For some reason after flashing Aokp roms on my Telus t989 I can't recieve data. I had the problem back in January with an Aokp ICS ROM and after flashing Cyanoganmod I got data back. Now after flashing Jb-Mr1 milestone 1 I'm having the same problem, my data was working on Cyanogenmod 2 hours ago so it's not a data outage, nor has my phone plan been cut. So far I've tried re-flashing the ROM, factory resetting the phone, changing the preferred network types between all 3 options, flashing a new radio, and making sure mobile data is turned on. I want to flash a new modem but can't find telus's Kj3 modem anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas on how it can be fixed? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I already flashed the newest Telus Radio. I'm actually with Koodo, but koodo is run by Telus. Do you think flashing the older Koodo radio will make a difference?
Just flashed the Koodo Radio, it made no difference.

Have you tried deleting the APN and adding it in manually? A Google search should find the settings you need.
Ah, just added koodo's Apn settings manually, I guess the phone was just going through Telus. For anyone on Koodo having the same problem that I did, the page for the information is http://koodomobile.com/en/ab/non-koodo-phone-data-setup.shtml .

May not be a huge deal, but I thought I'd ask.
I have cm9 nightly on a p935 Telus unit.
Everything works.

But why does it say unknown baseband in the about phone?
Just a guess, but did you flash HO!NO!'s ICS CWM-flashable leak? If so, that's why.

Any fix?

Do you have original baseband/firmware images for your device?
This happened to me when I flashed a nightly about a week ago. It fixed itself when I flashed a later nightly.

No, as the P935 was unrootable, so no way to get those.
but the P930 would work. Do you know if there is a baseband flash?

I found some P930 baseband img
and followed these instructions -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582553
now it shows a baseband under phone info (and hopefully LTE will work now. Have to wait till I'm in an 'area').

I've been using the AT&T P930 v10j firmware/baseband images with CM9 and it's been working fine for me. I assume it will work fine on your phone too, but I can't promise anything.
These are the ones I'm talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24505166&postcount=27
Also, I posted the correct MD5 sums here if you want to verify them before flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25828353&postcount=73
---------- Post added at 10:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:55 PM ----------
Oh, and as a side note, you probably don't need to do anything. Having an unknown baseband isn't a problem unless it's actually not working properly. In fact, here's a recent screenshot that aremcee posted, showing this his own device shows "unknown" under the baseband line:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/115049428938715274412/posts/Y3zcRM3aZEE
If you are not getting LTE signal, it's probably due to having incorrect APN settings.

It's a way to verify the file was not corrupted while being downloaded. If you try to flash a corrupted img it might make the phone unbootable (though you could recover using unbricking guide). It's unlikely, but just an extra precaution. Most file managers in Android can tell you what the md5 sums of the files are once you have them on the SD card. You just need to compare them against the correct sums to verify the file was not corrupted.

I've got the same APN's that I had when my phone was stock.
But since I only go into a town with LTE only like once a week, I can't say if it's working or not. But the last time I was there it didn't work.
so hopefully with this baseband in, everything will be peachy!! thanks again!
So I am on Verizon and I see there is an update for the radio in the development section. There are a lot of people that say its an improvement and a few people that say is made matters worse.
My question is if I do the update how do I go back to the original radio?
And if worse come to worse could I just do the "back to stock for replacement/repair" method? Idk if this method manages the radios but any input would help.

Backup your current radio. Do a nandroid backup. Then flash new radio. Just pay attention to the build #. Like mine is jroo3l so that's the radio I'm using. I've never had a issue updating mine.

custom combination of radios
Some users have reported positive experiences with the 4.0.2 CMDA radio (EK05) and the newest LTE radio (FG02). I'm assuming its not as easy as downloading both the 4.0.2 & 4.1 radios, unzip, remove the cdma radio from the 4.1 folder, copy and paste the 4.0.2 and rezip > flash.
any suggestions on how to go about testing custom combinations of radios?

There are hybrid radios out there where you can just flash them. I went from a factory radio 404 to a hybrid 404 to a hybrid 411. The only real differences I noticed were how long it took to switch between 3g and 4g.

Then proceeded to install Omega rom.
In TWRP, I wiped cache dalvik syetem, factory reset.
I now have my IMEI as unknown and I do not have a efs backup. Is there a way to restore my imei/efs partition? I have searched all of xda without a resolution. I seriously wished I backed up my efs partition.
Please let me know if there is anything I could do.

Hey I'm having the same problem on a different carrier (koodo via telus network) is this just a radio problem?? I tried using the koodo radio I found on the radios thread but it didn't help. Is there anything special that needs to be done after flashing a radio? Should I just flash all the telus radios one by one to see if one works?
For koodo you may need to change apn settings. Just Google "koodo apn" to find the correct settings

im am going to try it now. havent had time because of the kids but now they are asleep, here goes nothing. i will report once im up and running.
Ok so I just got done flashing this projectaosp.
First I made sure I downloaded latest tmobile modem as of june or july I believe, as well as the most recent saber kernal. Flashed modem first, then the rom followed by kernal.
Everything looks and performs freakin awesome however im missing something. As I speculated its not as easy as just retaining just the modem.
My google play store gives up errors when it does the automatic backup. My voicemail is not working. So I can assume anything tmobile is out of the question. Perhaps I need to tweak my apn settings ? Can anyone shine light to what im missing to get this working ?
I know just by flashing this is the rom I want and need. Just need it functional. Im willing to try anything if you give me instuctions. Ive already "bricked " my note 2 and brought it back so im not scared to try anything. However this was very noticeably quick and snappy compared to my daily driver of the jedi 17 rom. I want this rom so badly on my t-889. Its the best of both worlds, touchwiz and aosp. Please help or directions.
