I'm hoping not to start a flame war here...let me start by saying I do not hate my Note 2. I think it's a great phone.
The thing is, i haven't really used my stylus in any real sense, and it was really the main reason I got the device...also the multi-window. I only use multi-window while driving to watch a movie, while keeping a tiny segment of google maps on screen. This is really not something I should be doing anyway
thirdly...htc one.
anyway, my phone is well preserved, no scratches, and always had a case and screen protector since day one. how much should I be able to sell this device? I have no experience selling phones, what's the best way to do this? Any advice would be great. my phone is under contract. is there issues i need to know about?

My best advice would be to shop around.. EBay and Craig's list would b good places to get a idea of a fair price.. EBay auctions definately because the buyers set the price.. Just b sure to shop around and don't stop on 1 price.. Good luck to u..

Your best option if your not familiar in selling is to use swappa.com. It's a great way to sell your phone. No eBay fees and only charge is the $10 you pay after selling phone. Just remember to calculate shipping costs on your asking price. And don't sell yourself short if your phone really is in good condition. Just look at previous sold phones and what they sold for and base it on that.
Other option is Craigslist. Only problem with this is you'll get lots of spam emails and hagglers trying to get a great phone at a cheap price. But if you somehow find someone that is worth it you keep all the profit. Just make sure you sell in a public place and take a counterfeit money pen to make sure your not being duped. Best thing is to meet at a Sprint store.
Good luck. If you have any questions feel free to message me. I do this all the time. Have sold my last 2 phones on swappa and a couple on Craigslist.

Swappa is becoming the best place to sell your phone since they only charge 1 fee. The only other fee you pay is with PayPal once you get paid. You must use PayPal. They also only sell phones that are in working condition and with clean esn. So far more and more people shop and sell on swappa. You can even link your phone sale on Twitter and Facebook. Just go on there and look at info they give you before you sell. It's easy and if your price seems high you can compare it to other phones and see how much they sold for. You can even lower the price anytime you want, or raise it.

I just checked local Craigslist, cheapest I've seen for a Sprint Note-2 is $400, seen one that was flashed to Cricket for $349. Most are 400 and up.
Thanks guys. Very helpful

All my phones have been sold through eBay. Even after the fees and PayPal fees, I feel that's where I pocket the most money after the sale. That also include shipping.
HAHA. MultiView - watching movies with GPS on the other screen.
Not to hijack the thread @THE op.. But you can sell a phone that's under contract right and avoid fees with a phone not being on the line by just getting a cheap phone to put on it until you sell the main phone right?

went mildly crazy and decided to buy the HTC One.
anyone interested?
Comes with 2 iSmooth screen protectors (the 3rd is installed...semi-perfectly, with a lint trapped in the upper left side, away from the screen) + sprint body glove case + all accessories, and original box.
looking for whatever the lowest in price in swappa. shipping included. this is the titanium version.
Caveat though, I can't ship it until I receive my new phone.
They go on Craigslist for $500 id sell mine for 450 in pristine condition. Thinking about the LG Optimus bro I cannot go back to something smaller

I'm debating putting my nexus up for sale on ebay and could use some advice...
What should I start off the bidding at? will be selling it with standard and extended battery.
Should I leave it rooted or return to stock?
Any idea roughly what I may end up getting for it?
Should I bother taking pics of the phone or just use a standard pic of the phone?
Will I have any problems trying to sell the phone with no history of selling items?
99p starting bid, it's free. Keep it rooted, put a 1.4 GHz kernel in it title it 'Galaxy Nexus, Rooted, overclocked 1.4 GHz with custom recovery'.
People will go mental for it. I've just sold my Desire for £150 because it's overclocked to 1.2 GHz.
Forgot to mention it is the verizon phone... Do I list it as Verizon or CDMA?
I don't know much about Verizon and CDMA, but I suppose if it's important you should mention it. I don't know how you transfer numbers with a CDMA phone.
Don't forget to mention you can relock the bootloader and easily flash a stock ROM if someone is worried about the warranty.

I'd say you should list it as "Verizon (CDMA/LTE)". The Verizon part is important as the at least the CDMA part of it will be locked to Verizon

I usually start bids off at 99 cents. As already mentioned, you can list it as rooted, but offer to return to factory state if the buyer requests. You should get close to what you paid if the phone is in mint condition. Always take pictures so the buyer knows exactly what they're getting (I take 3-4, showing the condition of the phone and accessories included). You won't have problems selling, every seller had 0 feedback at one point. Good luck

I've got a mint Nexus and a pro DSLR with a decent macro lens, I can take 3-4 nice close ups of you like? A good few pictures always helps you get a good price.

i agree 500- 600 easy and if you write your username on a pice of paper and photograph the phone on top of the paper, that helps persuade users that you are actually in possession of said product.
what to be careful of is users paying for it with zero feedback using a stolen CC

If it comes to that do I have the option not to sell to that person without a penalty?
Will it make a difference money wise if I list the phone as rooted or stock?
Just sell it rooted, you'll get more for it. Some folk haven't a clue about how to root a phone and will pay a premium for it. Trust me, I sell all my phones overclocked and rooted and I always do well.
Wow, very interesting, I thought selling rooted wouldnt be a good idea cause people may think they lost their warranty without a way back.
Like I said in post #4 just explain how easy it is to relock and flash the stock ROM using mskip's rooting method. Just word it intelligibly and people will be all over it.
Selling previous phones are always the way I get new ones.
I pretty much agree with above. List at least three different pictures (one of the front, back and a good angle showing everything you're listing such as the box and cables). Mention in the listing that they should contact you with any questions or if they want to see more pictures. Also make sure to mention something along the lines of "Anyone with zero feedback/International bidders email me first before bidding or I may remove your bid." in bold. This way those who are in those situations but serious about the item will contact you first. Then you just have to keep track of who bids. Removing a bid once usually keeps a joker from bidding again. And I wouldn't worry about price and what removing a bid might do. Right now this is rated as the best android phone out there (by reviewers, anyways). It'll still sell for $500 -$600 no matter what

We've known this for several weeks now. Negri Electronics has had it on pre-order for about a month...
I had one on pre-order a few weeks ago, back when it was at $714 (estimated price) and couldn't justify the extra price (and wait) when the grey one was available for $565 a week after placing my pre-order. Even at current price its $64 more than the grey CAN model. Not sure if its worth it.
I think of it as a Grey model + Extended battery (and a few $$ to spare) or a White model. Think I'll order my battery soon.
Excellent.
My wife was going to go with the Galaxy S2 in white due to it looking more like a females device, but she loves my Galaxy Nexus so I am pretttty sure she'll give up her White iphone 4 now.

How did you pay that much just a week ago? it's been cheaper than that for a while now... Negri has had it for $595 (CAN) and $622 (Latin/UK) for like 3 weeks now.
I wonder if the grey GN will look any good with the battery cover from the white GN.
The black-grey-white combination might be nice.

That was the cheapest price I found on Amazon a week ago (US). Didn't really want to buy it anywhere else since they are pretty easy about returns and I wasn't real sure I would like the phone at the time.
Not familiar with Negri, but at least now I know I like the phone, so I think I could try them if they are trustworthy. Just have to think if I really want it in white now.
And of course even on Amazon the prices have come down a quite a bit since last week.

Well I'd trust a solid US-based importer (Negri) over some random Amazon seller (no offense, but lots of shady characters on there especially in grey market imports). Especially when its $60 cheaper . But everyone has their own comfort level.
looks pretty cool, a bit to girly for me.
I still don't understand the attraction to white cell phones. Do people look at their phones and think "I like it, but I really wish you could see the filth it's covered in more clearly..."

Part of my decision also. I think white phones are extremely sexy, but I was worried that the smallest scratch would end up showing much easier on white, and I was worried about discoloration over time.

Personal choice. You choose where to spend your money and if the white version is worth it to you. You can't change how much you paid for the grey version now.

i hate it when companies won't release a device in its variations simultaneously. If they would have done that with the nexus so that black and white was available from the beginning i would have bought the white instead of the black one.

Well Sprint will only give you $105 on a buyback and that's if the phone is in pristine condition. I'd definitely lower it to around $200-250 (the going prices I've seen so far). Also, check gazelle.com sometimes their price offering is way better than Sprint.

from my observation youll only get 250 if u have a bunch of accessories (cases, extra chargers, etc.) not to mention a pristine phone. 200 is def closer to average.
my 2cents, this phone is nice enough to hang onto IMO just as another device to screw around. but i do like my toys. i suppose if ur gonna sell it now is the last shot to get 200, it will prob drop to 150 within the next 2 months.
also always nice to have a backup phone.
just a tip, open ebay app, search "epic 4g touch", click the refine button, choose "cell phones and smart phones" category, on the same page tick the box that says "sold items only", press done, what you now see is the range of amounts epic 4g touches have been selling for recently...
Just traded my evo 3d straight-up for one of these and am very impressed. I plan on giving it to a family member and taking an evo4g in trade. I will be hunting for another epic touch to replace it....great phone. They go for under 200 in my area.

Two great phones. The OG EVO still ranks as one of my favorites edged out only by the E4GT.
My son passed his E4GT to his dad in exchange for me giving him my OG EVO. He just likes the weight and feel of it. I think the E4GT almost felt too light and he was always worried he'd drop it while using it. lol He'll come back around at some point but it's great to see my EVO getting more use.
I've been seeing them go for 200-250 in the marketplace, price has really dropped on them since the release of the GS3.

Just a heads-up to XDAers with E4GTs for sale:
I'm about to test and see if the MVNO KDDI Mobile will allow Sprint phones to be allowed on their network - if it does there will probably be several in my office interested in buying phones. But I caveat that with this: It would be mainly for work purposes so they're probably only going to want 100, maybe 150 if they are interested.
Will post an update soon - but honestly I don't see how they won't let it if the ESN is clean and I factory reset to allow hands-free activation.

Well 9 times out of 10 when I have had to use the insurance....I have gotten a new phone and the few refurbished ones I got were all defective so then I called up and got a brand new one the next day....I will say not finding much in the way of G2s for less than 200 around here much yet....I got one for 180 but I got lucky

Ha I had a very poor experience with asurion.. every time I got a device it was defective, I ended up taking two apart and melding it into one functional device. Glad your experience was better!

Not really because you get warranty for life you can have as many exchange as you want even when you brick your phone plus it works for any phone that is or was used to your sim card so I think paying my end 5 bucks is well worth it.
And by the way you are right, if i ever crack my screen I prefer to get a new one. people the repair cell phone screens never leave as it used to be. you can tell a lot that the screen been replaced

Hahaha the only phone I got from a warranty exchange that was new from tmobile was when my sensation got a power button defect and tmobile gave me the amaze brand new in box as a warranty exchange. then a few days later i guess they figure about the glitch because the amaze was not long since it came out and took it off from their system as a alternative phone lol.
but guess what I'm kinda tik off from tmobile is that I called to change a plan for my sons phone and the rep could hear an echo so we ketp talking and she said that if I wanted a warranty exchange, my answer was there is no point on getting the same phone that my have the screen bleed or else cause of samsung defect and she had the guts to gave me these alternative phone that I was like omg I better stick to what i have.
1. HTC AMAZE 4G I already had it sold it for the sensation
2. Sidekick 4g
3. Nokia Lumia.
4. Samsung Galaxy S 4G.
5. HTC HD2
Phones that are not even compatible to the S2
Warranty exchange and insurance claim is different. You can exchange as many times as you like but you can only claim insurance twice in 365 days.

The other difference with an insurance claim is you have to pay a deductable of about 130 per claim when you have the TMOBILE US insurance. I had the insurance on my last phone the HD2 and never used it. Have it on the SG2 as well. Have no idea what you get when you have to file a claim, lesser phone if the phone is discontinued or refurbished?
I had coverage on other phones with SquareTrade and their servce was great. Bought a used phone off eBay, put on the coverage. If something happens, they basically refund the cost for up to two years. Not considering the insurance is dirt cheap compared to the TMobile monthly cost.

Ouch! Well, if this will make it feel better, I've had worse:
Phone + Pavement + Bus # 85 = I'll leave the state of the phone to your imagination. I will, however, say that the SIM card inside was also dead.
And if that didn't make you feel better, I hope it at least made you laugh (I can tell you I wasn't laughing when I saw the result of this combo). That was expen$ive.
Ok, here's the deal: the glass on your phone is just that: glass. What makes it strong is that it's laminated: several layers of glass at tension against each other. You compromise one layer, the entire piece of glass is garbage, it cracks in a spiderweb pattern like what you see. So your glass is a goner.
What about the digitizer under it? Test it very carefully: touch everywhere on your screen and test if the phone will detect it. If not, your digitizer is gone too, you do need that $180 screen assembly. What about the LCD? Any dead pixels / lines / areas?
HOWEVER
If the LCD and the digitizer still work, there is some hope yet: your glass is broken, but your phone still works! What you need to do now is find a way to glue it together again. It will never be like new. It will never be strong again, and your phone will probably die a nasty screen death within a year or so, but that's a year you don't have to buy another phone. I think Walmart has some service to repair broken glass (at least here it does). If the digitizer works, that is. IF it works. And IF your LCD is not damaged. And IF that service is what it claims to be.
Don't expect miracles, your best case scenario is a phone with visual artifacts from the broken glass.
Damn ...
Heard they were now selling our phone for $299 brand new. Not sure how much truth there is to that since I'm in Canada but worth looking into.

Hi guys!!
Sad story, I broke my Dinc2's screen for a second time. And I decided to just get a new phone rather than go through the expensive process of repairing again. I found a deal on XDA marketplace for a Dinc4G and I was thinking of selling my Dinc2 and getting a Dinc4G. Now, how much would you think is a reasonable price for a Dinc2 with the following:
> broken screen, red front bezel, black back cover (plus a brand new black back cover) and practically no blemishes on the front bezel as it is a new replacement.
Will I get at least $50 for it? lol... I wish to get a bit more. Finally, do you say that $250 for a brand new Dinc4G is a good offer? (this is what I found on XDA marketplace)
And, am I allowed to inquire about this in General section? I hope so!
Go Dix!
I've seen the full black, and stock ones (@ Target) go for $25. But, if it is still rooted, got something cool on it, has that two-tone thing going on. It might be worth $50. I am not an expert, so my guess may be invalid. :/

I would try ebay. You should be able to get 80-90 if you do buy it now. You can look at recently sold prices.

The one at target is with a contract so it isn't comparable.
I would fix it for cheap, then sell it for 150 all day on eBay

I didn't try to sell mine and it's a replacement that's 3 and a half months old because I wouldn't buy one for what I would of wanted to atleast sell it for $100-150 so I gave it to my youngest daughter which is 6 years old to play dress up games, ninjump and temple run on and for what its worth in my opinion the inc4G is a honorary upgrade from a dinc2 as long as you're not sacrificing unlimited data which I did not for that unlimited becomes very priceless to a pirate.
