No you can't downgrade the hboot. If you want to go to stock you need a nandroid backup !
Or a ics one, or a jb one

thanks for the reply man its a great idea for keeping everything in one place but my problem is my cid is T-MOB 101 and version is **.**.707**(4.28.707.10) and the version there is **.**.111.** so the question is can i still flash that nandroid ?? because i see in lots of post that cid and the version should match to get back to stock isn't that right ??

you only need to match the CID, that nand should work on your phone, you need to match the RUU and not the nand what's your HBOOT version actually?

well you need a certain HBOOT to run the 2.17 nand... but i don't remember which was the required HBOOT for 2.17. the best thing would be to update the HBOOT to the latest version and then flash the nand backup

can you tell me how can i do that ?? becasue the hboot also require me revert to stock rom and lock the phone to finish it aint that the thing ??? or is there any other way i can do that ?? actually there is an update of hboot for my cid..i tried flashing it but it didnt worked for me ...
Yeah, you need to be locked. When you unlock again, it will wipe the phone
Take a nandroid backup and then
fastboot oem lock
Then try hboot update again.

Sorry for the late reply, missed this thread... Are you on full stock m8? With locked bootloader? If so, then do a factory reset from bootloader and see if it boots up...
If the above thing fails and if your bootloader is locked and you haven't unlocked it even once, it's best you send your phone to HTC to get it fixed under warranty..
If you don't have warranty, what is your cid? fastboot oem readcid

He is already on 1.36 hboot, it means his firmware is upgraded. Restoring an ICS backup will break the touch most probably!
If everything else fails he could try to do this...

i think there is not RUU for 4.x main version, you just need to find a stock nandroid backup and restore it via recovery if you want complete stock, you also need to find the stock recovery and flash it after the nand restore, and last step is to relock bootloader... look around for some guides so you'll find out what you need
Hi,
I tried out cyanogenmod and now I have hard time going back to stock. I don't have any backups. I've relocked the phone and installed a default recovery, but I can't find a correct way nor file to flash it to stock. I have 1.72 HBOOT, 4.18.401.4 mainver, and HTC__Y13 CID. read my previous post need to find nandroid backup
I can not find a the firmware for my:
HTC ONE X
RADIO - 2.1204.135.20
CID - VODAP021
HBOOT 1.12
I want to upgrade it to HBOOT 1.28 so I can install custom roms and turn S-OFF but I have looked everywhere and I can no find this firmware
Could anyone help me? I just need to find this firmware then I have everything else undercontrol.
I can't turn S-OFF because my kernel is securer but I can not find a custom rom which works on it which isn't insecure.
Please help me, I have been looking for hours on end and I can not find it :\
You can't s-off. Return the phone back to stock and update via official ota.
