I recently flashed my E4GT with Stock GB27 Rooted and added Comadose 1.4V tweaks. Now I went to flash my phone back to stock unrooted and my ODIN failed and now my phone is displaying a message about connecting to Kies to recovery mode. I never got a recovery code.
And I have tried Flashing EL29,EL26,FI27,and FL24 and they all get to different points in ODIN and then fail. I have no idea what to do....
What is the issues?
What did you use to go back to stock un rooted?

I am using One-Click ODIN and ODIN for Windows.
I had almost the same issue. I did a data wipe using odin factory reset tool. Then wentvstraight into download mode. I was then able to use odin v3 to get back to FI22. You should be able to find the odin factory reset tool here on XDA and the low ship tar file. Hope this works for you.

Going back to original post, your phone was working properly to the point that you had comadose running with root.
Then you wanted to go back to stock/no root, apparently what ever you did to go back borked your phone. Disclosing this exact procedure may help get your problem resolved.
Sounds like you may be having a inproper partition problem.
The difference between jb vs ics/gb is the way the system partitions are set, if these get borked you run into these issues.
Only thing I can think of is going with a Rwilco ics one click odin full restore, after phone boots up allow to run for a while using several apps, phone, internet then trying a one click jb full restore no/root if thats what you desire. *Do not save data *
This process may reset your partitions properly for jb to work properly.

A little more information please...
Did you attempt the manual update zip via flashing it in CWM?
Did you flash a custom GB based ROM?
Thanks.
I am ...was running a rooted froyo stock rom that came with the phone.
I followed this guide....for the most part I just installed the gingerbread folder from cwm and rebooted now im stuck.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB956i_KEp4

If you followed the instructions right, you've already hosed what was previously your "stock" rom.
First, did you make a backup?
If so, wipe and restore.
If now, flash a new rom.
Did you already update the modem?
If its still on EC05, flash an EC05 rom.

MY PROBLEM IS THat i cant even get it to show up on odin!
You don't Odin to flash a rom, so that's beside the point right now.
Don't get flustered here, I am trying to help.

Dude, just restore your nand backup.
If you want to go back to stock and become unrooted, go to youtube and search samsung epic return to stock. Watch qbkings video. You will need the ec05.tar file, samsung drivers for your pc, and one additional file that should come with odin, and a valium. There are turtorials everywhere around here, but for step by step "easy" instructions, use qbkings video.

Two options if odin doesn't see your phone. Try a different cable I bought mine at staples 15 dollars for a better 6 foot cable. Second option is remove the battery hold down 1 and power insert battery. That should get you back in. Then odin to stock ec05. Find a rom of your choice like randomrom thunderhawk. After it installs use the ec05 to ei22 modem flash. That is the method that I upgraded worked like a champ.
If odin doesn't see your phone, try disabling your antivirus and firewall that was causing me problems a while back with Norton I think.
I wanted to try an AKOP ROM or two on my completely stock, never rooted Note 2 running the OTA UCALK7 update. I followed the guide here (flash the SU injected stock UCALJ2 image) to root and now my note gets stuck at the Samsung logo. I have tried the following:
Downloaded the completely stock UCALJ2 unrooted image and flashed via ODIN.
Tried flashing both stock and rooted ROMs on another computer using the stock USB cable.
Flashed CWM touch via ODIN after flashing rooted UCALJ2 image, it can boot to CWM but fails miserably most likely to the lack of root.
My guess is it's bricked because sammy closed the root hole in the UCALK7 update and flashing back to rooted UCALJ2 isn't enough to bypass the patched exploit. Is there an ODIN flashable complete UCALK7 image that I can try (I've looked to no end, all I can find are rooted zips flashable via CWM) or am I really up the creek?
Pull the battery.
Hold the Center Home Button + Vol Down + Power
Slide the battery in.
If you do this right you can get into odin before the Samsung logo. I just had the same problem because I flashed the wrong recovery. It worked for me.

Thanks - I actually figured that part out since my second post. The phone boots after the factory reset however I don't get phone/data service. I've since tried flashing the two AT&T modems I could find, atti317ucalj2modemfixed.zip and ATT K7 Modem - Baseband.zip. Neither resolve the issue.

Thanks but I can't even enter the network configuration settings - it tells me to insert a SIM. My SIM is in the phone.
I'm having other problems too which I think are partition related. Apps are acting funny, saying there isn't space on the phone (dropbox can't download anything, etc). I'm trying to get TriangleAway installed so I can just RMA it but I can't even download it to my phone. Also a CWM fix permissions fails even though I grant it root access.
It's really simple..download firmware from Sammobile.com flash it in Odin.. u might get stuck on the Samsung screen, if that happens factory reset. Make sure your downloading right file...u r now messing with Odin and it doesn't forgive

I know what you're saying, I'm definitely using the right file and process. I'm a pretty seasoned veteran when it comes to rooting/odin/RSD/fastboot, etc. I've run custom ROMs on dozens of phones since the G1. What's happening to me is apparently not a common failure with the note 2 or GS3. Is there a PIT file available for the AT&T Note 2? I see one for the Verizon Note 2 but I wouldn't dare try to flash that.
There is a pit file around but I really don't think it's that.
And also just checking don't mean to insult ur intelligence but if u are using Odin it will be a .tar, if it's a recovery its I .zip

Yeah, it's a tar file I'm flashing through Odin, got it from SamsungUpdates: Samsung-Updates.com-SGH-I317_ATT_1_20121005095854_bpaaavv07o.
I also tried flashing the stock ROM in deodex'd zip form after I got a custom recovery on there, still no dice. The non-functioning modem and lack of proper root/storage affects both Sammy and CM/AKOP based ROMs. I don't know about the modem part but I've seen weird things like this when the NAND starts going bad and things written to it don't "stick." I don't think that's the case here since it's only on its 4th or 5th flash. More than likely the latter problem is a file system issue. I have no idea about the radio.
I'm going to try and exchange it tomorrow. At least I got the flash count cleared and I'm back on a stock ROM (with the same problems).
So I find myself in a bit of a predicament. Just had to get Sprint to switch out my phone due to a shorting USB port. Managed to get enough of a connection to flash back to stock and go. Got new phone, decided I'd flash a JB rom to try out and all was happy. Lo and behold, today I discover that Sprint replaced my phone with a bum unit with...wait for it... a shorting USB port. This time, no matter how many different cables/angles/amounts of pressure I try I can't get the PC to recognize the device. Charges just fine, but no data transfer. I need to go back to Sprint yet again, but now I'm stuck on a non-standard (albeit stock) JB rom and rooted.
I know Mobile Odin exists, but wasn't sure exactly if it would work for this purpose or not. Is it possible to use something like that to revert to the stock ICS build to go back to Sprint with?
If you have super su you can unroot from that. There are other apps as well.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Ok, so along that line of thought, is Mobile Odin capable of going from JB back to a stock ICS rom. Different partitions and whatnot.
Only if you flash a full restore, bit it can't flash modems. So you need to flash a stock unrooted restore of whatever you have now. Make sure your flash counter is at 0 as well. Triangle away will work for that, but you need to use it first while rooted.

He'll need to flash a recovery first and flash the matching modem.zip for the restore he chooses to prevent the mix matched baseband and build# or restore far enough back to OTA to FL24 since JB/GB27 isn't OTA and no kies without USB
☆SoA: Son's of Android™☆
I like to break stuff!
he could just say the usb broke after he did the kies update.
HOW TO GO BACK TO STOCK WITH NO USB
1) Use ES file explorer or similar to move all root-related files (rom zips, modems, anything tar, etc) off your internal SD and on to your external. Added bonus: they will already be there when you get the new phone.
2) Use TriangleAway to get the flash counter to 0.
3) Mobile Odin GB27 Unrooted Stock Restore. Since you oneclicked GB27 from PC, your ROM and modem will now match.
4) Uninstall Mobile Odin (it should have injected itself).
5) Unroot (root should have injected itself) from within the SuperSu app.
6) Remove your external SD from the phone.
7) Bring your phone in to Sprint for warranty replacement.
I am having issues booting into CWM EL26 + EL29 Recoveries.
I am able to odin the kernal but it just sticks on the Samsung logo if I try to access CWM.
It used to reboot and either go right into CWM or I would do Volume Up and Power to access.
I am currently on Paradox Rom GB27. I am trying to flash a ROM that needs EL26 or EL29 but cant access.
Any idea why I cannot access?
Also, if I have the charger plugged in (usb to comp), the screen gets stuck on a battery icon like its charging but doesnt move.
(think thats just because the charger is plugged in) BUT it seems that whatever this kernal is doing it the phone it is Freezing it at that first boot point.
I reflashed GB27 so im fine for now but just want to solve this mystery.
Any help appreciated! thanks!!

Now all of a sudden they dont. I tried downloading agai , checked md5, everything appears correct.
I will post back the results.

No luck with mobile odin. Same thing. Stuck at the White Samsung Logo.
I am out of options. Unless there is another kernel I can try that is similar to el26 + el29.
Its weird how gb27 works fine... I just dont understand that. Could something be broke or misconfigured on my phone to not allow
installing el26 + el29?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I will stick with Paradox for now.
I wanted to try multi window rom but flashing on gb27 gives force closes and constant reboots.
Is it possible that once im on gb27, I cant go back and flash a gb rom? Ive done it
Before so thats why im stumped. Its like my phone doesnt support it.
I went on rwilco and downloaded multiple files and made sure they were with cwm.
They all do the same thing. Heres one for you... would water damage cause those kernels not to work?
Phones fine besides the kernel issue.
Also is it possible when doing cleanup on my phone and deleting
Old backups cause an issue? I thought to myself... wait I can restore an old rom with
El29! Lol no where to be found, already got rid of them.

I've flashed many ROMs..from GB to JB and back the other way..lol. Never had that problem..you could try to go into recovery and flash the format all x 2.. Then flash the el26 kernel zip..reboot recovery.. I don't know...might work..The format all x 2 will get ya ready for flashing GB/ICS so it might help..once on el26 you can use jb format all x 2 to get ready for the new jb ROM flash.. Just a thought...

Try doing an Odin stock rooted Rom flash on ICS and then working from there using mobile Odin. Sometimes I can't do the pc Odin for those kernels so I use mobile Odin and it works perfect.
If you're trying to flash the new SHOShock Rom by TD then I'm having issues with that too. My phone gets stuck on a boot cycle and if I try to flash a nandroid back up then it gets stuck on the Samsung screen. Only way out of it was flashing a GB27 rooted stock Rom in pc Odin.

First, download the el29 recovery kernel zip located in the rwilco repository.
Next either flash, or already be on the gb27 agat recovery kernel (also can be found in repository).
While in agat recovery, navigate to "mounts and storage"
Select "format /preload" (and whatever else you want to wipe out)
Back out, then "install zip from SD card"
Flash the el29 zip and you should be good to go.

Not true in all cases^^
some of the direct boot Odin & Mobile Odin files (EL26 or EL29) were originally made from the international phone source and when the kernal is flashed it will reflect the i9100 on boot up. This is normal if your phone is working properly. You can also one-click back to EL26 stock to get rid of it, but then you have to go through the process of re-formatting the partition.
If it is working fine, I would use Triangle Away. If not, you will probably need to start over with a one-click exe.
