need help xpeia S hard bricked - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi everyone,
i just up the rom from cyamodgen 10 for my xperia S
in the step of logging to fast boot mode, i enter the wrong boot.img ( it is from the xperia U rom zip flle) and the xperia S got brick.
i think it is hard brick because i couldnt do anything for my phone.
how can i do now because i couldnt go into fast boot mode ot flash rom or other things.
please help me
thanks

Hard brick is hardware issue. I think u have software issue. Did u try power+volume up pressed till it vibrates three times? If u can do that, plug it to PC to fastboot mode again.

Hi,
i have tried volum + and power button but it didnt work.
i also tried to leavce the baterry died before flash rom. yesterday , when i plug it in charger, nothing happended but today the red led appears when i connect the phone to either charger or my computer.
when i using flashtool, at the power off phone and hold volum +, the phone still in red led but not turn into blue ?
i dont know how to fix my phone now.
i install ADB and other things fully you know.

I think you have to press the volume up+power button more than 3 sec! You need to wait for the phone to vibrate a couple times ( like 15 seconds i think) Then try to go in fastboot with computer!

i had the same issue a while back. My XS was in same condition because i let the battery drain till 0% bit was on a kernel that doesn't support offline charging. It appeared as though it can't shut itself down completely, so i couldn't enter fastboot. I somehow managed to enter cwm and was able to flash another kernel that i just so happened to have

thanks all

You need to completely turned off your xs (vibrate three times) to go to fastboot mode. If it vibrates 1 time, it only reboots itself.
When u manage to make it vibrate 3 times, plug it to your PC while vol button (up or down, I forgot ) pay close attention to the led.if it shows other color (blue or green), u can save ur phone. If it show blue/green first then back to red, means you don't have proper drivers in your PC. If it shows only red from the start, charge it back.. and pray.

U have unlocked bootloader right? Just Use fastboot and the flash any kernel.elf for xperia s. Then boot to cwm, flash any rom (that compatible with the kernel).
Good luck.

hei, thanks to you guys. i have waken up my phone. so happy to say now. i have tried put the phone to wall charger until it "says" hei man, please flash me by fastboot mode. yes, i am so happy now that i want to share my experience with those who are having the soft brick problem/
just let the phone died after the problem happened/ it took me more than 12hours to let the battery drain off. (it depends on how much the pin your had before the soft brick)
when you can connect your phone to wall charger and the led is red. continue charge it until you see the red- orange light/ or blue if you can
then make sure you have the driver installed on your computer
use the volume up and power button until you see the blue light and quickly hold volume up and connect to your computer where the flashtool is already opened.
now it is time for you to flash the kernel, system.sin and wait., it tooks me 2hours for the flashing system.sin *more than 400mb"
well, now connect like usual to flash mode and enjoy your alive phone.
sorry for the long response but i am very appreciated yours helps.
thanks all and have a niceday

[Q] Xperia S bricked? not charging

I flashed a new ROM (Nova unofficial CM10) and let the battery drain till it went off, normally it starts charging again when I plug it in the wall charger, but this time nothing it seems :crying: the red led is on, but the battery doesn't get warm and it doesn't turn on normally. Sometimes it randomly boots till the unlock screen shows up from the ROM, but the screen isn't responding and then it turns of again. I tried to do something in the recovery, but since there are no other ROM files on the Phone I can't try any other kernel or ROM. USB storage doesn't seem to be working in this recovery... or it might be my windows 8.
Should I wait a few "hours"?? The red led is still on... so it's doing something right?
/help

Its not the matter that ur USB is not working and it shows sometime connection and dis connecton and if even now it show nothing just remove ur battery for five min if ur phone has removable battery system

the bootloader is unlocked... pretty sure SUS won't be working, but I will try. And I don't have a removable battery system but I can forcefully shut it down.
edit:
it keeps showing up the red led, flashmode and fastboot don't work.
Ok then u have the only way just connect it via USB and update SUS its the only way for u. It wil download 40mb then install the soft it says to connect ur divise and it wil donload 225mb firmware tft after that it wil update ur devise

it will not connect to USB, it's too empty for that... it's either recovery or nothing at all. But USB storage isn't working.

it seems I fixed it! it took me a damn while, but it seems to be charging now.
what I did:
1: Download Advanced Stock Kernel 17 (fastboot version)
2: wait for it to turn off
3: charge Phone till it boots again
4: hold power + vol up till it vibrates 3 times
5: get the Phone in fastboot mode (plug-in the Phone and hold vol up)
6: fastboot the kernel
7: reboot and hook-up the charger and it should charge again :victory: (without booting)
my battery indicator is now yellow!! and the on-screen battery shows yellow as well.
ps: try using a normal charger and not the sony wall charger... it seems to be working better when the OS is not booted.

Okay I got it solved too!
Mine is as follow:
- Let it charge till the screen boots up.
- Power + volume up for 1 vibration, and then hold volume up for fastboot mode.
- Flash adv kernel 17 and then connect to charger. Let it charge for 30 mins.
- Reflash Nova kernel
Everything works perfectly after that
I think Nova kernel does not support offline charging @[email protected]

Even I have the same problem,so you guys just flashed the Advanced kernel without touching the ROM right ??
Because its a ICS kernel and i'm running PA 2.57 which is based on CM10,I'm gonna try this out
EDIT :
This is what i did,my phone wouldn't reset(Soft or Hard reset) but i was able to get into recovery and would get around a minute when the phone powered on showing "Charging 0%"
1. Copied the CWM version of Advanced Kernel 17
2. Booted the phone in TWRP(Nova Kernel has TWRP instead of CWM)
3. Flashed the Advanced Kernel,Rebooted
4. I was now able to charge offline as well as the phone would reset(Hard and Soft both)
5. After 15mins booted in recovery and flashed Nova Kernel back
6. Rebooted into ROM and voila showed 40% charge

You can always flash a kernel, but it will probably reboot right away. TWRP didn't seem to work with windows 8... CWM does work fine, but then again I had TWRP so I wasn't able to copy the file to the Phone and flash it using the recovery. Recovery did work though but it didn't have enough juice to perform a sideload, so fastboot was the only option for me.
But it seems you figured everything out already :good:

Why go all the way round and get back to stock when flashing a different kernel does the trick for you
Tbh,flashing takes lots of time especially when you are hoping around different ROM's i didn't have that kinda patience so went with the shorter way to getting the phone up and running

I had the exact same issue with Nova Kernal.
As I was usng PAC ROM I flashed the FXP kernal that came with PAC ROM and it started charging again.
So I Think the issue is with Nova Kernal..
So basically I have the same issue. The battery of the phone was nearly empty and I decided to recharge it. Unfortunately it didn't charge.
What was the cause: I upgraded to 6.1.a.2.55 stock rom and I wanted to root it. It worked well and I could reinstall all the apps.
The current situation is: The battery is empty now but when I connect it to my computer's USB port it comes up every now and then I can get into the phone, I can access flashboot and also I'm able to get into fastboot. So I tried it with the solution given above but it is not working. I tried to flash the old 6.1.a.2.50 but the flashtool will not install it. Here is the log file:

can u press power+vol up and hold both of em till the phone vibrates three times? if yes.. open flashtool. select flashmode, pick your ftf, and when the flashtool told you to plug the device, plug it while holding volume down.. if it's recognized by the pc, it will show green led, and it will stay green after the flashtool finished flashing. if it's only show green then back to red, u need to install flashmode driver first.
if the phone cant vibrate three times, u need to charging your device first. some say in just couple minutes, some even says a whole day.
hope it'll help.
try to flash the advanced stock kernel (v17) using fastboot. No matter the software on the phone, it should go straight to offline charging.

[Q] xperia play r800i strangely bricked

my xperia play r800i wont boot, it show signs of charging e.g blinking red light, red light, amber light, green light but wont boot, when i remove the battery and re insert it it will vibrate and then nothing, not even the backlight turns on just a black screen, i cannot get it to go into fastboot mode strangely so i am unable to unlock the bootloader and therefore unable to flash it back to stock, if some-one could point me to a video guide on how to get it to go to fastboot mode. with the pc companion tool it first saw it as "null" device but after updating it to latest firmware through it it reconises it as an r800 xperia play yet i am unable to browse files at all on it. i have also re updated it through update service but again nothing. this phone is out of warranty so that isn't an option. if anyone could help it would be awesome.

just to be clear to put it into fast boot mode i have attempeted the following
remove battery, wait 5 seconds, reinsert battery, hold search and power simltaniously, nothing
remove battery, wait 5 seconds, reinsert battery, press power until vibration while holding search, nothing
remove battery, hold search, reinsert battery still holding search, hold power button while still holding search, nothing
remove battery, wait 5 seconds, reinsert battery, hold search, insert usb, begins charging... no blue light
it shows no sign of charging after i "turn it on" the light goes out but i know that the front plate, i.e screen, menu buttons is not completely unresponsive as if i hold the return button when i insert the usb it recognizes it different as i was trying to flash it earlyer and it is required in the updating process, please help
it seems if i leave it plugged in via usb it will randomly disconnect and reconnect from the computer and yes pc companion will say that the device is detected every time. its almost as if it is stuck in an invisible and very fast bootloop as it disconnects and reconnects at about 5 second intervals, this only happens after it has been "turned on"
it also appears that the battery drains very rapidly as after only a few minuets of removing battery holding power ect. it will no longer "turn on" and no light will turn on through a usb socket but when plugged into the wall after a short pause it shows the amber charging light. could this be a battery problem? con the xperia play normally boot off wall power without a battery? if so then it is the devices problem as mine cannot but if it cant normally then maybe its the battery, i have a new one ordered and will arive soon and i will keep you posted.

After u downloaded flashtool and installed right drivers go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184897
and download one of r800i .ftf file
Then turn off ur phone and hold back button and plugin usb power led should turn to green
After that open flashtools and click on flash button on top left then select flashmode and find ftf file and select flash
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
if its not clear it is acting extremely erratically with no clear logic but a few things are constant. no boot. no fastboot mode, charging light, pc companion recognizes it. have tried to be as detailed as possible so that someone may be able to pinpoint my problem.

If u use flashtool u can restore ur phone without unlocked bootloader because Flashmode doesn't require unlocked bootloader

my xperia play r800i wont boot, it show signs of charging e.g blinking red light, red light, amber light, green light but wont boot, when i remove the battery and re insert it it will vibrate and then nothing, not even the backlight turns on just a black screen, i cannot get it to go into fastboot mode strangely so i am unable to unlock the bootloader and therefore unable to flash it back to stock, if some-one could point me to a video guide on how to get it to go to fastboot mode. with the pc companion tool it first saw it as "null" device but after updating it to latest firmware through it it reconises it as an r800 xperia play yet i am unable to browse files at all on it. i have also re updated it through update service but again nothing. this phone is out of warranty so that isn't an option. if anyone could help it would be awesome.

I've got the exact same issue, but i know how you could get into flashmode or fastboot mode.
Pull the battery out and insert the usb cable (when connected to the Pc of course) and put the usb cable in the phone while holding either back or the search button. Nownit should be in the sepected mode

If your bootloader is unlocked, use this method, BUT BE SURE to carrefully READ the steps, ESPECIALLY the steps "when to connect cable to phone"

Does your flashmode stop after a little bit of time? It does on mine, that's really strange

Try to get into fastboot mode with that method i told you above. Then try to unlock your bootloader.
Pull battery out -> insert usb cable first in computer -> connect it to the Play while holding the search button -> put the battery in while still holding the search button -> then you can release the button and you should be in fastboot mode.
That's at least how it worked for me. I then flashed new software. Mine can boot to the kernel where it then shows an image and shuts down. No matter what kernel/rom I am trying.

Can you disassemble the phone? If yes disassemble the phone and remove battery connector and connect it again. As soon as you connect it, enter flash mode and flash stock ftf using flashtool.

Try this. Remove battery connector while your ready to enter flash mode. Again reconnect battery connector and soon enter flash mode and flash stock ftf.
Or once you are in fastboot mode, flash stock kernel and system separately.
Dont lost you hope,
Try with another usb port with another usb cable.

Flashing a kernel with bootloader locked was a silly thing to do. From what I can see, you are using another devices kernel, or the kernel itself is corrupt. Flashtool couldn't flash the ftf because you were in fastboot, not flashmode (volume button down I think. Flash mode has green led) What I can recommend is that if you're able to enter fastboot mode again, get the stock kernel and flash it. If you can enter flashmode, just flash the whole ftf.

The stock kernel or a derivative of it should be available in the development section. Or try to extract the kernel.elf from the ftf. A tutorial for flashing a kernel is available in the general section I presume.

Dude! If light is blink.. It's not a hard brick, just a soft brick don't worry everything thing is okay. You flashed a wrong kernel/locked bootloader.
Follow these setups
1.Download latest flash tool.
2.Install and go eg C:/flashtool/drivers (install t2 drivers) /windows 8 has some problems_google it
3. Open SIM panel, you will find a purple button press once with pan tip/needle
4. Put your phone in charging keep 1_2 hours
5. Connect in fastboot, now try to unlock phone with Sony Official bootloader unlocking method.(Google it)
Best of luck
No charging just blink slowly red led continusly

It happened to me few hours ago. I flashed a wrong kernel, then got no response/screen/led. take your time and hold power and vol + buttons 'til you feel the phone vibrate 4 times (1+3). As it happens you're sure it's turned off. So, let it charge for one or two hours, then flash a previously working kernel through flashtools fastboot mode.
This worked for me and hope it helps you too.
Best regards.

"IMPORTANT" Screen wont Turn on after original Oreo Fastboot Flash

Hey everyone.
I know how to flash and have knowledge with adb and fastboot and so on... but now iam helpless with this situation and googled allready alot.
1: I flashed to RR 7.02 Android 9.0 without Problems. But i had some Problems with Magisk and my Banking app.
2: I tryd to restore with TWRP my OLD oreo 8.1 backup but there it shows Problems with mounting system all the time. After Restore complete it allways says cant mount system - invalid argument and after boot it only goes to Fastboot.
3: I flashed original CEDRIC_OPP28.85-16_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip with fastboot commands. After finishing flash i did fastboot reboot but Phone gone off.
Now the the Problem: Screen wont turn on again. I had low Battery and thought it maybe its the Problem of no Battery. But now the Phone hangs like 2 Hours on the original Charger/tryd 2 other chargers allready and the Screen wont turn on. It just blinks the white LED when charger is plugged in. No normal power on no fastbooot or recovery power on. The screen wont just turn on. Strange?! Battery or Hardware defekt? But i had no problems before... The Phone is now 18 month old.
Any advise or Help. Thanks

Writing 'recovery' (bootloader) Image signed with key bad key
OKAY [ 0.635s]
Finished. Total time: 1.403s
and something like this i had never before... (bootloader) is-logical:recovery: not found or (bootloader) Image signed with key bad key ( but this shouldnt be the problem)
NOW it shows this under device manager when i plug it in look screenshot.
If it's a battery issue hold the power button for 30 seconds whilst the charger is plugged in - if you can then see the charging animation don't attempt to turn the phone on until it reaches 5% charge
You can also try these steps
1) Plug it into the charger
2) Hold the VOL DOWN key
3) While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
4) Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
5) After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
6) The Fast Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
7) Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.
If it's a firmware issue you may have hard bricked the device from incorrect or incomplete firmware flash
See my hardbrick thread for a possible solution if it is hard bricked else you may require a motherboard replacement
