Hi all, i recently bought a new touch panel for my HOX couse the old one is semi working due a fall. With great surprise i see that the original lcd is literally attached to touch glass. So trying to remove original touch, is equal to break original LCD. And this happen to me. However, i bough the a new lcd and finally remount my HOX. But there something strange. The touch is in contact with the display, stange artifacts are visible on the screen on the contact points and the touch has only a semi working response. I've tried to move away the touch from the lcd to be sure that the new components are working...and infact are working well. So i understood thath i must use something to prevent the touch came in contact with the LCD. What can or must i use to complete the remount? Thanks

And that is the reason why you can find lcd panel + touch assembly (yes its more expensive), touch panel is already glued to lcd with "special" compound. It is not glued actually, more like adhesive compound.. When you broke lcd you should go for lcd+touch..
But you can check this one, maybe you find some answers :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720900 and here :http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-one-x-screen-repair-video.html

Hi, I am in dire need of help...
I dropped my phone, broke the screen and swapped it out for a brand new one. During the swap I managed to make a very small crack at the edge of the new screen... Now the top 3/4 inch doesn't respond.
I find this very strange since when my screen was completely shattered touch worked normally, but now a small crack and it doesn't work? Does that sound normal? Could there maybe be any other underlying problems?
Any help or input would be appreciated...
Thanks
You clearly don't like your DHD and DHD don't like you
Joke.
Well, this surely sounds like interesting but as far as i know, you managed to break the connectors of touchscreen during the replacement. Touchscreen fails (although not completely) = you clearly need a new one, if it is even possible to replace. And about the thing, that this didn't happen when u dropped the phone is because it might only damaged it a little and it still worked, but when changing the glass, the damage extended.
The touchscreen is a layered device. When you shattered it you only broke the outside layer. Sounds like you broke another layer plus the outside layer this time.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Layered digitizer, didn't know that. That makes sense to me because the crack in my new screen isn't superficial (meaning I can't "touch" the crack, it's on the inside I guess).
Thanks again, I guess I'm buying a new digitizer and hope that works, sucks not being able to touch the top portion of the screen!
Hi, I'm wanting to replace my HOXs screen.
There are yellow spots on the screen, does this mean I need to replace the lcd panel as well or if I just replace the glass/digitizer will this fix the yellow spots?
Also, I managed to fix a galaxy ace screen (glass/digitizer) by separating the digitizer from the lcd panel and the lcd panel is fine. I know it has been said it's not really possible to separate the two with the HOX but if I have managed to do it for the ace, do you think it's possible for the HOX??
Any thoughts would be appreciated
You don't really need to replace the screen if you have orange spots ,just put the screen on full brightness over night and your problems will be solved , if you want to replace the screen ,replace the whole thing as you said I have seen only one video out of 60 that the guy was successful in ceperating digitiser from LCD ,good luck
They will disapear after some time. I had the spots too.
Thanks for the replies.
Sorry I forgot to mention that the screen is cracked too. But my main concern was separating the lcd from the digitizer. I did do it for the ace and it was pretty easy buy if you think I would be better off to replace the panel and digitizer, then I'll do that.

The things is, the ace and the hox are very different devices. Just because you've managed to seperate digitizer and screen on the ace doesn't mean you could do that on the hox too. Just compare the space between LCD and digitizer of both devices and you'll see what I mean.

You wont manage to seperate the screen from the digitizer trust me, i tryed it and the glue is too strong + the lcd is too fragile.
Hello!
I just want to know what is broken on my HOX
I noticed that my screen sometimes doesn't recognize the gesture (swipe or tap) on a certain area
I researched a bit on testing HTC's touchscreen and used *#*#3424#*#* code and I got these results on the HTC's drawing test (see attachment)
is my LCD broken? or just the digitizer? i've read a few articles and it all points to the fact that the digitizer is the one broken. just asking here to confirm it.
Thanks for the confirmation!
I had the same issue. Seems only a digitizer problem, but I ordered complet (screen+digitizer+frame) as replacing only a digitizer is pain in a**.

It's the digitizer mate, try a factory reset just to be sure.
The problem is that if you need a new digitizer it's almost impossible to separate the LCD from your old digitizer, so you would need to buy the complete LCD and digitizer combined with frame, use etradesupply.com and you will get an original.
I also have the same issue as yours. only my phone has non responsive area abit higher than yours. Try press the upper part of your lcd(at the htc logo), I recovered mine by doing so although the fix is only temporary.
Hello everyone.
Months ago my Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 felt into the floor which cracked the screen.
The touch screen was working and the colors of the tablet were still good.
Later I went to a store to put a new front which resulted in what you can see in the attached pictures [I CAN'T UPLOAD PICTURES YET]. They did a really bad job.
I don't know if the problem is just the front screen or if the entire LCD needs to be replaced. The difference is quite big in terms of money.
Can you help me on this? What should I buy: only the front LCD or the entire screen and touch?
Thanks for your help.
Can you give me an explanation, please? I really need to understand why.

The digitizer+glass and the lcd are two different parts. If you see oddness in the screen display in terms of weird colors, stripes or artifacts, the lcd is broken. If touch doesn't work, or the glass is broken but it can still display normal colors etc, generally only the digitizer+glass needs replacement.

LCD Only: If the image under the glass is broken and the touch panel is NOT then you only need an LCD.
Touch Panel aka Digitizer: If the top touch panel or aka glass top is cracked or broken but the image under it is fine then you only need the Touch Panel.
Complete Screen with Touch Panel and LCD: If the top touch panel is broken and the lcd image is either black liquid or cracked you need a complete screen.

Thanks for the explanation.
So, I need the entire set. It's so expensive.
It's a shame that in the end the specs don't count so much. If we drop our toy, all depends on the screen.

Your best bet would probably to send it to Samsung (maybe its under warranty or can make and exception), plus samsung probably warrantys their work.
or find a new /used lcd with the digitizer already pre-attached so its a easy install.
Hi folks.
I've cracked the screen of my LG G3 and want to give one of the 'screen replacement' kits from eBay a go.
However, how can I tell if my digitizer is deffinitely broken as well?
There is one big crack from the top to the bottom of my screen, about 3/4 of the way across from the left of the device. Everything to the left of the crack (most of the screen) works fine, whereas everything to the right is unresponsive. Does this sound like the digitizer if broken as well, or is the cracked glass just prohibiting it from recognizing the touches?
The LCD it's self appears completely undamaged.
Does it sound like I need to just try replace the glass, or should I probably be looking for a glass+digitizer kit replacement?
Thanks everyone!
Well I feel stupid.
After doing a bit more research I've found out that the digitizer basically is the glass, so I can't replace one without the other - so it was a pointless question
