Sprint uses cdma not comparable to csm. You need the supersonic which I think is the evo's gsm's mate.

I'm using the xda app so the search isn't really perfect I looked and couldn't find anything but I have a quick question... can it be unlocked to att? And if so what would I use to root it and unlock the bootloader with s off? I root other things just never a Verizon phone and I know they differ sometimes :/ so either explanation or links would be awesome thanks again

Call Verizon for the unlock code.

Is that the only way or is there an unlock method through the bootloader/rooting?

It can either be unlocked via clip or get the code from verizon. 3G won't work just a heads up though.
I only have edge where I live and am usually on wifi anyway so not much of a problem for me but may you explain what clip is?

This is a xtc clip. It's a piece of hardware that unlocks your device.

This phone will never support voice+data(1x/3g)
