Has anyone ever experienced this before? Mine is taking too long to catch the signal apx. 3mins to connect. Same goes for my data network.

Is it me or does 4g seem to be a lil slow today mines keep dropping also it never did that?
Im suffering a very low 4G speed for 4 days. Its close to zero. Only 2G is usable, but slow.

I thought it was just my ROM, but switching from WiFi to 3G/4G takes forever. took about 20 minutes once just to get a decent connection.
maybe it has something to do with the LTE coming and them optimizing towers, to whatever they do.

I thought it was only me but they must be doing something over there with the tmobile towers i hope it is for the new Lte 4g
The slow speed issue only occurs within my neighbor hood, around 2 mile square. When I drove away, it was back to normal. It never happened before! Sometimes, the speed is very inconsistant, fast for awhile, then no connection!

Im fine here in Houston. Do you have another phone you can test with?
Might also be helpful if the mention what rom you are on to help identify the cause

I had similar issue turn off/on your mobile data and airplane mode.
Worked for me

Ive had really crappy service in houston over the last couple days. Been having to just keep wifi on because nothing wants to load properly on regular data.

Same here, Houston coverage has been bad for the past week or so. In my house where I used to get like three bars on 4g, now I only get edge. Don't know what's happening here, could it be the refarming thing they got going on?

I hope thats what it is. My download speed hasnt been too bad, 8-10 usually but the upload has been horrible, .3-.5 typically. But compared to the 15+ download and 2-3 upload I got the first couple weeks with the phone its noticable. The biggest problem though is that it seems to randomly just not be connected or want to connect to the net.

i have absolutely abysmal 4g speed around where i live (south san francisco, says its on 4g, geting about 30 kbps down). If i turn on pandora in my car it'll sometimes refuse to play and when I drive to an area where I know there's good 4g speeds, it still doesnt play. The phone says its on 4g but the down/up stream lights never blink, so I have to switch off and on my mobile data to get it working again.
Another incident was a similar issue, but instead it didnt have the 4g icon at all, it wasnt even on edge! All I had in the notifications bar was my battery and the t-mo signal. In this case I had to restart the phone.
For some reason lately I've been getting only Edge in my area when normally I get extremely solid H+. I don't know if my phone is acting up (completely stock on 4.1.2) or if AT&T may be upgrading their network in my area, possibly adding LTE. Any ideas why?

Sometimes when I get this, I just airplane mode cycle. Sometimes im stuck on far away towers.

Let us know if it doesnt work. It happens. If youre getting it a lot. Thats not usual. Or if it happens in your house fron 4g down to edge. It could be an issue with your tower. Or location. Maybe the tower is overloaded and they kick you to another?
This has happened to me once on this phone. And it was on either stock rom or blackout. Cant remember

Well where I work I get full signal. Averaging 10 Mbps down on H+. But recently I've only been getting Edge. It could very well be what you said about too many users on one tower. I'll try tomorrow and let you know.

A few months ago when I had my Galaxy S3 I got this problem out of nowhere. I never found a solution even tho I tried going back to stock and several other "fixes". Ended up having to send the phone back and getting another one. Idk if the antenna went bad or what but even on Edge it was unresonble slow
Well I couldn't hold myself back the other night and I flashed Jedi X. Haha. Having no data issues now.

I'm forced to use HSPDA due to the LTE network being overloaded here in SoCal.
Funny thing is, with LTE on, I avg about 3down/10up....with HSPDA, I get roughly 6down/1up. Quite frankly, I care more about download than upload anyway so it's actually better for me
OK so here's the thing, I've noticed that when in at college (or school for some) my gnex is on standby most of the day with mobile data turned on even though its 2G area, now I manage to make it home with at least 80% and usually end up recharging it however the peculiar thing is that with WiFi on it drains about 1% per minute at least. Seriously its truly ridiculous, anybody else had this problem or have any ideas on what to do?

Possibly a lot of traffic on your network? Lots of broadcasting happening causing wake locks. All I can think of.
Also what's your signal strength like? Both cellular and wifi.
Cellular wise its always full bars wherever I go and I turn off mobile data when I get home, WiFi wise I'm always on 2 bars in a 60mb connection.
Traffic isn't that high maybe one other person on the laptop...

So i work in a warehouse. My cinnection keeps going in and out, like my phone service. I am connected tobthe wifi which is always strong so that never fails. But sometimes my mobile data goes out and i cant send texts meanwhile i can search the web. Theres times it goes out for a while and i have to restart my phone. Never had such a problem with my s2 in this place. But then again my s2 was rooted and this s4 isnt. So what can possibly be the problem?

Do u have LTE there ?
My data goes time to time and its a period between switching LTE to 4g and 4g to LTE (best guess) .
Sometimes msg send error also pops up.

Yes i have lte if i dont use wifi.. but its weird cause i get ****ty service with this phone.. and i just experienced.. if i have service.. mms still wont download, like group chats.. dint get it
