Hi,
is it possible to unlock Sprints Version of the Optimus G? I found this offer:
h ttp://sim-unlock.net/simlock/LG/Optimus_G_LS970/
It is clear that the Sprint-ROM will maybe make some problems but is it possible in general?
thanks
Unlock it for use on what? Worldwide?
The short answer is No since it is only CDMA and not GSM.
It's a scam. They also list phones like the Sprint Evo, Sprint Evo Shift, Sprint Photon, Sprint Photon Q.
Thats incorrect

That only applied to the US. And it's getting (or got) reversed. We had the signatures required

Sprint uses cdma not comparable to csm. You need the supersonic which I think is the evo's gsm's mate.

You would have to flash it to the carrier can't remember how off the top of my head but it can be flashed to cricket and metro...
It can be flashed to pretty much any cdma network, cricket, straight talk, metro pcs, etc. It just cant be used on any major network like sprint, t-mobile, at&t, us cellular, etc. It sometimes requires a donor phone from the network your switching to, and always requires some time and technical knowledge to program it. There are also several online and mom and pop phone shops that will do it for you for a fee of anywhere from $50 to a $100.
Thanks for your help. I'm selling my Dinc and it was asked if it could be done.
Thanks again

It can be used on Page Plus without flashing anything, FWIW.
Because Page Plus is Verizon basically.

Hard to pass up but would one be able to unlock root and use with cspire ? My gf needs a device at cspire and I don't need two .....you'd have to live in ms to understand but cspire is really strong here I.e. I could sell her on the phone but not the sprint service....

While I think the move is likely DT positioning T-mo as public to be able to divest at will, I also hope the combined spectrum can bring pain(competition) to Verizon and AT&T they need to suffer and do more for the consumer.
I'm sick of sprint speeds. And I don't want to fork out another 200 for a Verizon phone. Any way to flash this phone to work on Verizon?

you wont get there permission because they wont make money, they'll offer you an airwave those POS's lol.
you do it by doing a prl update but there's some tweaking that needs to be done, etc... there are some threads not specifically on the phone but cheack out the epic 4g forums keyboard not ET4G
