Hello
My htc one x was running cyanogenmod 10.1 and then I restored it back to my htc sense. After that I erased all the data on my phone and now I can't get root access..is my phone unrooted. Do I have to root it again?

Was the back up you restored, rooted? When you erased you didn't delete the SU app by the way, did you?

First of all, the backup you restored must be rooted. If not you have to root. Then you must have a SU app to manage SU requests.

The backup I restored was rooted. I took that backup before installing the rom. But after that deleted everything.

Do you have SU app? Superuser or Super SU?
Sent from my GT-N8000 using Tapatalk HD
No. So that means I have to root my phone again?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Install one via play store. Superuser by koush is recommended.
Then the program will tell you that you're rooted or not.
If I helped, hit thanks.

After installing supersu from the playstore and starting it... It shows the following message
"There is no superSU binary installed and supersu cannot install it. This is a problem."

Uninstall supersu and then flash this in recovery.

I did not find any recovery image in that superSU.zip folder. It was just system and META-INF.

I just rooted and flashed the recoveries and it seems to be working ok. however I can't backup my stock rom using the twrp. It will say something like unable to mount sdcard and unable to recreate android secure folder etc. I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with my sd card and I am not sure if there is something else I have to do before I try to backup anything. Any help would be much appreciated!
Try clockworkmod recovery....

I did this from the stock deodexed rom and I don't see the mms app installed after reboot. I'm on 100%stock rom but I used a deodexed version is that why? My computer broke and my backup of stock is on it and not on my phone. I could try to fix it but so far nothing is working so my backup as far as I'm concerned is gone. Any ideas?

Im trying to see if i missed somthin, i flashed a stock rom 4.2.1 using latest twrp recovery then i used root keeper to backup my root, then went into settings n hit system update.after it all loaded up i ran root keeper again n rerooted
I can not install recovery for WFS with all the CWM and TWRP recovery. When using cmd to install recovery, then everything is fine but when the recovery is just a black screen or just the HTC screen. Even when using all in one kit everything remains unchanged.

Solved the problem. I uninstalled any su apps in the Rom and downloaded the latest from clockwordmod and installed from recovery and it took that time.
