only faux kernel betas allow OC
big warning OC is bad for the HOX given the thermal envelope
you are risking both you battery and processor if you OC
i know you are used to OC from other devices but those had headroom, it is not the case this time, T3 is operating at its max thermal capabilities on the HOX
You right, thank you.

It's not stupid and I'm dying to overclock my HOX also. Unfortunately Faux's kernels won't let me overclock on my phone, I'm going to name my first kid for whoever is the first to let us overclock this beast .
As already said it gets already hot enough, overclocking will kill it.
And I used to love overclocking on my Xperia Arc, overclocked it 60%
But I think the HOX isn't made for it

the snapdragon 2 on the Arc had a lot of headroom
the chipset is rated @ 1.5ghz stable!
not the case with T3 its milking the very maximum of the 40nm process
in other words Nvidia is OCing its T3 out of box because their chips are designed to survive massive amount of heat (sadly it doesnt mean the battery or other components would survive)
it is already Overclocked lol
sometimes you have to listen to the "science" of it and surrender
feel sorry for the kid
Why you need to overclock this beast. It is already an monster. Don't let it destroy.

It's fast enough already, leave the poor thing alone!
It's already running a fever!
I would actually like to underclock mine to keep heat down

I understand why people want to overclock. Why does someone tune a brand new sports car after all it is fast enough to reach the limit in no time.
What gets me is people posting "just leave it" "its fast enough". It's not your device and I'm sure they know its fast enough. Please those kinds of post really arnt needed.
As for the OC in faux's early (001bX) kernels overclocking was available although it was found there are 3 variants of the Tegra 3 SoC. And Asian variant, European and Australian variants. Each reacted differently to OC.
Taken from faux kerenel thread. Everything about OC'ing is from page 10~ to 45~ for anyone interested.

WHOA! You have ANOTHER variant for Tegra3 Wow... how many variants are there... I will try to give you an OC build for your variant...
So far there are 3 Tegra3 variants:
Variant 1: European -- So far not OC capable (boot loops)
Variant 2: Australian -- Status unknown.. just reported...
Variant 3: Asian (Non-Australian) -- OC capable @ 1.70 GHz (very stable)

If you're wondering id love to have the capability of overclocking doesn't mean ill be overclocked 24/7
EDIT: @Kris underclocking is available on every kernel something like setcpu or sys tuner will be all you need. Although if your looking to keep heat down there's a thread on XDA about an app called corecontrol (not the one on play store) that can limit the Tegra 3 to 2 cores. Another thing too look at for reducing heat is undervolting. Sys tuner is also capable of this. Currently I believe faux's kernel is the only kernel with true UV control

I use Faux's kernels and even though I have the Asian one that supposedly can be overclocked to 1,700, mine maxes out at 1,500 just like all of the other ones. Still the Faux kernel upped my quadrant speed from 4,700 to 5,000 and seems quicker so I still use it daily. I'm still waiting for the first kernel that can be overclocked .
Only the early kernels had OC it was removed to avoid bootloops in the euro and aus tegra3's the 003bx kernels don't have oc ability

[Q] Merruk Technology Kernel Pre 2.0 + Overclock to 900 Mhz?

Hi estimated community.
I wanted to know if i can apply the Overclock to 900 Mhz over the installed Merruk Technology Kernel Pre 2.0
I tought Merruk Kernel would overclock my phone to 1024 Mhz cause i see a picture of CPU Master showing it, but then realize than this actually dont do that, and stay in 832 Mhz.
Thats why i would like to know if i can do this overclock to 900 Mhz over the Merruk Kernel, it is compatible? Would it work good?
Ill be thanksfull with your answers
By the way, i dont think it cares cause it says its compatible with all roms, but im using ChobitsDigitalis v2 Reloaded.
this is the overclock im meaning http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629348
should i do it or keep it like it is... mmm

that's merruk 'bug'. nothing other 312mhz and 832mhz works. not 1ghz, not 900mhz. the reason why 900mhz (or 1ghz, i forgot) lag is not because instability like people's say. the reason is because cpu always working on 312mhz (but in display it's still show 900mhz/1ghz).

AnTuTu - What is your score on Defy+?

Hello everybody!
I'm here to ask you whats your score on AnTuTu Benchmark.
Why?
Cause my Defy+ just got 2872 points and i see people with 7000 points without overclocking on the rank. (With overclock to 1350mhz it got 8396 points).
I use Quarx ROM 4.1.2 and the people that made 7000 points haves 4.1.2 too.
I have my crashes at my Defy+ i just have it stable if i close all apps =/ its normal? (Ik the defy its just single-core 1Ghz we cant wait a very good performance but the galaxy Y 850mhz of my friend answer fast the commands than my defy+ 1ghz).
If you have something to make the Defy+ faster and make more points at AnTuTu tell me.
Thanks!
Here's mine, all original:View attachment 2018654
I've already scored like 3000-3300. Dont you know that benchmarks can be manipulated? You can make your 350mhz 128 ram device to show a score like Galaxy S4 but it will be stil the same crap. Benchmarks are not the best way to test a device. Play around with it for about a day and you will decide if your device is faster with the changes you did.
Mine is about 3500....I am on [email protected] Ghz....I recommend u to underclock ur device 1350 is not that stable....after under clock u again test ur device m sure I'll get more score ....
#hit thanks if I helped

Snapdragon 820 Overclock

Is it possible to get our 820 soc overclocked with a custom kernel so it can compare to 821 chip?
Should work with Elemental-X but you could have figured that out by yourself
BTW: whats the point in overclocking on that phone? seriously...

I know that. The point is getting our phone's performance to a 821 levels. If it is possible
I think it's possible. According to Qualcomm, S821 is just a S820 overclocked.
I don't the bluesparks or elementalx are going to incorporate an OC due to not needed, u may be better off learning how to build one and do it ur self, unless one of them would make one for u to just test, not sure how hard it is just to insert an OC, i would ask them and see if they would

Anyone have a kernel that will work on a stock rom so that i can OC the SM-T807T(Tmo)

just as the title states.. im only looking to overclock my unit to 2.1Ghz.. thanks guys.. I also need my 4G LTE to work.. thats very important..
You'll have nothing but problems oc'ing to 2.1, freezing, crashes etc. 2ghz is the max so not much point really.
how can i get it to 2ghz?
I don't think an oc kernel is available for the tmobile variant.
well that sucks to hear..
