Proxy service - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys, pretty simple question I want to know if any of y'all use proxy apps for your phone, and if so what it is. I'm looking for something that rerouts all traffic through a proxy so I can get around a school firewall. If you have one in mind let me know!
Thanks!

Asking is someone would be a doner...

I've tried all day to get wimax connected to my epic 4g touch but no luck. Can anyone pm me a doner Mac id? I'm asking if its OK to ask, don't wanna get banned lol. But .3mbps? Rly? Thank u guys

Why would someone want to give you their wimax Mac? Having a different Mac address isn't going to get you better reception.
Can someone tell me why I don't have option to set the Mac?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Lol why would anyone give you their Mac address. If you want one that bad just go to best buy or a sprint kiosk at the mall and copy one of those Mac addresses.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Because your MAC id is from the hardware. It's not a software setting. There is a specific software for editing things like that. You will not be able to change from within the phone.
And as others have stated, you cannot get better reception by changing this. This is just an identifying piece of information. The only reason you would need to change this, is to illegally acquire service. And, yes this is not a topic for this forum.

[Q] new unlimited. Still tether?

I've seen a couple threads and I'm a bit confused.
I know the new plan doesn't have wifi hotspot... Not like that service really mattered.
Was wondering for those who are on the new plan. Can you still tether?

I'm just gonna put my two cents in, I'm not on the plan, might get the s3 with this plan. But, from my knowledge, there is no way for them to know what's using your data unless you're on a stock ROM.

I was wondering this very question myself.
Tethering is still working for me after I made the switch yesterday. Hopefully I don't get charged though.. even though I don't use tether, it's good to know that everything works on my phone. How would i know I'm being charged for it? I didn't receive any "warning" popups or anything like that before continuing.. do I just have to wait for my next bill??
I wonder if they can develop some methods that could detect your tethering and block it?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I had the tether feature free when i upgrade to 5G and now I'm on this new plan and the rep told me that i still keept my free tether and my other line will have it free as well...
but gosh Tmobile just got bad after they close the calls center with reps I had to talk to 4 people for one simple reason cause none of these new foreign knows what their talking about. so im not sure if i still have the tether will see.

Only by puting an APP on your device. I know a little bit about networking, and thats the only way. packets are packets. the user-agent is the only way to see what type of browser it is. but like i said before, a lot of android browsers use the desktop user agent.
But why would/should any carrier stop it? Especially if you are on a tiered plan. Its YOUR data, use it how YOU want. PERIOD. wethere you are streaming on your laptop, or streaming on your phone and using an MHL conector to your TV, its STILL streaming. Period.
Just got this, and i'm on the plan. also using stock rom.. http://offers.t-mobile.com/tethering/upsell.do?source=pcweb

For those unable to tether and being sent to that page, You could try using a different tethering app. Try foxfi, my dad is a tmo employee and doesnt have tethering on his plan, but says tethering works perfectly fine on his stock unrooted t989 with foxfi. I might also recommend cwm tethering.

They need to show that because they need a
fixed number. It's the same with minutes, i remember a while ago they had something like 999999 minutes. That's a long time ago though lol. But do you honestly think you'll use 10000GB lol

Yeah thats from the mobile site? They're probably slowly updating yo hide the number and showing unlimited instead... TMobile aren't exactly the best at web developing... Remember their slow and crappy websites when trying to check your usage. It's a tad better now lol.
Anyways, it looks like there are mixed reviews, but i assume native tethering is no good but some 3rd parties are still good? Keep the feedback coming fellas

Help. Tmobile Galaxy S3 wifi tether not conecting with ipod.

Hello guys hope any body around here can give any idea how to solve this problem.
I have a root stock samsung galaxy s3 with tmobile with 2 year contract also unlimited data, but i dont want to pay for the wifi tether. my problem is when my daughter wants to connect her 4generation ipod with my phone she cant. i try every app on play store but nothing. What can i do. Also if i found one app that work and she see the wifi when she try to connect it said unable to join network.
Get wifi teather on the app market and go to setting and change the device profile to galaxy nexus gsm and should work fine write back of u got problems
P.s the thanks button dont hurt if u click it

I let you know if work. thanks for the quick reply.
If that device profile doesn't work you can switch around with the generic ics wlan0 and 1, Samsung s3.. switch around until you can see it

Wifi tether in playstore work for me with my Samsung Tab or maybe Samsung S3 and Apple ipod they don't connect each other! lol. jk
Wifi tether creates an "ad hoc" connection. I doubt apple even knows what that is, let alone supports it. You're better off looking for a hack for the movie hot spot app. Gl

Unlimited tethering on s4 using slimbean

I have 3 lines, all with unlimited Internet but tmobil only allows 2.5gb of tethering. Currently using slimbean stable on my s4, how do I get unlimited tethering? I've tried Wify Tether app but it doesn't work.
I went into the apn settings and I see several options.
Any advice would be appreciative. Spent an hour trying to figure this out :/

Have they actually capped you? I used over 30gb last month... with native tether.... Otherwise use the search function and report back.... I'd like to know the answer also but too lazy to look
I don't think any AOSP Roms have the data cap hack. Most of the TW Roms have the hack baked into the system. You may wanna try TW before going over your data limit. I have unlimited and use tethering all the time also I use the Wi-Fi tether app instead of the native hot spot.

There is no such thing as a "data cap hack" there was one years ago, but it doesn't work anymore. All data traffic is now monitored via T-Mobile servers.

So I am stuck @ 2.5gb? I called TMobil to increase my tethering, they said NO.
I see people all over the forums saying they have unlimited tethering by hiding their data usage and they always emphasize not to abuse it. I am giving tmobil a good large sum of money, 200 bucks.
So nobody knows of a unlimited tethering method?
Been looking around, according to some, Cyanogen should already come with the necessary coding to allow unlimited tethering but than again I am using SlimBean which I do not know if that has anything to do with it.

Again, unlimited tethering is impossible through "coding." It is handled by T-Mobile servers. A little Googling would tell you what you have to do however, I always thought if you paid 15 bucks extra each month they would include unlimited tethering?

Yeah I have been google and xda searching, I'm obviously not looking correctly or do not know what exactly to look for. Been trying to use the app Wifi Tether for Root Users but it does not show my device, only the atnt model, it's useless so far unless if myabe I go to an older version maybe?
I dont mind paying 15 bucks but they said they do NOT offer unlimited tethering only web access.

OK, I am an admitted noob to this site, just joined today in fact, but that is only because I have been trolling these forums looking for a clear answer to this issue for weeks now. I also have TM and am capped. I use my mobile hot spot to do my homework for the online school I attend. and recently switched from the big V to TM because of the cost, and now I'm screwed. I have searched so many forums and term strings it is not funny. I have tried vpn, hotspot shield, private internet access, and a host of wifi tether apps, and have not found a working combo. I have even tried modifying strings using SQLite. Most app combinations will not activate hotspot, and those that do cause laptop browser to redirect to t-mobile sale page. I will beat them... I will. But I joined xda for a little help, if you anyone does not wish to give the easy answer, I absolutely understand, just please direct me to the forum that has solved this as I am not "yet" a dev, but I'm getting there.
my config:
Model: SGH-M919
Android Version: 4.2.2
Baseband: M919uvuamdl

Rooted using ODIN because at the time I had read Odin was the only way.

Using native tethering you get to share as much as you want what T-Mobile gets is that you used internet in your phone when in reality you were tethering I got like 60 GB each month most is by tethering

I've found that when I search and search and can't find something, it's because it was so fundamental a feature that it is automatically assumed people know how to use it.
What evidence do you have that T-Mobile is blocking your tethering after 2.5gb? Others have asked but it doesn't seem like that question has been answered. I have CM11 and have tethered like a fiend using the ROM's built-in hotspot feature, which the stock T-Mobile Account app doesn't even pick up on. Additionally I've been told that after 2.5gb, they don't block you, just throttle your speed down.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
I use User Agent Switcher addon for firefox and choose Googlebot under Search Robots. I never get throttled using this method, although some site are wonky like netflix.
Well, apparently I did not try enough software combinations. I have finally got it working using Hotspot Shield free, paired with WiFi Tether Router. My GS4 is only about 3 weeks old, so this is likely the newest solution.

Yeah Im still confused as well and I have also done a lot of research on the topic over the past few months.
Running AOSP, can we just use the native tethering (works great for me but then again i believe im still within the 2.5 gb of allotted tethering) or do we need to use the user agent switcher method?
Well since you guys are on the right track
You have a couple options:
1. (Prolly the best) Purchase or use a free VPN client ON YOUR DEVICE to encrypt ALL your data, now T-Mobile can't detect what the data is, its just data.
2. Use a User Agent switcher to change your user agent so it looks like the data is coming from a mobile device instead of a computer.
I wanna tether to my Ps3, I would like to know if it is possible to hide tethering as well. Tmobile is capped at 2.5, I found a way to do it on my Note 3, but my Ps3 wont connect that way, it only sees my S4, but like I said, its reached its cap limit.
