Nexus won't retrieve ota update for JB? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey all,
I've been continually checking my Nexus for the JB update and it keeps saying that my software is up to date. Its annoying. I'm rooted and unlocked but I'm running the stock rom from the Google Play Store where I ordered it. I even went as far as to restore the original recovery. Anyone have any ideas?

Right, I have the GSM model. From the Google Play Store. Bought it a few weeks back. Unlocked and all.

Go to: Settings - Apps - All - Google Services Framework. Hit "Clear data" and then check for the update again. I had to do it 7 times to get the update.

Gmail isn't compatible with Galaxy Nexus?

Anyone have any ideas why Gmail in the Market is saying it isn't compatible with my device?
I'm in Costa Rica for work but Market Enabler doesn't solve it.
Can you check Gmail on the market today?
I have the stock T-Mobile 4.0.2 just rooted, that's all.

Doesn't your phone already have Gmail on it...

Of course, but I need the market to download updates for the app!

The version in the market is different than the ICS version - you wouldn't want to install it on your GNex because it is older!
I'm sure Google will update it eventually to include the ICS compatibility, but for now, you have the latest and greatest version on your phone already.
Exactly, same is true of the YouTube and Voice Search App.

That's the same version that I have too so I think it is the latest version.
The Gmail app in the play store is the pre-3.0 version.
There's no update. The GMail included in ICS is of a higher version than that it the Play Store. Unless your Play Store says there is an update, there isn't one
I want to know if the Gmail app shows in the play store in a stock i9250 because it doesn't for me.

No it doesn't for the reason I posted earlier.

Did you not read what we said? lol. Its not in the Play Store, because the one included with ICS is a higher version than supported in the Store at the moment. You're effectively beyond up to date. You'll be notified when there's an update....
Lol sorry just got nervous my phone was recently stuck on boot up animation and had to factory reset and lost all pics.... then play movies wouldn't update and finally did so I got alil scared lol

This is how I got my update.

Go to apps
Scroll down to google framework
Clear data
Now go to location and services.
Check all 3 GPS and google services.
Accept google therms.
Now go to about and check for update.

This also worked perfectly on my takju. Thanks to OP.
I can confirm this. Followed the instructions and the JB 4.1.1 update showed up.

This worked for me too, but it crashed while updating in recovery. My phone is stock, and now when I try the trick again, I can't get the update...

Honestly I think the main thing is clearing the data and checking. People seem to be throwing in other steps that I didn't do, but who knows maybe its a different situation for others.
Plus we're going to start seeing a ton of threads with variations of this "trick".

well worked for my galaxy nexus 4.0.4, its now updating to 4.1 thx to op
This worked for me. I have been checking every five minutes for the last couple days, clearing Framework, restarting, using different networks, and as soon as a tried this I received the update. Another thing to note, I checked for the update right before I used this "trick" to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence and I was still receiving the dreaded "Phone up to date" or whatever. So for this to be a coincidence would be a pretty low probability.
Thanks OP.
Even if this didn't do anything, I got the update finally.

Worked beautifully! I now have Android 4.1.1.
One quick correction: Google Framework is Google Services Framework.
Also, until 13 July 11:28 P.M. Google will only permit you to install using WiFi.
I tried it worked then restored root with voodoo. I am forwarding this info to others. A lot do not know about this.
my other phone is Nokia maemo n900
I did your trick, it working for me. But when it installing I get this error ; E : signature verification failed
I only rooted en unlocked the bootloader..
Thanks

Google Wallet

I have an unrooted/unlocked (bought from Google Play) Galaxy Nexus running 4.1.1 (JRO03C) updated through the OTA, but it does not have Google Wallet. Everywhere I read about the features in 4.1, they mention Google Wallet, including their features page.
The app does not show up on the phone, and on the computer it says "This app is incompatible with your Samsung Galaxy Nexus."
Is this normal? Is it happening to anyone else?

Yea, I'm in the US
odd. If you bought it from the Google Play store it should be takju. I purchased mine a month ago and it's takju with wallet installed.
If you go to Google maps, settings > About > What's listed under Device?
I have UK version and I am in the us and gw downloads fine from playstore

If you need it I have the apk when it wasn't available foe my phone then see if it lets you update it

samsung yakju.
And @tdoughone I don't want to install it if its not from the app store since creditcard data is sensitive information.
Also: I bought it 1 day before it went off the market because of the lawsuit, I decided not to root it because 4.1.1 would be coming soon.
I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm incorrect but from I've read yakju is the International version where GW is not available. That's why I believe it isn't there.
If you want GW on it, I believe you'll need to flash it with a rom or install a takju image.
Wrong I have yakju and gw

Its legit I used it when it wasn't available for me

Thanks for correcting me td. Did you purchase yours from the Play Store as well with yakju?

HELP! Google Now has disappeared after upgrading to 4.2

I had Google Now working on my galaxy nexus 4.1.2 just fine for a few months until a couple of days ago when i decided to upgrade to 4.2. Now the google voice search is still there and i tried re-installing it but Google Now is not there anymore, and there is no option in settings that mentions enabling/activating google now.
My phone was always rooted, and i thought it may have something to do with the fact that my bootloader was unlocked, so i relocked it
anyone know whats going on?
thanks

Look up Google search in the play store. Does it show as installed? If not, download and install.

The Google Now settings are hidden on the search screen, lower right hand corner. I had this happen when I turned off Google now on an old device I was messing with, and it turned off on my active devices also. For some reason OS updates have triggered this from time to time also.
