Stock because everything works and its not slow wait a week or so then we'll talk
hrm, I kinda agree with what he said .
Super excited for all the work being done though... but as a user with only 1 phone, I need to wait till things are a bit more stable.
best rom is over at android central
No Rom is the best yet lol. They are all the same Rom with apks (apps) added and removed. I mean really at the moment the only Rom that is actually different from any other Rom is my half ass working froyo build. This is the wrong section for this thread anyhow. Please post general question threads in q&a or general discussion, not the development forum.

Holy Crap, off topic... is your avatar the snowman from that Windows 3.1 skiing game? Where he comes out and eats you after you've gone too far?!
I am rocking OMJ's rom posted at ppcgeeks and loving it.

What toast said pretty much sums it up. Also, I've seen that posting questions like this can cause drama in the community. Be your own judge and try them all. Different strokes...
No such thing as the best rom as every user will have different opinions and like different things.
Usually opinionated threads like these are frowned upon on XDA as they create endless long threads with no real anser due to everyone having different opinions. For these reasons I am closing thread.....oh and moving it to Q&A due to it not being development related
Why doesn't the development section have stickied root and recovery methods? What kind of moderators are on this forum? Every phone besides this one have root and recoveries stickied since they are the most popular and most accessed threads. Kinda dumb if you ask me........
Diplomatic.

wow sure the epic has like wht 7 roms
and the evo has lets see about 50
whos the more supported phone?
retard ur almost as dumb as the troll
tho I'm with ya guys when it comes to people from another forum *****ing about ours....but OP has a point!
why don't we have the root methods and recoveries stickied at the top??
Not to get flamed, but it's not a terrible idea.
So PM a moderator and ask them (maybe without the attitude).
The issue is that a bunch of 12 year olds think they can write code and mod stuff. then that's how there are 50 such ones. the fact is, we need a sub folder for ONLY mods. however, the issue is that the threads are full of useless information that is a waste of my time. I'm not going to read 100 pages of crap. However, when we post asking where something is, they are like "oh search" but when we search, it's pointless because it never gives us what we want.

isn't this what your asking about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865204
was at the top of the page....... with this title " READ FIRST! - Rooting, Solutions to Problems, the Answer to Life "
in the Q&A sections. the dev section is for devs to post things(roms and such)and you can ask them ?s about their stuff(not random ?s about other thing) questions go in Q&A and general. just saying
Sigh..... If you can't find what you are looking for using xda search (which I do most of the time) then try googling it. If you are patient, and are willing to try several search terms, you will find what you are looking for. Then as you get used to using a search engine, you will subconciously learn how it works and get better and better at choosing search terms.
I am not an arrogant mod, or someone who has a little knowledge and therefore feels superior to you. When it comes to developing, modding, etc, I am pretty clueless on how to do it myself. So in the absence of knowledge, resourcefulness is my key to this world, try it.
Is there any way to dualboot a desire? Like dhd?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
wrong section dumbass and no there is no dualboot
^ Haha
but yeah man this should be in Q&A! getting sick of all these questions in the development forum
Easy solution: only devs should have permission to create new threads in dev section (duh!).
Wrong section but its a great idea that would not work too little memory on the phone inself to run a dual boot. so could a Mod just close this as it is completely pointless.
@howdid, You made my day lol

How 'bout reviewing new threads by mods? (Hypocritical suggestion, I know).
That's a fairly standard option on a lot of forums, in some sections only specific categories of posters can start a new thread ( Mods and recognized developer should cover it here). Everyone else has to submit a new thread for mod approval. If implemented it would stop these "random questions" and d******s who post "hey i'm using this rom but can't be a***d reading the rom thread and gosh this is so important i'm gonna start a new thread

Good idea but don't forget not all people with low post counts post before they think, also i have seen noob type mistakes from senior members with 500+ posts before now.
The better idea is devs only being able to make new threads.
Maybe giving to top 3 devs mod status for entire Desire section. I'm confident they're capable more than enough to keep this place tidy.
with some basic search he could find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15442534
Hmmm maybe 2 moderator per section is not enough we need more then 4...that's all...personally I don't have any prob. with noobs but at-least read the section rule....
BTW let see... does how desire is capable to run dual.boot...
I clicked that with expectations.
well I posted in the apps section for beta testers for a multiboot app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182325 since it's not rom development but then saw this thread and figured i'd link here if anyone's interested...

Granted the OP could have searched and found his question has been asked already,
BUT
1. Was this originally posted wrongly in the Dev section then moved???? If not, why in the h** are people freaking out about ANYONE asking a question in the Q&A (QUESTION and answer) forum?????????????????????
2. The Desire has the same size nand as the Nexus one, we have apha rev with custom MTD partions and Hboots. One would think that if this is possible on the Nexus one, it should be on the Desire.
3. As someone else said, post count and join date do not necessarily reflect one's amount of knowledge. Some people lack common sense about where to post, others are lazy. No matter what the forum rules are that will never change.
Respectfully,

Yep it was, although it could be better said to just be moved in the Q&A Forums, instead of feeding this post with 15+ responds about the same fact.
Anyway I think this thread should either be continued on the topic or closed.
Sorry for off-topic.
to answer the op question, at the moment no, but uncorrupted has been working on dual booting but hasnt had much joy, there is a thread about it, he'll be starting work again soon

I just rooted my new T989. Now for a good custom rom or two. I'm not asking what is the best custom rom out but rather:
1. What are some of the most popular custom roms out and why are they popular.
2. What are some good ones that are faster (yet stable) than stock, which ones have better camera quality (I think the vibrant camera is better without flash), and which are overclockable but stable?
Thanks!
Edit: Sorry I'm a super noob. I tried searching yet I don't know how to find the info I'm looking for. I accidentally posted this in the wrong section. Would the correct section be the Q and A?
Remember this is not a flame thread. I'm not asking what is the best rom. But rather what are some of the most popular (popular doesn't mean best) ones that people talk about the most. A good 3-5 would suffice.
Should of read the dev section or use the search. Be prepared for the flaming to begin unil this thread is closed.

I consider http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455292 to be the best most stable full functioning rom. But read the threads flash around and find your own favorite

Seriously people...the guys is new to using the amazing forums here! Some of you joined 2 months ago and you never once posted a useless thread or asked an already answered question? Give him a break, he admitted his fault so instead of criticizing and shaming why not help and just point in the right direction?
I have been slammed by you guys before and the only reason I put up with the"I am better than you attitudes"is because the majority of users aren't always looking to find fault or ridicule others who are seeking knowledge from experienced users.
So let's try to be a little nicer to noobs looking for guidance especially when they admit their mistake in the op!

I am not saying bash the OP but you shouldn't be telling anyone how to act since you apparently didn't read the whole thread. The 2 posts you quoted were made before the OP admitted his mistake. They are the reason why he admitted his mistake. If you look at the OP you will see that it was edited 20 minutes or so after it was originally posted, after his mistake was brought to his attention. I am not saying it was brought to his attention in a very helpful manner.
If you want to see the most popular, you can sort by views on the Development forum. But the MOST popular is Juggernaut 5.0.
Remember learn to survive n this forum, theres lot of people who think they r better than others, dont have a life and the only entertaiment is to flame people post! For those flamers.....I know you have a pathetic life because of that... GET A LIfE!

Yes, in before the lock I moved the thread. I have to say it's encouraging to see so many trying to help instead of just flaming. However, best ROM or similar threads never last, nevermind those posted in Development. To the OP, learn to use search, read, study, and try things on for size.
To try and help kerb the amount of topics posted with the Title "Whats the best ROM" I thought I'd try to create a poll so that people can post their favourites, and then hopefully people can check here rather than ask with a new topic.
If this has been done/is in the wrong section or shouldn't be posted then please, mod's feel free to close or delete this thread.

Well no, we dont "Need" one, but lately I saw alot of topics about "Best ROM?"
With people asking, so I thought I'd be a better idea to have one where they can just look at the poll, and see that the "publics" favourite rather than asking.
I just thought it would be helpful to the XDA forums to keep down the repetitive topics created, but next time I shant bother.
It's only because these sort of threads end up as flame wars and get closed off

Well they can close it if they want to.
I was trying to help the mod's by trying to stop all of the topics titled:
"What is Best ROM?"
"Best Custom ROM?"
"Fastest Custom ROM?"
"Most popular Custom ROM?"
I've been made to feel a **** 3 times in as many days on this forum.
I thought there was a nice community here.
If they want to close this, and keep moderation of all the different topics created about this issue, then thats their choice.
As I said, next time I will not bother and will let them do it theirselves.

I've been a MiUi user since I got a Desire a couple of years ago. On the OneX I've been using Dekky's RD-MiUi (recently switched to the Jellybean version) and its simply great every week.
