[Q] Google Play 4.0.27 Issue - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I recently Rooted my wife Bell Samsung Galaxy S3 using the directions on here and when the recent update for Google Play came out her's didn't update it stayed on 3.9.?.? But my S3 from Rogers (also rooted same way) did update to 4.0.27. I can manually update by downloading the apk but I am running stock rom and want it to do everything itself like its supposed to.
Please Help

Be patient. It will usually happen when an app updates.

I will try to force it to update an app and see if it works
Thanks

I tryed to force it by uninstalling updates then letting it reinstall them and nothing happened its still at the manual download of 4.0.26

Let it happen when it needs to or just install the apk.

Will installing the apk manually cause any issues with future auto updates (disable feature)

Nexus won't retrieve ota update for JB?

Hey all,
I've been continually checking my Nexus for the JB update and it keeps saying that my software is up to date. Its annoying. I'm rooted and unlocked but I'm running the stock rom from the Google Play Store where I ordered it. I even went as far as to restore the original recovery. Anyone have any ideas?

Right, I have the GSM model. From the Google Play Store. Bought it a few weeks back. Unlocked and all.

Go to: Settings - Apps - All - Google Services Framework. Hit "Clear data" and then check for the update again. I had to do it 7 times to get the update.

You should not be rooted and should have XXLA2 Radio and latest bootloader

[Q] Will OTA be successful after freezing carrier bloat apps on current OS?

Hi All,
*please reference phone stats in signature*
I have just frozen some carrier(Rogers) bloat apps in my device using Titanium Backup PRO as to try and improve battery life. My carrier is scheduled to roll out the Jelly Bean OTA for the i747M SGS3 devices at the end of this month. Since I froze these apps, will that affect my OTA eligibility? Will my device detect the OTA and not install or just not detect it at all when it becomes available?
Thanks for any and all replies.
Yea, you need to unfreeze before the update.

How to prevent play store update of certain app?

I'm trying to figure out how to stop the play store from updating a certain app. Is that possible?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have no clue how.....?
Any guidance would be appreciated

Go to play app, click on the app you dont want to update automatically, there's going to be a check box somewhere towards the top, under the app images if im not mistaken. Uncheck allow automatic updating. Done.

I'm trying to prevent updating, period. Not auto update.

Disabling auto update prevents the app from updating itself. You have to manually prevent yourself from updating the app manually. I'm not certain that you can blacklist updates for an app the way I think you want to.
With Titanium Backup you can also detach the app from the Play Store

You have to be rooted. Not sure if you have to have the PRO version of TitaniumBackup or not. Anyway go to where you made your back up and find the app. Long press it and from the menu that pops up click Detach from Market.
go to your Google Play Settings and check Updated over Wi-Fi only.
this way you can update all the apps you want manually when you wish...
or just uncheck Auto-Update apps

Have you tried deleting cache/data, uninstalling updates and re installing the latest version ?
yeah definitely try clearing app data. or just install latest version on top of current version. link: http://d-h.st/CKf

I'm having the same issue, the market doesn't even recognize paid apps. I've tried uninstalling updates and wiping cache and data without success. Have even flashed different ROMs with no luck. Any new advice would be appreciated. Using toro with latest PAC ROM +golden kernel

Purchased Apps Failing after Google Play Svcs Update

I got a recent update to Google Play Services and now it appears that any purchased apps no longer work. I've noticed this on a number of ROMs so it's not a ROM issue.
I've wiped Dalvik/cache and even cleared data/cache for both Google Play Store and Google Play Services. Nothing seems to be making it work.
I wonder if anybody else has experienced this issue and (hopefully) have a fix for it?
Thanks.
Did you try Uninstall Updates from app manager?

Now, THIS is interesting... If I stay on stock kernel, I don't have a problem. As soon as I load KT's kernel (including the latest version), that's when I have a problem. It's only started after the last few CM updates.

I am on a stock rooted T889 I can't log in to play store. I did everything except whipping the phone and doesn't work.

You may want to search and inquire about this in the kernels thread. Maybe others have run into this.

Just fyi, this is the T999 forum, so whatever the cause/fix is here, may or may not help you. Make sure you check in your devices forum as well if you haven't already.

I wrote ktoonzes and sent him some logcats to the problem. Turned out he needed to update the Ramdisk in his kernel. All is good with the world now.
Right on! Thank for the update, and im glad you solved the problem!
