(Q) Google play Music - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So whoever I use Google play music and I open the app drawer the music cracks. (stops for a split second) the picks right back on. What I've noticed is that it only does it when opening an app or clicking a link. Not when I'm typing or scrolling. Anyone else have this? Also only noticed this on ASOP roms not touch wiz. And only with play music not Apollo or any third party music apps. And this a recent issue (last month or so of ASOP roms)

It's a known issue currently being fixed. You can test out the nightlies being released by Liquidsmooth if you like. Some have reported no longer having that issue. Just so you're aware some of the 3.4 kernels may still give you issues though.

If you flashed gapps you can just download a music player from the Play Store

From what I can tell, latest gapps packages are dropping music player so people move over to the Google Play Music app, which I like, but many do not.

I don't think gapps ever had a music player to it.

Pull the one out of CM9. I just flashed AOKP and saw the music player disappear so will be doing this tonight as well.

Lost CM9 beta 3 music app

I just downloaded beta 4, which replaced my music app. I haven't been able to find the stock android 2.3 music app with the controls in the notification drawer. Anyone still on beta 3 willing to put that up?

If you can hold on a little bit i can get the .apk for you and upload it
Edit:
Wait, can you post a screenshot as to what it looked like? cause you might be thinking of google music?
because i dont think CM9 ever used android 2.3 .apks? it mightve used apollo, but i highly doubt it.
Try going into the Play Store and downloading google music.

One little issue with Google music player

One little issue with Google music player, see the screenshot...
cm9 music player works fine but with stock music player it's not showing information of the song sometimes... :/
Is this normal on Jelly Bean Preview and does others have same problem..?

I would not think this is normal for JB. I have not personally experienced this before.

Haven't experienced it.
I am not experiencing that problem. Factory reset? Or try a different music player from the Play Store.
Ok, Thanks for your replies. I try to fix it somehow and if I can't fix it then I have to use CM9 music player..

What is making Google play music to not stream Gapless play back?

On every TW rom now that I've noticed Google play music doesn't seem to have gapless playback anymore. I thought it was a kernel issue but it wasn't the case. Any aosp rom like cm seems to have it. Why not tw all of a sudden??

Bump
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I wanted to bump this after updating my Play Music to today's latest version, featuring All Access. OP says that they've gotten gapless playback out of Play Music on AOSP ROMs, but not TW. I haven't gotten it to work on any kind of ROM, and it's really frustrating. I want to leave Spotify for All Access, but Spotify's gapless streaming is a huge draw for me, and I'm just not understanding why I'm not experiencing the same thing when it's advertised as a feature of Play Music.
edit: wanted to clarify that I don't have gapless playback with local files, either.
Same boat here. I'm about ready to switch from Spotify to All Access, but lack of gapless playback is a big mark against Google Play.

It really sucks because I had Gapless playback in the beginning of January, then ever since mid January I lost that feature and never gained it back. Idk if it's a line of code that all gs3 devs are using to tweak their rom that's causing the feature to disappear, or if it's a Google error. My cousins gs4 has it and he's on stock non rooted TW. You don't know how frustrated I was when I heard one of my favorite live albums back to back on his phone when I can't on mine.
