I recently just go rid of my Galaxy note which was running CM9 kang hotw1r3 ROM for the S3. i loved the apps and the theme and was wondering if there is anyway to find out what apps hotw1r3 was running in that ROM, if they were compatible with the S3, and is it just as simple as moving one to the other folder for the apps. i checked through the threads but didn't find anything. and sorry if this is a dumb question/or already been covered but I'm new to android, from iphone and we all know how that story plays out.
Hello everybody, a friend of mine who owns a galaxy s3 recently showed me a number of the useful "Motion Gestures" on her phone, see: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-use-motion-gestures-galaxy-s3
I am quite sure that this is a ROM feature developed by Samsung, therefore would it be possible to port any of these gestures onto any Galaxy Nexus ROMs? (Especially features like Direct Call, Flip to Silent)
If not can anybody please direct me to any relevant apps that can achieve the same on the Google Play Store, or any ROM which features these?
Thank you!
I'd also be interested in this. The phone has all the hardware necessary, does anyone know of any ROM that has these features?
Hi,
NOOB, apologies if the below is stupidly worded.
Messed around with Cyanogen 9 and 10 but not a fan of it.
Thinking of just flashing the original Samsung stock ROM but people told me there are ROM's out there that are a deviation of the stock ROM but have a few tweaks, not sure if this actually exists or not. (I'm a noob to rooting). I see in this forum dozens of "stock" ROM's, so not sure exactly where to find one that just has the below:
Original Camera app
Original Video player app
S-Voice
NO Rogers bloatware
No Samsung bloatware (besides S-Voice, which I don't consider bloatware)
I know these are Samsung / TouchWiz features so I am not sure if it's possible to find a ROM that has these.
Basically I was pretty happy with my GS3 before I rooted it. The only thing I hated was the carrier/samsung bloatware bogging down system resources. I'd rather keep it on (basically) the stock ROM for now if it means retaining the original TouchWiz video/camera/s-voice apps.
Any idea if this is possible?
Nunhuggers T2 is great and has what your looking for.
Next time don't post questions in development forum, use Q and A.
Edit... T2 Doesn't have s-voice. I thought the Google voice search was much better.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
sorry, where can I find the thread for nunhugger's ROM?

I'm liking Ariel right now
edit: you can pick and choose what Samsung apps you want too
thanks guys
keep the suggestions coming.
This does not belong in development. If you want Samsung features, use a Samsung based rom. You need to research this yourself. No one is here to spoon feed you.
LOL @ "No One is here to spoon feed you" riiiiiiiight.
You could literally take any stock based ROM here, and use Titanium Backup to remove bloatware and then reinstall S-voice if needed.
So basically just flash the stock ROM for my carrier, and then in Titanium I could remove the bloatware carrier/Samsung apps/.apks I don't want (but leave S-Voice), and it should run run stable?
SORRY FOR THE N00B QUESTIONS, haven't used Titanium yet. For some reason you guys in Developer seem to be more responsible to this then those in Q&A.
Thanks.

So I installed hyperdrive rom onto my device. Im able to get the tiled news feed on it like I had before updating and rooting the rom. I is missing the local stuff i get personal, news and social now. But after looking at the video below its not incorporated the full magazine ux interface I'm seeing. I was wondering of all the custom roms is there one that incorporates the full magazine ux where when you pinch it it acts like the note tab pro model. I can get out of the news by hitting the home button but thats it. Im a semi newbie so if the question makes no sense I'm sorry for asking. Thanks

You won't find one bug free. I suggest installing the ported Neo S3 UI and Tab4 TouchWiz. They are cleaner and have better look and hidden options.
I also edited my system.db file and my settings list to tab list.
You can look for Tab4 keyboard and use Xposed with Wanam xposed to tweak and customize the tablet.
If battery life Is a problem... you can try my mod using disable service. It will add up to 4 hrs more battery time and make the tablet smoother.
For myself I am happy with 4.4.2 and see no benefit going to any other android version. Though i use my tablet as a tool not a do everything device like a phone. Meaning it don't sync with Google, yet you can sync with Samsung. If you do use Google apps, they are not as connected, so things are controlled by the user not what google does in background.
