Hello, I recently installed htc home on my wm6 8525 (running At&t official wm6) and want to disable the clock that appears on the upper right corner of the phone while on the today screen. I used HTC Custom and under the "clock display" feature i enabled "none". Upon restart the clock gets disabled but part of my signal icon is also deleted so i see just half of the signal icon and a gap where the time used to be displayed at. Is this a glitch? or Is there another app available to try to disable the time? Thanks in advance.
Hi Folks,
I have been using the unlocked version of the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 for well over a month now. The 'Camera' option on the left hand side of the Home Screen is pretty frustrating as a slight touch in there opens up the camera. Does anyone out there know how to remove the 'Camera' option and replace it to something more useful like 'Messaging'?
Secondly, I have been having issues with the timezone settings. The timezone at times automatically changes from the timezone that I have set (IST) to GMT. I have figured out a temporary workaround for this, i.e. Unchecking the 'Automatic change time zone and clock' under Settings>Phone>Time Zones. However, whenever I restart my device this option is automatically checked and more often than not the timezone is changed to GMT. This is really frustrating as all my call logs and calendar entries pick up the wrong time.
Any solutions to the above problems?
Thanks,
Devesh
Hey, i received my desire yesterday and i love it but i cant work out how to do two things,
1. Remove the slide lock screen and just have the pattern? It seems stupid to have to push the button on top, then slide the thing down and then put in a pattern.
2. Make the clock display either my current location through A-GPS or the town that i have put into world clocks? At the moment it either displays United Kingdom or "current location".
Thanks

Delete the clock widget and then add it again, you can select which location it uses.
That worked, Thanks.
Any was to solve the first problem?
I'm also getting a notification about once an hour telling me to set current time when i click on it, it says
unable to detect your current time zone. tap below to select a city. i have to click on GMT+1 but as this is the only option why does android keep asking me?
Thanks

Welcome to the world of Android. Its fiddly at first but will soon become your best friend
I assume your issue comes when the phone can't detect where you are in the world by using your phones network. When that happens, it prompts you to tell it where you are so it can keep things up to date.
Mine did the same, I resolved it by choosing where I was and after a few times it stopped.
If it continues (and becomes VERY annoying) try this:
Menu > Settings > Date & Time > Untick "Automatic" at the top of that screen and set your date, time zone and time manually
Hope that helps

Yeh that fixed it, thanks.
is there no way to change the lock screen then?

I assume you mean the pattern unlock? If so you could try slide unlock similar to the iPhone one.... not tried it myself but if you search for slide unlock in these forums you should find it
No way to change the lock screen. On the G1 you used to be able to press menu which would put you straight on pattern unlock and bypass the lock screen. On the Desire for some reason the only way you can turn it on is via the power button =/
Question on how to set up which settings appear in the "quick settings" area
I may not be referring to the "Quick Settings" area by the proper name, but it's the group of settings available when you pull down from the notification bar twice. On my HTC One M8, there were a number of options to select from, and I could choose which settings I wanted there, and in what order. The settings in there included things like WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Auto Rotate, Brightness, Sound Profile, DND, etc. In the current analogous area for the HTC 10 some, but not all, of the settings I'd like to be able to control appear, and I see no way to change the selection, or even to change the arrangement of the settings that do appear.
I'm sure there's a way to change the settings that appear, and the order they appear in. Can someone who has figured this out please share the secret?
Thanks!
Nope.....

Hidden System UI Tuner/Quick Toggles customization feature
Hi all -
Trying to see if this is normal behavior or a bug, but I have two notifications on my lock screen (Messages and Outlook). When I unlock the device, in the top left, I just see the clock and "AT&T". When I drag the status bar down, I see my messages and outlook notifications (they are not silent or minimized). Why would I want to see AT&T instead of these notifications? Is there an option I'm missing to remove the carrier info?
I'm having the same issue, you are not alone. I spent more than an hour going through every single setting, but found nothing on how to fix this issue.

Just to try and narrow the issue, are you also on an AT&T device?
Fair enough, my apologies.
I have Sprint, and this is happening on my Galaxy S20.

I think that is actually super helpful information. This appears to be a OneUI issue, rather than an android, carrier, or particular model issue. So it needs to somehow get reported to Samsung for a fix... Does anyone here know if there a public place where Samsung tracks bugs for these devices?
Or does anyone know a writer who would pick up this story for a media outlet to shine some light?
Just to try something, have you toggled the setting in status bar section that says show all notifications?
I'm taking about opening quick settings toggles, pressing the three dots menu and then status bar.
I hadn't tried that, no. However, I just did and that didn't change anything.
My wife has an S20 Ultra on AT&T, and she's seeing this as well. I know there's a way to request support or post your issue to the community in the Samsung Members app. I may try to do that from her phone later today.
I've had issues with app notifications and icon badges since the S8, they never seem to get them to work properly

UPDATE
I was using the trial for Sprint's Call Screener program. I turned it off earlier, and now I no longer see "Sprint" in the status bar. I see the icons like I should. I have no idea if that is what solved the problem or not, but I didn't receive an update today and that's the only thing I can remember changing.
Go to settings, display and change 'Full screen Apps' to Auto for all
I played with that setting. It didn't have an affect on the notification issue.

Vinsuja, that setting did not work for me, however you sent me on the right path. I have had this same issue with notification not showing. I found that the camera cut out setting is causing this. Go to settings > display > full screen apps > click 3 dots for advanced settings > turn on hide camera cutout. This adds a black bar at the top, but fixes the notification issue
Edit: You can turn the setting back off and notifications will appear. This seems to be an issue with the full screen UI
Try using QuickStar in Good Lock (if you don't have good lock yet, its in the galaxy store). Under "visibility of indicator icons" you can turn off "Network Information" on homescreen, lockscreen and Expanded QS panel, that should hide your AT&T/Sprint etc etc label in the status bar. Interestingly enough I have a Bell S20, by default for my region carrier name is not shown.. which is a bonus...
