Let the battery adapt if you just flash your rom. It takes to 3 - 5 times for the battery works normally. This is normal if you just newly flash the rom.

i also have those problem on new rom (cm10.1). but after 3 days its getting better. like post above. just let you phone to adapt and do good charging routine.

no Battary Problem :/ . i will wipe again and check

You can try Slim-3.1.0 Ancora 12/06/12 Unoffical its much more better than the other roms cause it uses 2.6 kernel

still the same... -_- the problem till now can't fix even i charge regularly...

You are having the battery drain issue with kernel 3.x. Some people are having it but others not. I´ve done some testings to find out what is causing this and it seems like it has something to do with the NAND flash memory, so the SD Cards. I needed some volunteers to do the same tests but unfortunally the ones who agreed didn´t do it. So I´m not further investigating into narrowing down this issue to find a solution.
The only fix I can tell you is to stay with a ROM that uses 2.6.35 kernel. So for example Arcos CM9 RC2 or RC3 or the mentioned Slimbeam that also uses 2.6.35 kernel.

Use a different kernel. I'd suggest batur Kernel 3 or 2..
You are welcome.

so... it's SD card problem? :/
gonna check it... is it the problem on sd card class ?
Mine sd card class 4.
for people who don't have this problem... please write ur sd card class

I´m just saying its pointing to the SDCards but to be sure I would need some fedback from the others who wanted to test this too. My SDCard is Class 10 from Samsung and it´s working without problems.
So if it has something to do with NAND flash memory it will be something with 3.x Kernel and how it´s adressing different types of flash NAND memory.

i suggest you download wake lock detector from play store to see if anything's keeping your phone awake. then from there try to hunt down these drainers one by one

I had this problem too.
But after calibrating my battery with this app it became much better.

I bought my phone before 5 months I think the battery is good!!
After flashing cm9 I had this problem
Yeah. It is true. The first time flashing should drain your battery fast. You should wipe battery stats via CWM and calibrate your battery using the app in Google play. Remember to follow the instructions of the calibration. You should let your battery totally drained after the calibration. And recharge it to be fully 100% without touching it before it reach the full charge. You should make it that way 4 times. It will make your battery get used to it and become normal again. At least, the battery will not drain fast. AND ONE MORE, DO NOT COMPARE THE BATTERY USAGE BETWEEN CM9 AND STOCK, BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE LONGER TIME WITH THE BATTERY, JUST REVERT BACK TO STOCK ROM. THAT SHOULD DO IT. FOR ME, WHEN I WAS IN STOCK THE BATTERY LAST LIKE 20 HOURS. IN CM9 IT ONLY REACH 16 HOURS. COUPLE HOURS DIFFERENT. BUT IT IS OK FOR ME.

IMO Wiping battery stats and calibrating are the same functions. You don't need to wipe again if you already calibrate just waste of time.
Calibrating battery also wipe the battery stats. Just wipe / calibrate once i guess (correct me if wrong) because i always did once and there's no problem with my battery (drains too fast)
Hope it helps

[Q] Random reboots even after Pristine

I've been helping with minor problems in the Q&A section for some time, but now I face my own problem.
After softbricking my phone 3 days ago(probably from too many tweaks crashing in the init.d folder) I re-pristined my phone, and I'll list what is its specs below after recovery.
ROM: CM9RC2
Kernel: I tried all available from HADI and CastagnalT(except CFS)
Mod: Disable CPU Render, Seeder V5, KSM, 16 bit Transparency, Force GPU render, Disabled surface dither.
Probably the standard package in CM9RC2, but thing is it random reboots(mostly from wakes after locking). Once I was watching a movie, specifically the movie is in MKV format using MX player, it rebooted instantly too, after its back to launcher its fine until I finished the movie and locked phone, then when I wake it, it freeze reboot again.
Any ideas people?
possible problems/solutions:
1- maybe it is a problem with the battery, check if it gets fat when charging. if yes then go buy a new one
2- usually battery problems end up with force shutdown, so my secound thought is that it is a problem with the add-ons. try going pristine and sticking to the stock cm9 kernel with no add-ons and see if it still reboots
3- if the above didn't work then maybe it is a hardware problem
i hope i helped

I have a strong feeling its Seeder v5 behind this. The original Seeder gave me no issues.
The battery should be fine. I check it once in awhile anyway.
Nah, I don't seeders did it, May be a wrong flash or something, btw turn off force gpu rendering it gives more performance

My battery life is fine though. If its swollen a significant effect would be drastically bad battery life. I learnt this while studying about lithium-ion batteries and experience when I'm working in a camera shop

Will try using 1.4 hadiconfig back and test.

Screenshot from Monday AM. Please ignore the mobile network signal bar, every version of Cyanogenmod 10 I've used has the same problem where it stops logging data after about 10 - 15 hours, but my phone does pretty much always have at least 2 bars of signal where I live and work (split about 60/40 between 2G & 3G/HSDPA)
If it helps, here are the cpu states for the last 55 hours useage:

The best battery saving rom is CM9 with the older 2.6.35 kernel. So for example Arcos CM9 RC2 or RC3, the older Slimbeam ROM or this mentioned SmoothieICS. (The other two ones are just modified and themed CM9 RC2 or RC3) For even better results you need an undervolting 2.6.35 Kernel.
My battery for example lasts 3-5 days with CM9 RC2 and Arcos stock kernel. With my personal uv kernel it lasts even more.

Sure. Just drop me your e-mail via PM and I will compile one with stock voltages you then can adjust with incredicontrol to your needs. It´s because my kernel is preset to extreme undervolting voltages and that might be to much undervolting for your cpu.
Btw Arcos kernel has also deep sleep implemented and all custom kernels are basing on arcos kernel, so not only SmoothieICS is going into deepsleep but all custom roms are doing it as well.

Unfortunately the two main culprits are K9 email and ebay, both of which are pretty important for me to have running and not in a hibernated state.
However, from the last charge on my phone I have got 2 days, 4 hours, 29 mins with 12% battery remaining - so could be worse I suppose
Thanks for the suggestion though :good:

There may be apps running in the background. Find out about them. See which app is consuming max battery. If possible, clean flash a ROM like bootleggers and flash bfr kernel under clocked. The download link is available in the bootleggers thread.

Kindly share few basic information with your question.
Which ROM
Which baseband
Which kerñel
How many sim card
Which is your primary network
Your usage patterns (games or social or video, or like 4G or WiFi)
Age of Phone (actually age of your battery)
What is your SOT and standby (how often do you need to charge?)
Etc..
Usually battery monitoring apps like AccuBattery can give you good idea on what is using how much battery !!

how long does your battery last?

Hello there guys, I've started to use this phone a week or so, and I tried a bunch of different ROMs and finally I have settled with Dot Os since is the one that worked flawlessly for me, but here's my question
How long does your battery last?
I've seen older posts complaining about this phone battery. But I wanted to check with you guys that have been using this phone with custom ROMs.
My battery last very poorly, most days I need to recharge from 2 to 3 times in the same day, I don't play games, but my screen time is long I suppose, I use it a lot to look up things in the browser or to read posts on reddit mostly.
Since this is a second hand phone I thought it could be that the battery had run its course and that it was time for a replacement, but even with a new battery the performance still far from desirable.
It's very hard to compare, because it depends a lot on your ROM, kernel, adjustments and usage !
On my side I bought the phone (a6020a46) more than a year ago, and I use it for my work with Bluetooth for the headset, but I don't use much games or browser, so it lasts around 24 hours...
Really the developers have stopped thinking about the battery life, custom roms are more focused on performance and smoothness now a days. I am watching temperature of my cpu its always above 42 C even on using whatsapp it gets heated. I was searching for Kernal with hotplug like stock kernel but didnt found. All CPU cores are working Tirelessly consuming tons of battery. I wonder whether no developer can develop a battery saving kernel with better management of cores like stock kernel developed in 2016.
It could be the ROM, but since I'm not sure what to expect from this phone in trying to first figure it out if my battery is in fact OK, so you guys recommend any app or method for that, I'm using Accubaterry and according to it my battery health is fine, but even though it can't last a whole day on the other hand I can't complain about performance, it really is fast and just works (DotOS)
Edit : yeah I think that the main source of battery drain might be the ROM itself, I've been lookin at kernel adiutor and by default all cores are always on with the minimum frequency of 960 MHz

Only kernel with hotplug turning the cores off by default I've found is the one that comes with AEX 5.7 by Harry.
See this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k5-plus/development/rom-aospextended-v5-0-t3688595/post77036466
Also he added a core control to manage hotplug values.
You don't like (for whatever reason) cores being offlined all the time? Ok, go to core control and set the properly value to switch all the cores on as you like.
If you want low battery consumption, I would suggest to stay on Nougat, it's not a troll it's a fact

Honestly I don't really care if it's nougat, oreo or whatever, I'm just looking for a stable release to use as a daily driver for a while since I can't keep flashing a new ROM every day
@shubhgoan, @ghst7 here's offlining hotplug working properly on Oreo AOKP, by using Dragon Elite v1.4 kernel.
As many others custom ROMs, no way to hotplug the cores without using a custom kernel wich support that feature.
I'll be testing how much the battery lasts now.
@walterfuster let me know how it's goes, BTW can you tell me where did you find DE kernel v1.4? On the Dev section I have found only version 1.2
In the meantime I'm using AOSPEX and although the hot plug behavior is not that aggressive, it works and I already have noticed an improvement in my battery life

You will find it on Androidfilehost website in the developers folder.

@walterfuster let me know how it's goes, BTW can you tell me where did you find DE kernel v1.4? On the Dev section I have found only version 1.2
In the meantime I'm using AOSPEX and although the hot plug behavior is not that aggressive, it works and I already have noticed an improvement in my battery life

you'll find in page 8 from the same thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k5-plus/development/kernel-t3725978/post76549650
which was the last update this kernel had.

STEPS:
flash DE kernel doing the cache/dalvick wipes previously.
install this app:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329056791
(similar to KA)
open it and goto CPU Hotplug->Hotplug Style and select "Per-Core-Hotplug".
That's it.
Now check with CPU info overlay cores automatically being turned on/off according to needing.
@shubhgoan I corrected the link. Sorry for that bro.

thanks a lot
@ghst7 Just reporting the results running DE as you requested me some posts ago.
What do you think? It's real. I promise.

Thanks I will try it myself with DotOS and see how it goes, AOSPEX also worked pretty well for my battery, it got to last a full day worth of work.

Hey I looked it up but couldn't find relevant info about this, can you explain it what exactly does this option do?

yes, it makes hotplug work, turning the cores off and on independently, depending on the cpu load.
I'm in stock rom, thinking about changing to aospex, i'm just done with 2 hours of battery from the stock rom, but I've never made any custom rom stuff... So, what's the best battery life/performance rom out there?

You will have to flash ROMs and find the one that works for you, from my experience AOSPEx, Dot Os and AOKP are all pretty good, if you wish to improve your battery life you can also flash DE kernel

Hey @walterfuster sorry to bother you again, but can you answer one last question for me, are you using an external SD card? And if so is your SD card formatted in what extension, fat32 or exfat?
I'm asking because I'm using a 64gb SD card formated as Exfat, and every time after I flash DE kernel I lose access to it, I mean the system still recognize my SD card but when I navigate to it, it shows no files, they are still there I just can't access them, I just want to be sure before I have to make a huge backup to format my SD card as fat32, I'm on AEX 5.7 btw

Hi guy, oh, I don't use an external SD card, so, I can't check anything for you.
BTW, I've also tried PB2 kernel with AOKP (completely compatible), and no chance to hotplug. It's a shame, man. because it's a great kernel: no random reboots like DE 1.4, and also has overclocking!
So, only way to get hotplug on any custom Oreo is by flashing DE v1.4, AFAIK.
I also attempted a crazy thing wich was replacing AOKP boot, with the one from AOSPEX, in order to run AOKP with AOSPEX kernel, to finally get hotlugging, but, guess what: DIDN'T work. Just got an endless unicorn boot logo
