How exactly do you reboot to recovery ?
1) do you turn off phone and than using vol down button and power button and go to recovery ?
2) or you directly go by power button > reboot > recovery
This may not work everytime especially on cm7 coz you'll be stuck onwhite htc screen.
I use 1 option and i think you should try it and then tell.

thanks for reply im using imac but do have access to pc computer not recogonising phone/sd card?
Which recovery ROM are you using?
I use ClockworkMod, which has the option to mount the SD card, even if the OS is not running. Maybe you could try to put another ROM to your SD card and try to install it after a wipe.

bro
it is restarting non stop
what shall i do else ???????????????
1) Take out and reinsert battery.
2) Hold down volume down and power button, release power button but keep holding down 'volume down' button.
3) Phone will boot into bootloader, use volume up/volume down to navigate and power button to select. Choose 'factory reset'.
BTW, are you running as stock unrooted ROM or a rooted custom ROM? And do you have a recovery installed? (ClockworkMod or 4ext). If you have recovery then you can boot into recovery from the bootloader and in recovery choose 'factory reset (wipe data)'.

A couple things here, how do you know you are unrooted and running 2.2 if you're stuck in a boot loop? Can you boot into hboot? If so can yo write down everything on that screen? Can you boot into recovery at all? What if you remove your sdcard? Like someone said in the other post you had did you leave a pc10img.zip on sdcard?

By choosing recovery from advanced menu option shoundt cause an issue, and definetly won't bring you back to stock froyo, something else happened, can you remember? Can you get into the os at all?

i hadnt selected anything from advanced menu...i selected recovery from one of three options that come pressing power button when phone is on...and yes i can get into os...but restarts aftr a while....
That's what I meant, selecting recovery from within the power menu options will not cause an issue and will not cause your phone to unroot itself and jump back a few OSs.
So some other key info is missing, if you don't recall or don't know what it is that's fine. Can you boot into your bootloader and write down everything on that screen here. Also try to turn on debugging and use adb to reboot into recovery, tell me what happens

Hey guys.
Can't turn on my phone. It keeps rebooting.
Can't go into recovery mode or download mode.Whenever i try to enter recovery or download mode, after a few seconds it reboots.
It is currently running Touchwi5 ROM build 5. I have been using it for awhile then suddenly, the phone reboots.

first take out your phone battery to make sure it not on 'on' condition..and then press home+volume up+power together..make sure home button+volume up button not release after phone boot..it will go to recovery mode..after that try wipe cache, wipe dalvik and do fix permission..it should be ok..if that not work, flash again rom and gapps..do it pristine..

Yes, that's if u still have the zip in your sd card or your external sd card. If u deleted the zip file of the rom (touchwi5) u need to use odin to flash stock rom and start all again.

You Don't Need To Do That ...
Just Copy From The Computer The Rom U Want Then, Paste In Your SdCard ..
Back The SdCard To Your Mobile Again ...
ReInstall The Rom Again ...

Flash the xposed framework and select at least the APM mod......makes powering off easy
i installed xposed with toolbox now but i dont find anything to change power options
I have no clue anymore what you are looking for anyway, a way to power off the phone ?
Hit it real hard with a heavy hammer !
I never used it, i am running viper and it has APM built in to acces the quick menu's and settings
i want it to when i press long power button taht it keeping off and not starting again when i remove finger from button

Not gonna happen, power button is hard coded to simulate a battery pull and reboot by default on longpress.
Turn it off via other methods !
and my keyboard on phone also dont have an "Y" button
Y .....mine does....see : small one y and capital Y You seem to have weird problems. ...
now a not weird problem
my brightness keeps being on full. I doesnt change anything when i change it on settings to lower or higher. it stays bright
Flash another rom or reflash the rom with a FULL wipe. It's a issue that is unlikely to happen on a so close to stock rom. And read the rom thread, check AND search if there are more reports of that problem !
I did not have this on stock and now i also don't have it on Viper X.
