I have a few general and a few specific questions regarding storage:
1. Why did Samsung create 2 directories for internal storage? It has regular internal storage and "SD" storage but both are really internal storage. Why not just make one big partition and SD storage is actually your removable SD card (this is how it was on the OG EV) Someone please explain this to me if you know the answer.
2. On CM9 rom how do you save apps and their data to a external SD card? I'm trying to install a Gameloft game but it's saying I don't have enough space available which I certainly do.
3. On TW based ICS roms how do you save apps w/ data on the actual external sd card? Possibly planning on trying out Rujelus' rom so I'd like to know before hand.

The OG evo didnt have an emmc partition. It had internal storage dedicated to things like app storage, same as any other phone. You cant mount internal storage to your PC so combining these would be a waste of space.
You might be able to push game data from emmc to the sd card and they might still locate it but I have never tried as I never fill up my emmc, I just keep everything else on the sdcard. But worth a shot.

I don't quite get your reply but to make things easier for myself what is the best way to format the SDcard. I am talking about the internal SDcard not my actual removable micro SD card. I know there is an option in storage but I don't know what SD card its referring to.

Just remove your external then hit the format option in storage. And if you move back to the fd16 kernel on cm9a3 you will be much happier with the way the storage is handled.

I don't want to lose my files though? What can I do other than format it?

Formatting it is the only thing that might be able to revive it. To backup, download Solid Explorer, turn your phone to landscape mode (you can see two panels in landscape and only one in portrait), navigate in one of the panels to your ext. SD and in the other panel your internal SD. Copy all the stuff you want to keep from your internal SD to your external SD and then format it.

If he cannot access the internal storage then trying to use Solid Explorer is useless.
Try to dump the partition to the external SD (use an external SD card larger than the internal memory):
dd if=/devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0 of=/storage/sdcard1/full_dump_internal_sd
You might be able to use a linux box to check the filesystem - the file on external storage named full_dump_internal_sd (should be ext4 formatted as far as I know).

So I just put that into terminal?
Yes, but make sure that you have enough room on the external SD card to be able to backup the data.
Hi
I will swap memories on my Ace 2.
But I would know how to move apps on USB storage (which will be my SD Card).
If i part my sd card in ext2, can I make 2 partitions (9GB & 5GB) ? And does Link2SD will "know" that my USB Storage is my SD Card?
Thanks

1: In system settings select apps/[name]/"move to SD", or in Link2SD use the button with the same name. This moves part of the app to the internal (external after swapping) FAT partition and doesn't work for every app.
2: In Link2SD use the "symlink" features and the app will always go to the external ext2/3/4 partition.
Hello,
Phone: Samsung galaxy grand i9080L.
Now the question:
Am i able to make a single partition of internal storage? Because the phone came with 8 gb but it have 2 partitions on the internal memory, "System" and "Internal SD" , I just wanna a single one to control better things and as if i move to "SD" Its going to the internal SD and the external (MicroSD) Is not on use -_-

You cannot use the system partition as it's reserved for the OS.Don't mess up with it, doing so may/will brick your phone If you are on Stock or ANY ROM with App2SD support you can move apps to External SD Card. Check whether your ROM supports App2SD or not.

I can't, that's why, app2sd move em' to "sdcard0" which means (in my phone) emulated/0/ (Folder) and not to the external sd card. Already tryied many ways and still same, and well so.
What i wanted to do? as "system" is the internal storage i wanted to merge it with "emulated" which is the internal storage but in a partition to emulate a External SD Card so if its only 1 internal storage the microSD will work as it should work, because on my older phone(Ice mobile apollo touch) I was able to see apps, data, etc, on microsd as only had 1 internal storage.. Now as the sdcard is even in the internal , the external is empty. Its a problem too for cracked applications that need data/obb.

4.2.2 supossed to be stock, downloaded from sammobile to my operator/country as my ROM was literaly "f*ck*d" for a stupid thing i did so.
I just searched GT-i9080L and the latest android(4.2.2) was the one i downloaded, btw, the partition came with the phone, wasn't made by me or a rom and also, the phone didn't come new, i bought it from 2nd hand.
In Grand Internal memory will be shown as sdcard0 and External memory will be shown as sdcard1. Is external storage i.e. Sdcard1 mounting for you?

If i use a explorer i can only see 2. SDCard and internal memory, if i search through internal memory i'll find a folder called emulated, inside, another called 0, inside, all the things that should be on sdcard, which means that this "emulated" emulates a sdcard inside the phone. and yeah, external sd = sdcard1.
internal sd(emulated) = sdcard0
internal memory = internal memory o.o
External is actually /extSdcard on stock ROMs afaik.

I know right, but it isn't used as Sdcard, the sdcard that it uses its a emulated sdcard INSIDE the internal memory.

will it work on s2 plus
I remember there being a mod for the note 2 that would essentially replace the internal memory with whatever SD card you had....that way apps that only ran on "internal" memory could be installed on devices with limited memory via SD card...they did it by swapping the mount points, essentially making a 128gb tab s...any idea if that could be done here?
Yes you can

It is possible but not as that easy way; you have to erase the target sd card and also have to start from zero your tab S; also need to root your tablet and format the sd card as the same format that you have on your sd card. There is a procedure but I don't remember where.
