[Help] Apps on SD Card

I've read most of the guides down here and other forums and how to install apps on the sd card, but I'm confused with one thing, having the AP2SD on the ROM automatically does it? or having just the ext03 partition? I tried every method i read but there is something im doing wrong as apps are still installing on the phone (some apps on SD and some on phone), i even tried the modInstall app and chose the SD card but I still can't get it, I know im doing something wrong or missing some step please help me
you need both
you need o have a rooted rom with AP2SD included if not AP2SD installed a partion ext 3
Download gscript lite from the market place the attaced script in the in the gscript folder in the gscript menu add script and see what it says
sorry forgot to upload unzip and use the file inside
thanks ill try it now
btw im using LeeDroid latest ROM and latest radio version with bootloader 0.80
so you just need to set up the ext3
•Froyo A2SD mod install location is included in the rom doent that meet your requirements
havent used it myself didnt know it existed till i checked the LeeDroid rom

it is working, but is there a reason why some apps would not install on the SD card?
thanks for the help <3
it does seem to be working i dont get the stderr messages not sure what they mean
what apps arent installing to your sd remember your imternal phone storage will decrease slighty i have about 40 apps installed and mine is down to 88mb
only: Bluetooth File Transfer, Facebook, Papertoss
but no big deal thanks for the help with the script it's was excellent!
paper toss i actually went into the settings/ applications/ manage applications /downloaded and had the option on the phone to move it to sd which i did
Hi everybody, just thought id mention that if your using a rooted froyo 2.2 Rom, you not longer need to use apps2sd or make a partition on you memory card. Instead use setinstallloctaion.apk this then installs all your apps to card without the need to partition your sdcard. works great for me.

well I am runnig froyo and i installed SDMove which has "Apparently" moved apps to the SD that had gone to the internal memory
But:
If you use the FroYo APP2SD method and moved your apps manually to the sdcard, will you be able to use them when you connected your phone to the PC in "Disk Drive" mode?

[Q] How do you partition the SDcard?

I saw you can do it through Amon_RA and apparently there is an option in CWM but it doesn't work. Is there any other way to do it? Also what are the advantages? Does it make the SDcard less cluttered?

I think it is so you can use app2sd and put your apps there. For someone on an incredible, I can't imagine why you would want to do it since you have so much internal memory. I actually prefer for as much as possible to be on the phone and just leave my music, pics, etc on my SD card.
it appears to me that all my stuff is on the SD, and I am not partition or using apps2sd. The phone is about empty and my 2gb SD was full. I ordered and 8gb....
If I install Amon_RA simply to partition my drive, can I reinstall CWM? I cannot find CWM except for the one built into UnrEVOked. I like Rom Manager...

[Q] Upgrading SDCard with Apps2sd+

Eh, hi.
This is going to sounds too noobish for my mind, but I can't help it, sorry
I'm using this ROM - with the optional Apps2SD+ flashed and working - in my Desire. ClockworkMod Recovery installed. The ROM is rooted. The current card is partitioned with ROM Manager (before I flashed that ROM) as 512Mb ext, swap 0 plus rest.
Now, I want to upgrade my (4Gb) SDCard to a bigger (8Gb) one I have. I don't want to change anything, just "copy & paste" the current contents to the bigger card and have at it.
What is the best/easiest way to effectively "clone" the card to a larger one so that minimal re-installing is needed? (preferably none, as it's currenly my wife's phone.)
Imo using the unbuntu live cd is going to be easer, that will read both you fat and ext partitions, then you can copy both to your hdd, partition your new sd card, and copy them bk

[Q] Best way to do apps to sd without losing anything?

Hi guys, I used to mod my old G1 all the time, never had a need to on the Desire until now, I'm running out of room every day!
I have a rooted Desire with rooted stock ROM, I'm wanting to do apps2sd old style (not the google way!)
What's the best way to go about this?
I have a 16Gb card in the phone but I don't want to lose any apps or settings I already have installed (I have backed my SD card up to my PC so I can put the 3 partitions on)
Once I have set the 3 partitions, what do I install to enable Apps2SD and where from?
any help appreciated
Anyone?
Maff, from my Tab
I'm in the same boat, in addition to what "mmace" has asked, is it actually possible to use app2sd on stock roms once rooted, and also, for those that are using apps2sd, is it possible to unmount your card and use it as a storage device on your pc, or will that screw everything up...

Link data and apps to external sdcard

I have a LG G3 D855, rooted, with twrp, and a stock based rom (cloudyg3 2.2 i think).
I also have an 32gb sd card.
I would like to be able to link my apps and data to it.
So i understand that i need 2 partitions.
So i made a 20gb fat32 partition and a 10 gb ext2 partition.
If i use link2sd or DS app2sd lite i get error when tryink to link something.
I dont know what to try anymore.
Did anyone managed to get this working on lg g3 ?
Bump
I have simiral question.
I'm wondering to buy LG G3, but don't know if it's possible to move application data onto SD card without root?
