Go into system/apps and delete talk.apk. I had the same issue until I did that.

Which method would you recommend for this? Titanium backup?
I'm finding the new Hangouts to be very aesthetically pleasing. However, my only gripes with the application is that there is no indicator of who is online/offline and no ability to sign out. Otherwise, I really love what Google is doing / planning to do.

Hard time theming it too, they have done something weird to it and everytime I try, then install it, it either cannot connect or it FC's.
Recompiling also threw some weird errors that I fixed, but still cannot get a clean/functioning install.

It installed just fine without having to push it, after a reboot it showed up and has been working fine for me.
The first time I downloaded it I was having the same issues as you though.

If I tell s voice to navigate to something, it works fine. If I ask it to find a store or location then it will load on a black screen and eventually FC.
I know there is no support since these are pulled from an unreleased phone, but tht I would share my experience.
to the OP can you upload the S memo apk by itself so we dont have to download all 300mb...

This is the SMemo.apk, SMemoProvider.apk, and the related odex files. Enjoy.
I couldn't get SMemo to work with my E4GT on CM9 a4. The APK may need to be modified for our DPI or something. I'm going to poke around and see if I can't figure it out.
UPDATE: After poking around, I have found that the SMemo.apk uses the TW libraries, so those of us on AOSP ROMs are SOL when it comes to using the SMemo app. Anyone on a 4.0.4 TW ROM should be able to run SMemo by pushing the apk and the SMemoProvider apk to /system/app.
I can't live without this. Been using on my SGS3 since day 1. Works perfectly.

Newb question... i read on another thread that you install apk files by just emailing apk to yourself and installing it that way. ive done that but after its done reading/trying to install it gives me PARSE ERROR- THERE IS A PROBLEM PARSING THE PACKAGE.

This is straight from a Nexus so you know it's pure Google and nothing is added or tweaked. The market versions have had changes made and so I'm a little hesitant using them unless I have to

Have you considered using Flick Note synchronized with Simple Note on the web and Resoph Notes on your desktop? Then you can synch Resoph notes with dropbox and you will have a fully redundant note taking system.

Hey I didn't see a better snote app in the forum you posted, only alternatives like free note and papyrus, personally right now I'm using color note, but snote looks the best from what I can see. I posted a link to dl snote in the OP, hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation

mod for 240 dpi, so it looks too "big" for our screens....I uninstalled it.

Its for the s note, sounds like both versions of the app are having the same issue with the dpi. I'm hoping that someone on here knows how to fix it, our at least tell me how to fix it.

I tried this on Bulletproof ROM (odexed 4.0.4) and always get "Unfortunately, S Note has stopped." All permissions set correctly, tried clearing dalvik and fixing permissions in TWRP no luck.

I've themed every app I have, so now I'll leave it up to you. What app or apps do you want themed. I'll take a few that get the most votes and in a few days, theme it. It most be a data app. That means they get installed in your data/app folder and are in the play store, no system/apps. No games or dialers/contact apps.

That would be easy to do if all the apps don't run the scripts in circles getting to the color. That's a good idea though. Just make them point to a system color, not a color defined in the app it's self. That's the opposite to what I did

Yep, send me a link to where you uploaded it to. I did get one, but Gtalk is areal pain in the ars.

+1 for GTALK also, I would definitley want something like your facebook NEON PINK, Purple Nurple or something like that. Im into that 80s Neon color theme right now.
Awesome Note would be a great one to have themed even if just slightly to get rid of all the white and red widgets.
Just a thought, dont know how many people actually use it though.
+1 on all the afformentioned apps. Definitely gtalk would be cool, hell any app you have dine so far is cool. :thumbup:

The stock "My Files" would be nice. I had a modified one but lost it in a flash somehow.
And have u tried any stock mms modifications?
Other than that I'm running your apps for everything else.
