wouldn't you need the s pen in order to really take advantage of that app

im really interested in the getting the camera apk to work. everytime i try to install it just ends up telling me it couldnt be installed.

It installed just fine without having to push it, after a reboot it showed up and has been working fine for me.
The first time I downloaded it I was having the same issues as you though.

If I tell s voice to navigate to something, it works fine. If I ask it to find a store or location then it will load on a black screen and eventually FC.
I know there is no support since these are pulled from an unreleased phone, but tht I would share my experience.

to the OP can you upload the S memo apk by itself so we dont have to download all 300mb...

Am on a 4.0.4 ROM...odexed...running FE16 stock kernel...
am getting FC AFTER S-Voice completes an action ie "turn off wifi" then it'll go unresponsive...and then FC.

This is the SMemo.apk, SMemoProvider.apk, and the related odex files. Enjoy.
I couldn't get SMemo to work with my E4GT on CM9 a4. The APK may need to be modified for our DPI or something. I'm going to poke around and see if I can't figure it out.
UPDATE: After poking around, I have found that the SMemo.apk uses the TW libraries, so those of us on AOSP ROMs are SOL when it comes to using the SMemo app. Anyone on a 4.0.4 TW ROM should be able to run SMemo by pushing the apk and the SMemoProvider apk to /system/app.

Hey guys, I really liked the facebook emojis so I figured I'd compile the apk with those rather than the standard ones.
1:Download
2:Use a root file explorer, go to /system/app and rename your current mms.apk to mms.apk.bak
3:Copy the modified mms.apk that you downloaded and paste it in /system/app
4:Change your permissions to rw-r--r--
5:Reboot and enjoy

i hate those android faces too, cant tell what they are... here's the MMS.apk i use, it has the original emojis and also the optional quick emoji button. works great on cm10.1:good:

Only if they have the same mod. If not, then they'll see what they're system files have for those images.

How to side load
1. Download apk
2. Using root explorer, navigate to sd card/download
3. Copy the apk
4. Navigate to system/app
5. Mount the system by clicking the button till it says this
6. Paste the apk there. If you have a stock app in there are ready, rename the stock apk to the extent '.bak' ending before to paste the new one
7. Paste the new one and fix permissions to this
8. Reboot

I hope its okay to ask this haha, I'm about to release a port of an ROM which uses the stock framework etc, I'm pretty sure this would work the same with the stock apks, anyway is there a tut around?

Not sure what your asking. The apps are stock except for some images and icon. If you want them stock, swap out the icons. As far as a tut, not sure. It took a bunch of use to do this.

I am getting duplicate notifications, one for Hangouts, and one for Talk, although the Talk one wont open...is anyone else having this issue?

Go into system/apps and delete talk.apk. I had the same issue until I did that.

Which method would you recommend for this? Titanium backup?

I'm finding the new Hangouts to be very aesthetically pleasing. However, my only gripes with the application is that there is no indicator of who is online/offline and no ability to sign out. Otherwise, I really love what Google is doing / planning to do.

Hard time theming it too, they have done something weird to it and everytime I try, then install it, it either cannot connect or it FC's.
Recompiling also threw some weird errors that I fixed, but still cannot get a clean/functioning install.

This is a 4.4 CM11 MMS I themed up, I've tested this APK and everything is working perfectly on Kit Kat (including google edition) This will work on any 4.4 build for any phone so if you are coming to this post from another device this APK should work perfectly fine for you too

not even close to the same as the playstore

8sms is a ported official Google 4.3 apk this is 4.3 since kit kat has no longer mms apk since is now hangout. Cm 11 uses 4.3 but still great job I installed this over 8sms

It's not working for me :/
Edit: I figured what was wrong. Even though the permissions were set correctly, I also had to make sure the ownership was both set to root and then had to fix permissions.
At first, it was Rw--r----. I changed that to Rw--r--r and then went into ownership and made sure it said root, root. Fix permissions, reboot and done. Just letting anyone know how I did it so nobody got stumped like me.

Any Dialer or Contact inverted app as well?

This is great work. I was curious about the call icon in the notification list. It's white while reply and read are blue. Can this be changed?
