[Q] Clean USB Driver Install - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on my PC.
I intermittently get the "Device Hardware ID Missing" error when connecting my phone. USB drivers were auto-installed by Windows when I connected my phone. I also installed the Android SDK and have attempted to update the USB drivers that Windows uses for my phone to those from the SDK. I have also tried installing the drivers available on Samsung's website.
What is the best way to remove all Samsung/Google USB drivers, prevent Windows from auto-installing drivers and clean install new drivers?

[Q] defy+ with UMS on vista

when i connect my defy+ with the usb cable to windows vista,
and i set android to usb mass storage (UMS) it always fails,
as the MTP driver is trying first and it fails. both motorola phone portal,
and windows media sync are successful but i am not a fan of them.
i installed the driver from "MotoHelper_2.1.32_Driver_5.4.0.exe"
i also tried removing the driver to lure out the generic UMS driver,
but no luck.
i can connect with no problems on bsd. most of my media files
are on the win machine, that's why it would be nice to have it...

I also have this issue on Windows7 64Bit
Driver issue
In Windows 7 x64 I'm pretty sure it's a driver related problem, search for x64 drivers. On vista i would suggest connecting the phone thru the usb cable and let windows install it's own software from the update center. Hope this helps.

[Q] HTC ONE M8 + Windows 7 64bit Enterprise usb drivers

Hi There,
HTC ONE M8 Usb is not recognized under windows 7 64-bit enterprise.
tried drivers from HTC sync and tried stand alone drivers.
On a different pc 32bit running windows ultimate it works immidiatly as well as on a VMWARE machine.
any advice please?
Thank you!!!
anyone?!
The latest version of HTC sync drivers should work. However you will have problems with 3rd party drivers on 64bit systems as they are generally not signed and Windows 64 bit will not allow use of these drivers unless you disabled driver signing enforcement

unfortunatly that didnt do any change.
whatever i do windows does not except the driver. I plug in the phone and immidatly it shows with a exclamation mark in the device manager.
tried different ports and different cable, i uninstalled any previous smartphone drivers and software, although it works just fine with another computer running windows 7 (32bit).
any hint on how to troubleshoot?
thank you!!
Solved!
solved by using 3rd party software (wierrrd)
1. install moborobo http://www.moborobo.com/
2. plug the phone with "Usb debugging" ON
3. Accept the "not signed" driver warning
4. It will now automatically install the driver succesfully after which you can uninstall moborobo and the drivers will still work

Worked fine for me when I installed it on my work laptop running the same version of Win 7. I've got admin rights but explicitly ran the downloaded file as administrator and once I had connection confirmed, I deleted the synch manager portion of the installation (hey, great idea - let's make people download and install 130Meg of files just to get Windows device drivers... NOT)
i actually found another way to work with this...
search google for windows xp mode. it will take you to the microsoft website and it will download a pc virtualizer with xp built in. the software is windows xp 32 bit. i just unlocked my bootloader using this and it works great

[Q] Sony SA103 ADB Interface Driver Problem

Hi All
I have a retarded problem with the ADB drivers for my Xperia S.
When i enable USB Debugging and i connect it Windows 7 64bit laptop i am unable to get the adb driver for my phone to work. The computer doesnt detect and install the ADB drivers for my Xperia S.
After manually installing the driver the computer keeps saying that "The Device Cannot Start (Code 10)". The drivers that i installed were from the Sony website.
But the strange problem is on another Windows 7 32bit Laptop and a Windows XP Desktop, Device Manager automatically detects and installs the ADB driver for my phone. Ive tried disabling driver signature enforcement and reinstalling the drivers but it still has the " This device cannot start problem"
Any ideas?

Try downgrade AT&T g3. Drivers dont install

I'm trying too downgrade to stock 444. It's said to install drivers. When I connect to my win 7 laptop it says drivers installed fine. Article I'm following says to look for com and lpt port option in device manager and expand it. If it's not there install lg drivers from their site. There is no com anything in device manager. Using the driver software from lg site says installed good but then Windows says not installed. Still no com anything.
How can I get this working? Thanks.
Did you connect device in download mode?
Don't know. All I did was connect it to the laptop. Then I hear the laptop make sound when you connect a usb device. It makes it several times and don't try to install drivers. Nothing happens.
I have also connected it and then did the install pc drivers that pops up on the phone to do. That opens the installer on laptop which tries installing drivers. Windows then says the drivers were not successfully installed.
Using the drivers from the lg web site Windows still says not installed successfully.
Anyone please?

Windows 10 HTC one M8 usb connection

Hi everyone,
I'm new and searching for help to connect my new HTC one M8 to my PC(OS Windows 10, installed not updated) via USB.
After installing the HTC Sync Manager with its drivers windows won't recognize my device but after updating the driver the error becomes:
Windows found driver software for your device bbut encountered an error while attempting to install it
HTC MTP Device
An error eccurred during the installation of the device:
The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later.
I have tried all of the solution over the internet:
-reinstall htc sync (after uninstalling all the drivers, obviously)
-copy usbstor.inf and .pnf file from a pc that recognizes my phone
A thing I observed was that when I enabled the USB debugging mode HTC Sync runs, so the phone is recognized, but the driver can not be installed.
I have tried the phone connection to another PCs and OSs: another Windows 10 and Ubuntu and it works, the problem is my os...
