what kind of difference ur expecting? this app helps u free unused memory so ur apps can run smoother (esp game) without u having to manually close unused apps
When i turn it to hard gaming the hd games are still laggy.

alternatively, u can use task manager designed for gaming mode (free up to 150mb RAM) but u have to reboot ur hp after that...and change ur governer too...performance for best performance but less battery life xD sometimes some games e.g. Modern Combat 4 lags because of the heavy graphic (they're meant for Tegra anyway
btw here's the link for the task killer (do note that tweaks and kernels contribute much to game smoothness too)

hello
ive got a little question, it's not a problem but it disturbs me a little bit.. ive tweaked my xperia arc to the max.. doomkernel, supercharger v6 etc. but when scrolling down or up in settings theres not shadow animation, like the names like Security & Locations bluring a little bit like on the arc S of my friend.. anyone has those animations on the arc? because it seems to lag without them..
thanks =) !!
You mean overscroll?
I have them on my Arc.
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
no no thats when it touches the edge and glows up i have that yes but on the arc S there is an animation that creates a shadow on the icons while scrolling down the list, with red design the icons turn red in settings and with blue into blue etc.. this looks very cool.. and my settings just lag.. :S
I don't have that kind of animation on my Arc.
But the settings don't lag.

doesn't it stutter a lil bit? especially when you've only got ~100 mb of free ram?
Well, I think it's smooth and I have ~60MB RAM free
Use a task killer or something like System Info Widget to get the free RAM.
Under settings cached apps aren't counted in and you have more free, but you have much less in real.
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
okay lol but then it seems to run out of memory very fast doesnt it?
It "just" has 512MB, 60MB free RAM are normal for these kind of phones.
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
okay with widgetsoid it shows 67mb to me is that okay then?
Yeah, that's normal
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
I've always about 130-170 MB free RAM. But I'm using a auto kill task manager.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to run gta 3 more smoothly on my wonder?
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
Did you use a custom rom or stock rom?
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I agree, it always chrashes on my phone, havent tried to solve it though. V6 supercharger might help, also Gamebooster Root (paid app) might help. Im not sure because i havent tried. Please report if you get some improvement

i played gta 3 with no lags
Maybe you can try to set cpu governor to perfomance (means it will run at 1.4Ghz all the time). This helped me with other games, but I haven't played gta 3.

Will that cost battery?
Sent from my bananaphone.
Of course it will cost you battery. More than "ondemand"
Cause the CPU Speed is always at 1,4GhZ; which is alot.
And your device may get very hot..

I also couldn't remove ultra gaming mode from game booster. Have removed the app, now my phone seems like it is out of ultra gaming mode because its not as hot as it used to be

Hi y'all. I'm a noob. PC gaming is easy enough to understand when it comes to system requirements, but I can't figure out when a game will lag or not for our beloved W until I install it or try it. Is there an easy way to know? How does our phone stack up to the big boys when it comes to gaming?
I bought this phone for its nice processor speed hoping it would be good for games. So far I've been slightly disappointed. 3D games have been laggy. I'm using CM9 a8.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

our device isnt for gaming. it just has an adreno 205 gpu, which was released in 2010. its very old and not good for real 3d games.
But I dont know where you can see if you can run a game or not. but some games has in the description, which devices are supported.

Is game booster similar to supercharger v6? Have you tried using chain fire with cm9 ? It appears to work only on gingerbread.

supercharger is a ram fix, which gives you better multitasking and avoid launcher-restarts. I dunno if it makes a difference in games, I guess not.
chain fire optimize the game and your driver.
game booster disable some background proceses and gave the game the most cpu+gpu priority. but it also do something on the ram settings. dunno if its good to run v6 and game booster.

It works. I already tried it in cm9 based rom. I used indroid remics and it helps me a lot. When i'm playing hd games the graphics only shows white screen
. So i use chainfire and there it is working smooth with no problem.

I try those 2 together but it seems no problem though. In my opinion v6 is used for multitasking in daily use didn't affect for playing games i guess. But game booster increases performance for gaming only.
Correct me if i'm wrong

The Galaxy W has 512mb ram !
He ask if there is a solution for this problem and maybe he can add more memory (RAM)
Thank you !

hi, actually you can expand the ram using swap. but you have to flash to cow kernel first, cause it got swap function. try this software RAM EXPANDER
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.swapit.expander.de&hl=EN_US
but there is disadvantage. if you wanna use your device as usb mass storage, first you need to un-swap first then restart the phone. otherwise you pc cant recognise the memory card.
What kind of bug can you get using a stock rom? Especially when you bought it like a few days ago.

if you have questions or you face errors please check home page or write a mail
for more details see home page

install sd-booster (free from google play) games are much smoother after using it.
I garantuee, that none of the mentioned tweaks will help you
Game performance is not limited by SD-card performance nor by some secret setting, which gets enabled by Tweaks or something.
Chainfire was discontinued a long time ago, and i guess it does not even work / have an effect under ICS.
Simply, get a clean ROM like CM9, this brings you the latest drivers, end especially a clean basis with stable memory setting etc.
Also consider enabling Kernel Samepage Merging and a BigMem-Kernel, uninstall snakeoil-tools that run in the background.
Thats it.

Soorrry... Snake-Oil tools? Means? And does SD Card Classes affect game performance? :sly:
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app
I think CM10 will always have less gaming performance than CM9 because on jb v-sync and triple buffering are always active and they use gpu resources.

I wanted to express, that running a bunch of applications in the background does not help with performance.
Although theryre killed sooner or later, some tools (meant for tuning, energy savings..) may stay in memory.
The term "snake-oil" means the believe in something that claims to do miracles, but in reality cannot hold their promise

Naturally it does, but mostly while loading and not during actual gameplay.
I assume, some resource-intensive games stream data from sd card while playing, but this should not be a problem with a normal sd card.
Even if so, it would only remove little hangs, but not increase framerate in a narrower sense.
