Battery Problem - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Usually i using cm10a4. The battery life is really good.
8hours deep sleep just eat 5-15% of batt.
But now... cm9 and cm10... All the same. MY battery won't hold for long time
8hours deep sleep eat a lot of my battery!
it make me have to recharge everyday...
I found some People got this prob too. They said it's Kernel problem...
Does it true?
I have tried Battery CAlb. but still the same.
The battery app say my batt can hold for 1day 16hours 34min.
but suddenly change to 5 hours 23min.
please help ...

cm10.1 most likely same as cm10 regarding battery life.
try using betterbatterystats maybe there is some culprit. and also check your network signal. bad signal also affect on power consumsion. unstable signal cause cpu to work more.

using better battery stats (bbs) is great for killing some of the wakelocks in your phones (since not all wakelocks are directly identifiable, at least remove those most problematic is good enough). However, take it from me that bbs itself is causing serious drains to your battery. After spending 2 days with bbs, successfully eliminating most of the problematic wakelock, i used titanium backup pro to freeze bbs and my battery life improved tremendously! (from 4% drop an hour which is a little high, to 1% per hour). I am using Queen Anne's Revenge v2.3 rom with hurtsky cm9 kernel v2.1 (the latest 2.2 seems buggy), underclocked to 1MHz (shouldn't matter when it comes to just idling) and undervolted to extreme-UV values provided by CastagnaIT kernel here (credits to pepoluan for providing the link to the UV table)

Battery drain is a general problem of new kernels I think...

[Q] Weird CyanogenMod (nightly) Battery Usage stats.

I have a desire z and I am using a recent nightly and loving it but I have one concern my battery usage stats are like these:
After Charging and letting it go standby at night:
When I woke up after 7 hours battery was %89.
Usage was: Cell standby : %46
Phone Idle : %41
Display: %7
Wi-Fi : %5
Now you may tell me it is normal to have only cell standby if I let it go standby but even if I use a lot of gps and google maps for around an hour maybe it still show a lot of cell standby. And when I am using the phone I feel like it drains the battery a lot.
Are these stats normal. I remeber on my stock rom My display was always eating the battery like %40 %50 ish now display never shows above %10 even if I use the phone a lot!
Is this because of radio? Should I try different radios? I had radio that came with downgrade of my Desire Z and than I flashed the neww Bell radio.
Please help cause I am not sure if this is normal.
Noone ? any idea?
I'm on CM7 #186 since Sunday and my battery's live is slightly higher than with stock Gingerbread.
I recommend that you install "Battery Monitor Widget". It uses a lot of RAM, but it has some pretty good statistics what's using the battery.
About the display: I think in stock the battery display stats are wrong. Mine had always 70%. On CM7 it's 7% right now after two working days and moderate news in the evening. Phone idle is 43% right now.
Probably the display usage is wrong on stock rom but i am not really sure. I will try that app you recommend thx.
So my stats arent that weird.

Battery problem

I'hv flashed cm7 last week. The problem is that my defy battery drains too fast as compared to stock Froyo. I have calibrated its battery correctly. Also phone always remains hot. I am looking for solution but didn't get proper solution. Plz help..
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I've noticed the same, since flashing CM 7.1 my battery will barely last the day, I don't think it's going into deep sleep.
I'm having the same problem
When I flashed CM7 the second time recalibrated and deleted battery stat battery life improved...now i get about 35-40 hrs on one charge.
But of course there are many factors that contribute to battery life and our devices won't be the same.
Not proper solution yet..

I had problems too but after the Calibration the battery works just fine.. try Calibration again
Thanks to all..will post after getting my problem solved.trying cm7 stable..

I tried cm7 stable..here battery is draining more quickly..is there any ROM for better battery performance..?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
can you give us some numbers and specifics about your usage ? its not possible to give any view point or explanation till we know whether you are running on 2g or 3g wifi on/off etc etc .
that your phone remains hot can be caused by two things (in my experience): your cpu is always on 100%, or your gps is on. First of all, try wiping battery stats from recovery when fully charged, than let it discharge. secondly, try using setvsel to control the frequencies. if your battery still drains fast, check whether its water damage indicator is red (the - originally - white sticker near the battery pins), cuz mine is red, which means it was contacted by water, which couldve caused a short, and till then my battery drains much faster.
You can use cpu spy from market to see what is your cpu doing and the times for each state. Check if it's going to deep sleep.
I always keep my GPS, wifi off.
CPU is undervolted at minimum values as 300-16,600-26,1000-46.
I've already calibrated battery.
My battery statistics are: (approx.)
Display- 40%
Android system- 10%
Phone idle -15%
Cell standby- 10%
Android OS -5%
Remaining- other apps
Display is taking 40% while I always keep it at minimum brightness.

I finally got solution.. My defy's battery performance improved a lot. I have installed wakjiui ROM and calibrated the battery and it was unbelievable. Using it since last week. Almost doubled battery performance. At night it drains by only 2%. And one more thing about wakj ROM is it is perfect combination of miui and some apps from cm7. .
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
i got 48 hours.. sometimes more using MIUI .. highly recommend you to use it!
It is based on miui.

[Q] Kernel with best batterylife for AOKP

Hi guys!
I'm running AOKP milestone 4. This rom is superb!
I'm only having troubels finding the right kernel with this rom for an ever lasting battery life.
I've tried Franco, Trinity ad GlaDos battery dies on all kernels at +/- 18 hours with 1,30 hours screen on.
On stockrom my battery survived 23 hours with 2+ hours screen on.
On the kernel treads I see guys with 24hours+ up to 50hours battery life with 4 hours screen on.
So what am I doing wrong? (I don't know anything about tweaking voltage etc)
What settings works best for you? Please share!
try betterbatterystats and chek for wakelock...maybe a rouge app keep your device in a non-idle state.
Yeah try BBS like the above post for any issues. Also people get crazy battery life because they could also be using Juice Defender, sync turned off, brightness turned down, etc. It ain't hard to get long battery life if you do all those things.

I've checked. Nothing special on wakelock
Seems to be 'screen on' causes the biggest drain..

I would be happiest person if my battery can resist the usage of 8 hours.
Stats i posted above were without any usage. I charged my battery 100% before i go for sleep. And morning when i wake up battery would have drained. All 3 days stats i posted above are just over night stat without any usage.

You can try downloading BetterBatteryStats from the market and see whats REALLY draining your battery. If its the display , you can only reduce the brightness to the minimum and turn off auto brightness. If its Wifi , you can lower the scan time (iirc some options from Supercharger and Autokiller can do this for you) . That mostly helps if you dont have an active Wi-Fi connection .
However i think TC has a faulty battery...theres really only one way to fix that...
BBS can tell you what part of the android system is draining your battery , but i dont that will help much
I can generally keep my phone on standby for about a day and a half, with it not being used of course.
If you're sure you don't have a rouge application eating your resources, causing your battery to drain faster than it should, then you were supplied with a faulty battery pack. Margin of error is inevitable with mass produced products. In this case, you should buy a replacement battery pack off ebay or amazon, preferably with it listed as being the official/genuine product.
My stock battery was giving up after a year so i bought the mugen 1800 and with very little use i can prolly get it to 4-5 days before recharge but on average in lasts 2 days.....with very heavy usage like gaming for 5h and surfing the net for 2 its down to 35% at the end of the day so...........

Might also be any new apps you've installed recently. This happens to me all the time, so I go back and check what apps I've installed recently and remove them and that solves the problem. Or it might be a new rom?

[Q] CyanogenMod 11 is killing my battery. Help!

I've looked all around for any thread similar to this - couldn't find it.
Long story short. I rooted my phone and installed CM11 (Sept 14). My battery used to last around 30 hours. Now I'm lucky to get 8 or 9. Without any use, I lose around 40% during the night (7 or 8 hours). I used to lose 7 or 8%.
Is anyone having the same issue?
Go to the battery tab in settings and find out what is using the most energy. You can also use greenify to monitor usage.
Or try diff kernel..
what are your governor settings, and clock settings?
You can use Better Battery Stats to track down what is causing the drain.

Clock is stock, governor settings are at "interactive". I got Better Batery Stats. "Android OS" is draining my system. There were a couple of modules mentioned. I was expecting a rogue app was eating up all processor cycles.
I downloaded the Deep Sleep widget. My phone had a 35% deep sleep time.
I'm pretty sure it's doing something all the time that is draining the battery...
So I installed DS Battery Saver Pro. All I can say is WOW. Battery drain went from 7% (on stock Galaxy Note 3) to 40% on CM11 to...
0% overnight / 97% Deep Sleep
That's right. 0%!!! I can't believe it! Battery life is so much better and performance is basically the same.
I guess something was keeping the phone awake with CM11, and DS Battery Saver Pro fixed it!

Okay, it seems like the app Greenify helps a bit but doesn't completely solve the problem. Try that and let me know what you think.

Not that this will help you, but I had the same issue. Normal usage would drain before the day was over...went to Tweaked 3.55 and problem went away, which sucks because I LOVE CM11 minus the camera...for some reason I think the camera is always better with stock based roms.
DS Battery Saver Pro only did so much. With normal usage my phone simply won't last a whole day. CM11 is killing it. I have nothing else installed...
Found it!
So, I found what was eating up the battery. The battery stats didn't help. DS only saved some of the battery at night. The phone was simply consuming obscene amounts of energy while on and every indicator seemed normal.
It was ART!
I went back to stock Touchwiz and hated my phone so much I was this close to selling it and getting a OnePlus. But I reinstalled CM11 and decided to add apps one by one to find out what was going on. Everything was fine and yesterday I finally enabled ART in the end. The phone wasn't any faster, but it went from spending 3-4% battery at night to 45%. And during the day, it dropped 1% every 2 of 3 minutes with light use.
So, there it is. Blame ART and never enable it on CM11 if you have battery issues.
