Hi all,
I'm wondering if there is a way to auto block a call on the GSM Galaxy Nexus? I was able to do this from the call settings on my SGS II but can't seem to find a way to do it with ICS on the GN. Looked through the forums but was unable to find anything.
Yes I do know there are 3rd party apps I can download to do this but would prefer not to put extra bloat on my phone unless it is completely necessary.
Thanks for any help!
I want the same thing... searching searching
You need a app, stock ICS can't do it.
Hi,

Any devs here interested in getting Kies Air to work on the Gnex?
- My understanding is that it should work with galaxy products. Yet, I am unable to install it. If you need the Kies.apk I will gladly upload it otherwise check out google.
I enjoyed this APK on my Galaxy S II from TmoUSA - Was hoping it would work out for my Gnex. - Not sure if it needs framework or just updates to internal code of the Apk.
What does it do?

The APK allows you to view files ect.. and sync via the samsung Windows $oftware. It also allows you to manage the phone via Wifi - thus no need for sync cable and so on. Its rather nice imo and well coded. I found very few issues with it when i have my SGS II.
Anyone had any luck with this? I liked the ability to manage my GS2 as well as send and receive text messages from my phone through my browser.
I would like to be able to do this on my Galaxy Nexus as well, I know its not officially supported but I figured the xda community would have a work around
Try Airdroid while waiting for Kies Air available?
I had no idea such a thing existed, fantastic!
thanks again
Hey guys,
I was wondering...when this phone finally gets the office ICS update..will it have the "android beam" capabilities that the Galaxy Nexus has? I don't necessarily mean having to hold it back-to-back with another phone to exchange information, but can we do information transfer simply with NFC? I've read online that it won't have those capabilities since it doesn't have "modern NFC hardware". But this surprises me and strikes me as odd...can anyone tell me what's what?
thanks!!
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SII
Running on 3.3, waiting on 4.0
SGH-T989
it's a build in feature of ICS, so yes
i'm also looking forward to Android Beam
in fact, that is the only reason i want to get ICS
otherwise i don't even bother
my current alternative is to use WiFi File Transfer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antosdr.wififiletransfer
or Bluetooth File Transfer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.medieval.blueftp
Hello everybody, a friend of mine who owns a galaxy s3 recently showed me a number of the useful "Motion Gestures" on her phone, see: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-use-motion-gestures-galaxy-s3
I am quite sure that this is a ROM feature developed by Samsung, therefore would it be possible to port any of these gestures onto any Galaxy Nexus ROMs? (Especially features like Direct Call, Flip to Silent)
If not can anybody please direct me to any relevant apps that can achieve the same on the Google Play Store, or any ROM which features these?
Thank you!
I'd also be interested in this. The phone has all the hardware necessary, does anyone know of any ROM that has these features?
For Christmas I got a new Galaxy S III, moving from the Galaxy S Captivate that I've had for two years.
My first issue:
While the S Memo app that comes on the GS3 is nice and all, I'd additionally would like to use the Memo app from my Captivate.
It is a system app, so simply trying to copy it over and install like a normal app fails...
This has led me to attempt to trying to deodex the app so that it may be possible for me to install the app on my GS3, but my laptop is on its last leg and I'm having a lot of issues trying to get this done. I could not attach the .odex file, but I have attached the .apk in hopes that someone might be able to assist me.
My 2nd issue:
Is there a way for me to get the old youtube widget back, because I find the new stacked video look for the widget to be awful.
My 3rd Issue:
Now I've managed to successfully get free Tethering to work on Jelly Bean with the "Wifi Tether - TrevE Mod" app, but only because I was defeated trying to modify the framework files.
I really wanted to enable native tethering and there is a thread I found that was a guide in order to do it for the GS3, but I just ended up getting a boot loop. With the Captivate it was as easy as just deleting a file to enable it, and instead of needing to download a 3rd party app, I was hoping someone might have a modded stock jelly bean framework that I could use to replace my own that will accomplish what I intended to achieve.

In stock ROMs in Poland it is possible to make video calls (Orange or Play operators).
It is free of charge (I mean included in you billing plan, charged as regular phone call), don't have to use special software (skype, hangouts or whatever) just calling from stock ROM - when you go to your contact you choose whether you wanna call or video call somebody.
Is it possible to implement it in any custom ROM? And would anybody try to do so? :fingers-crossed:
Thing is that once I change ROM from stock one to whatever I loose this option.
And yes, I know I can use skype and other tools but GSM doesn't use your transfer data.
Where can I download these(orange/play) stock ROMs. Please give me link.
Can it be ROM for i9300?
I don't have it myself and will have to search for it but so far I've seen some stock ROMs for i9300.
And moreover I've seen this function on my friends i9300 (but for sure option is available for all phones coming from Play, not so sure if Galaxy Nexus was available in the Play offer so there might be no stock ROM for it).
All i9300 has gsm video calling function. But you have posted it in Google Nexus thread. So talk about it.

Android doesn't natively support video calling over network.
Samsung, Lg all have implemented it for their Phones.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

I am sure not all i9300 support video calling as in USA network providers do not support, as far as I know.
@seriousia: is it possible to implement those Samsung or LG solutions in custom ROMs?
