newer version? I thought you had to delete cached copies of the new one as well as the base APK before doing so? I flashed the black version one and no matter what I do, after installing the old one again, a phone restart brings it back to the new black one ): Tried the APK you posted, the old one stays until a phone reset, then it goes back to the new black one in the OP D:
And all "My Apps" seems to have disappeared, although it says Installed in the "All" tab.... ):

Don't know what happened but yesterday I started getting the "Storage space is running out" error. Surprised because I just not long ago formatted my internal memory and started over. Anyways I check and my .thumbnails folder is almost 5 GB! Anybody have any ideas how it could've gotten that big so soon or even why it would be.

If you download lots of apps?? I would just try and go through to delete unnecessary ones. A lot of apps download pictures into your thumbnail folder. Advertising stuff. Try getting an ad blocker app its helping me with that issue.

Yep! Just checked and it was almost 3GB again. I just deleted it but this time I checked to see what was in there and it looked like it took a small video of every movie/video file that I have stored on my phone & SD card. I guess it is for the Video player previews. Anyway to stop it from doing this and am I the only one having this problem?

Ok guys, it has nothing to do with any of this...
Its all related to Google.
Do this, go to settings, accounts, gmail.
Uncheck the sync Picasa albums.
Backout.
Then go to applications, all.
Scroll down to gallery an clear the cache.
With anyone using hangouts an sending pics, it caches every single one on your phone.

Of course that only works if you use (and sync) Picasa and hangouts. So ymmv
My thumbnail issue was definitely file manager related, switching to a filemanager that allowed me to manage its thumbnail cache fixed it.

Just delete the whole thing you wont loose nothing important. Save you time and space. Try "Root cleaner" I had 3.56gb of space. Bought the pro version and did a quick clean. Now I have 5Gb of space! What the app does it deletes all unnecessary files.

Well I'm still having trouble figuring out why it does this. I don't use Astro File Explorer, Picassa or Hangouts. I can't see this as a normal process because if left unchecked you would never have any internal storage or at least half or more would be swallowed up by these useless video clips.

Yeah I've been deleting it with no side effects it's just annoying that it keeps happening.
