N7105 roms on our sgh-t889 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

As the header says, do every N7105 custom rom works on our phone? If yes, can someone guide me how ?

Awesome. I too have been searching for this answer. I'm really digging the Projectaosp rom for the n7105 and really want it on my t-889
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134099
So than all we need to do is make sure the phone retains the modem. Thats it ? I thought there would be more to it. not that im complaining. Thanks for the help.

im am going to try it now. havent had time because of the kids but now they are asleep, here goes nothing. i will report once im up and running.

Ok so I just got done flashing this projectaosp.
First I made sure I downloaded latest tmobile modem as of june or july I believe, as well as the most recent saber kernal. Flashed modem first, then the rom followed by kernal.
Everything looks and performs freakin awesome however im missing something. As I speculated its not as easy as just retaining just the modem.
My google play store gives up errors when it does the automatic backup. My voicemail is not working. So I can assume anything tmobile is out of the question. Perhaps I need to tweak my apn settings ? Can anyone shine light to what im missing to get this working ?
I know just by flashing this is the rom I want and need. Just need it functional. Im willing to try anything if you give me instuctions. Ive already "bricked " my note 2 and brought it back so im not scared to try anything. However this was very noticeably quick and snappy compared to my daily driver of the jedi 17 rom. I want this rom so badly on my t-889. Its the best of both worlds, touchwiz and aosp. Please help or directions.

I'm almost sure you should flash (in this order) rom radio kernel... at this point, go back into recovery and dirty flash the radio again. Then get back to us

You know i had a feeling i may have flashed it in a incorrect order because i had no service when i went to my backed up jedi rom and had to dirty flash the radio. Thank you for pointing that out. i will try it now and report.

I tried the same rom, flashed project AOSP, flashed stock radio, flashed stock kernel, No go on data, I went to try to set the apn, and it says no sim card.
...so... I am guessing you will have the same luck.

its not registering my sim card. which answers why i was running into those issues before. i tried flashing in the correct order. and then also dirty flashed again after my first attempt.

What ROM did you flash ? Was it for sprint ? Do you have a sprint note 2 ? There is no ROM close to the name you put in sprint section ... you will have to use tar and Odin otherwise if you can get into download mode

Questions should go in the Q&A section for future reference, however, since you're here I'll try to help. Did you flash the boot.img that can be found inside the zip before flashing the rom? (or after... I think either way is okay to do) I would try that and see if it works. As long as you downloaded the slimbean for primoc (which is our cdma phones) you should be good It's a great rom
Edit: what I mean by flashing the boot.img is fastboot flash boot boot.img in fastboot usb mode from bootloader, then flash the slimbean rom (.zip file) in recovery
Right. I flashed the boot.IMG in fast boot after I installed the rom. Maybe its just bad luck this time. I'll wipe everything and re flash everything. I just thought since the ROM was in HTC one v original that it was for a different version of the phone.

Maybe it does matter what order you flash things in, but if the title of the thread says CDMA or PrimoC then it's for virgin mobiles one v and last I checked SlimBean had wifi working... so try flashing the boot.img in bootloader first (you may not have to repeat this if you already did it, but just in case it didn't go through or something), then try wiping and reinstalling slimbean (and probably gaps) in recovery
it should work this time, but if not then I'd try supersick kernel (01032013 version should be good)
Hey thanks for the help man. I'll try it out shortly

i did read something about getting the boot.img from the op and not using the one in the rom
Nah it just says use whatever the CDMA cm10 kernel is, which in our case the best bet would be probably simon's supersick kernel, but I do think the one in the ROM zip works just fine I'm about to test this out myself, so if you wanna wait ten minutes for me to get back, I'll let you know

Alright so to hopefully save you some trouble and lost data, I went ahead and followed the steps you took. no wifi... I followed what I told you, and again got no wifi, but I simply flashed a new kernel (I used simons SuperSick_1-2JB.img) and got wifi to work
sorry for the misunderstanding and leading you astray, and sorry Jared... guess you were right on this one Hope I helped and now I get to enjoy slimbean too haha

Downgrading... need 4.1.1 rom. ANYONE?

Before you go to screaming at me for not searching, know that I did. I tried. For 2 weeks now. The only link that's still active is a Hotfile link which doesn't work well for me at all because it keeps giving me an incomplete download. I tried going to Scottsroms to download it and the link is dead. I need the original AT&T - Stock Rooted I317UCALJ2 or even the 4.0.4 version. Anyone with it or a link to it PLEASE help me out. :crying: I'm currently on 4.1.2 btw if that even matters.
Direct download, Zippyshare, 4shared, dropbox, torrents, those have all worked well for me so far.
Thanks people. XDA hasn't let me down yet! :fingers-crossed:
Why would you want to downgrade? And by the way there is no 4.0.4 version

Oh... I thought not. I got mine late in the curve so i didn't know. i seen a few posts mention 4.0... whatever, unimportant. lol. I want to downgrade because after reading around and stuff, I believe that AT&T quietly patched the recently discovered free method of carrier unlocking using the hidden menus in one of the later updates. AT&T is uncooperative in giving me my unlock code as I've been with them less than 6 months and given my current circumstances I really need it unlocked so i can just go prepaid with it.
Anyway to get me back on 4.1.1? Everyone seems bent on using 4.1.2 in everything and the 4.1.1 roms have all died off like the dinosaurs they are. lol. If I'm not mistaken, I317UCALJ2 is the version I need.

Flashing my modem is definitely easier than flashing my whole rom setup again. Will try that NOW. I wonder if I'll re-lock it if I flash it to a newer modem again? We'll see. I think my relationship with AT&T has hit a wall.
Update: Okay... so apparently flashing a modem isn't as easy as I thought... or I'm just pretty noobish. I keep trying to flash it from recovery but it just keeps saying "Failed".

I tried that but it just kept saying FAILED in bright red letters. (TWRP).
I downloaded zips from that modem thread mentioned earlier, downloaded the modem, and tried to flash... unsuccessfully. They were zips... but I couldn't unzip them... (Tried after they failed me).
What gives?
Tried flashing them from another recovery (Philz to be specific), another no-go... what GIVES?
Edit: Philz is feature rich... but I prefer the GUI of TWRP... not that it matters. lol.
Maybe a bad download? Cus all you should have to do is go in recovery and flash the zip.

If you have a nandroid backup might be best to do a full wipe via recovery and restore your nandroid backup.
there are a couple of roms here to try which have 240dpi capability for example Hashcheck Hybrid and Paranoid android if you want to use 4.2.2 and lose the s pen functionality.

hope this helps.

Mostly the ROMs do not touch your modem, unless specifically stated in that ROM thread. But generally no, and your modem stays. If you need to, u can change back from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35069132.

This is my first samsung phone, and coming from HTC it was a bit daunting looking at modems and stuff.
Anyone recommend any good s-pen substitutes?
I'm using cm10.1 and changing the dpi on it works too. Using dpi 220 now.
Did you just mess with the build.prop?
Do you have USB debugging enabled?
If so, you could just push a clean one via adb.
Edit: urgh. What I mean is; this is in the wrong section. Sorry for bump.

Flashing to cricket question

I just flashed to cricket as one of my recent posts said I was. I wasn't hesitant to flash a different ROM because someone assisted me that they have flashed ROMs over their sprint to cricket flash BUT, the guy at cricket told me that if I factory reset my phone or reset, the cricket flash won't work no more. Is this true? Has anyone had complications ?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Well I know on my S3 factory reset will not have me lose root, or the current ROM I'm using. You'll still be on the same ROM. Just default settings. Like it was when you first flashed the ROM. Then again I could be totally wrong on your question.
