[Q] Get Samsung Galaxy SIII Motion Gestures on our Nexuses - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello everybody, a friend of mine who owns a galaxy s3 recently showed me a number of the useful "Motion Gestures" on her phone, see: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-use-motion-gestures-galaxy-s3
I am quite sure that this is a ROM feature developed by Samsung, therefore would it be possible to port any of these gestures onto any Galaxy Nexus ROMs? (Especially features like Direct Call, Flip to Silent)
If not can anybody please direct me to any relevant apps that can achieve the same on the Google Play Store, or any ROM which features these?
Thank you!

I'd also be interested in this. The phone has all the hardware necessary, does anyone know of any ROM that has these features?

[Q] Call barring/blocking on GSM Galaxy Nexus?

Hi all,
I'm wondering if there is a way to auto block a call on the GSM Galaxy Nexus? I was able to do this from the call settings on my SGS II but can't seem to find a way to do it with ICS on the GN. Looked through the forums but was unable to find anything.
Yes I do know there are 3rd party apps I can download to do this but would prefer not to put extra bloat on my phone unless it is completely necessary.
Thanks for any help!
I want the same thing... searching searching
You need a app, stock ICS can't do it.
Hi,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
And maybe there are other on the Play Store...
EDIT:https://play.google.com/store/search?q=call+blocker

Two Galaxy Nexus Questions

Hi all,
I just had two questions relating to the Galaxy Nexus which I bought a couple of days ago
1. When I receive a text or email, on my old Galaxys S2 it used to have a number next to the icon. For example if two people had text me, the number two would show up next to the text message icon informing me. This doesn't appear to be happening on my Galaxy Nexus. Is that normal?
2. One of my favourite widgets on the Galaxy S2 was the Mini Paper widget. I've got the .APK for it, but it doesn't seem to install on the Galaxy Nexus. Does anyone know how this widget can be installed?
Hope someone can help me out
1. That is part of touchwiz, the Samsung equivalent of Sense on HTC devices. The Galaxy Nexus is a pure Google experience device, but you can find widgets on the Android Market that will give you badges for SMS/Email.
2. That APK might need the touchwiz framework to work, no idea though.

Thanks for the reply ZeroBarrier.
Regarding the first question, I just wanted to make sure that this was universal to all Galaxy Nexus' and not just mine LOL. Strange how this feature doesn't exist though as I thought it was very useful on my S2.
Regarding the second question, if anyone does know how to get the Mini Paper widget working on the Nexus Galaxy, please let me know
Regarding the Mini Paper widget, have you tried ColorNotes from the market? Not EXACTLY the same but gets the job done

I've tried ColorNotes but didn't really like it to be honest mate. The S2's Mini Paper
I feel is the best quick note taking widget out there. Everytime I try installing it, the process just fails
Surely there must be a way to make it work? It's only a small widget LOL

So it's not possible at all then to get this widget ported over to the Nexus?
I heard somewhere that Touchwiz widgets require the Touchwiz framework.
*cough*
The same goes for Sense widgets, Blur widgets, and any other manufacturer-UI widgets.

[REQ] Eye-scroll, etc

Hella!
As the title says, my question is about the new features of the S4. Since the system has been dumped out by Sammobil, im kinda sure that some of us started to port apps, and features from that. I've seen working S-healt in Galaxy S3 section as well. (Tryed, it doesnt work in our device yet) So I'd like to ask, is it possible to get those eye related features from S4?

[Q] Galaxy S6 Edge S Beam - Not available

I got the brand new T Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and love using it. I figured out that S Beam option is not available in the device to beam photos or videos. I found out that S Beam app is
listed out in the Apps section under Application Manager --> Applications --> All.
So I think S Beam app is shipped along with the device but for some reason it was not installed or enabled. I would like to know why it was not installed on the device. Is there any way to install S Beam app. BTW, my device is not rooted.

Hi there, unfortunatly the cool S-beam Feature found on previous galaxy devices was not developed for the Galaxy S6 nor the S6 edge.
the S-beam feature was sacrificed in order to to launch the new Samsung feature of wireless charging . it is still a great phone though with many other awesome features and hope you will enjoy it.

I had no idea where you get the information that S-Beam is sacrificed for the wireless charging. I personally thinks that wireless charging has nothing to do with S-Beam whatsoever (S4 and S5 can still have S-Beam even after using the special case for wireless charging).
S-Beam is working in S6, just differently (you can find "S Beam" in the Application Manager). Try beaming photos/videos from another Samsung device, and you'll notice the File Transfer is very fast. However the problem lies with sending from S6. For some reason Samsung limits this feature to just receiving files. If anyone finds out how to access the S-Beam feature and enabling it for sending as well please share.
Edit: Wireless Charging is not a "new" feature. Samsung just decided to include it in the phone since it doesn't have removeable battery anymore = no more removable back cover.

Samsung Dialer & Messaging on Oneplus 3

Ok everyone, 1st time poster here hoping for help (without being beaten up about my question).
I have moved from Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to One Plus 3. The phone is great, BUT I really really miss two items from my Note 4
The Samsung Dialer - It has Video Chat to other Samsung users built in, the Google phone app seems a little "sparse" to me (just my opinion)
Messaging App by Samsung - It shows when other samsung users are typing and gives status such as "read" once a message is read.
Is there anyway I can get these two items Phone & Messaging onto the Oneplus 3 phone as my primary apps?
Please let me know - Thanks for being awesome & helpful !
Won't anyone help me determine is this is doable ??

more than likely not
Highly, highly doubtful. Someone can chime in with more knowledge, but that is pretty deep framework stuff from what I know.
Sent from my unknown using XDA-Developers mobile app
You have to have a Samsung device for those to work. They need Samsung framework and drivers to work at all and any port would not have the Samsung to Samsung options. Also the read recept is just that. It can be turned on in most messaging apps, but won't do any good if the other end has them disabled.
