My Xperia S Brick - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I installed OpenSEMC CM10.1 and I swiped my sd card unintentionally when I did a factory reset to my phone. Now my phone has no OS, and instead of going to fastboot mode by volume up, my old ROM OpenSEMC replaced to be recovery mode.
Now I can do nothing with my Phone, cannot open fastboot mode. What can I do ? Pls help me :crying::crying::crying:

SXS doesn't have sd card. Use Emma to install stock fw or Flashtool.

I use FlashTool but I cannot identify my device. The driver cannot be installed although I click the driver file of FlashTool. Therefore, that tool is useless for my device

http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/tool/flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/ try this.

I have downloaded it already. But it can do nothing. As I said above, my device was installed OpenSEMC Rom, it makes my device jump to TWRP Recovery instead of fastboot mode.

If you can enter TWRP, factory wipe everything and install CM10.1 again and let it boot.

I lost all my sd scard data when clicking Wipe external memory unintentionally (((((((((( :crying: Now my sdcard folder has no file at all

As it was said already, you need to reinstall usb drivers and use flashtool to flash stock firmware.

When my device was in TWRP, it appeared a unknown device on my PC. It names "Xperia-S" , USB\VID_0FCE&PID_6169. I reinstalled the drivers from Flashtool folder but it is useless

Follow this guide:

I'm not sure for TWRP but it should have an option for mounting USB. (like CWM)
So connect your phone to PC, mount USB and just copy another kernel, ROM or whatever you need, flash it and that's it.
And try with different PC, maybe with XP.
EDIT - TWRP has mount option (just check it), so just do that, if your PC can't discover XS as a disk drive, try with different PC.

Sideload new rom, twrp can do that.

You can use Flashtool to flash stock rom

just install other rom via fastboot.....

It will probably help you . If you can get Flashtool to recognize your phone, you are good, just flash a stock firmware

Hmm, i had the same errors as you, but after i reinstalled Windows (they had some big problems ) everything is fine. (Dont do what i did heh) Try to restart Computer as drsanket_xperia_u said. Or unistall all drivers in device manager and install them again.

If you connect your phone in flashmode to computer, does your computer see it?
yes it does its recognised the eroors come after i turn off the phone and hold down and power on thats when this comes:

hold down and power for a long time. if that doesnt work flash a new kernel with fastboot
i dont think there are any kernels available for locked bootlloaders so that may not be an option :/

Sorry didnt know it was a locked bootloader. If you can get into the os, flash cwm for locked bootloaders. Then you can flash the stock rooted version of the latest rom.
but you still have to flash the kernel and baseband through flash tool after so i will have the same problem

No the rooted version of the rom has kernel included. Flashtool can be an anus when it comes to drivers. Make sure you have checked the two bottom options in the driver install package, then reboot your computer. I just did a flashtool today and it went fine but sometimes it takes me a while to get it going. Make sure you have enough juice in your phone.
it says you need to flash kernel and baseband :/
Instructions:
* You need to have a previously rooted firmware with CWM installed. Good way to start is to have .45 firmware or .50 firmware and rooted.
* You need to have CWM installed
* Reboot to CWM and flash the zip file. (As always, make a backup and don't blame me if something goes wrong)
* After flashing is complete, power down the device and use flashtool to flash the latest Kernel and Baseband from .55 firmware (you can download the full firmware from below, but only flash Kernel and Baseband, otherwise you will loose root)
* Once completed, reboot and let the ROM settle down and there you go, you have the rooted latest firmware.
If you aren't getting CWM, follow this!
i want to delete the drivers and start again which exact drivers do i delete and which ones do i install?
????

[Q] Phone blocked after formatting system

Hello everybody.
Someone sold me a modified Xperia Arc S, lately i felt it was having troubles because of it so i wanted to just wipe data and turn back to a clean install.
The one who sold that phone to me told me to push - button to go to a Advanced menu, that's what i did, i wiped all... And even system part :/
All i know is :
- I have a trollface "U Mad" when i boot on my phone
- I can access to CWM- based Recovery v5.5.0.4 (where i did the wipe) with - button, but i don't have any backup there so can't restore.
- I can install things as zip in CWM
I tried to use flashtools, but i can't boot with blue led, so it does not see my phone in fastboot :

I managed to start my phone yet now I'd like to flash kernel. I copied drivers (boot.img) to firmware folder and when I start flashtool it doesnt see it. What do I do?
In flashtool, when you're trying to choose boot.img, change in right down edge of window type of file to .img

Like I said: "when I start flashtool it doesnt see it" that means there is nothing to choose from...
It doesn't see it, because flashtool is looking for different file type. When you switch to .img, he will see.

Ok,
Full story coz Im running out of options:
I rooted my phone (LT18i) while having stock ICS. Afterwards installed Xperia Ultimate HD (great ROM by the way) and uptill that point everything was ok. After that I made a HUGE mistake (i think) trying to install kernel using CWM - at this point my phone bootlooped. Was playing with it for a while and managed to make it work (dont ask how - i dont know) again getting back to base Xperia Ultimate HD. But when tried to flash kernel at this point flashtool said that my phone is not rooted and I cant get it rooted anyhow - and believe me I tried anything. Moreso flashtool is constantly saying I dont have drivers installed when I know I do (triple checked). I'm trying to get back to stock ICS by flashing it but flashtool (as mentioned above) doesnt allow it. Im running out of options here.
PLEASE HELP.

Please explain where exatly please.
Screenshot attached.
1. boot.img is a kernel, not a whole firmware.
2. If you need to flash kernel (boot.img), you need turn Flashtool on, click on Flash, choose Fastboot mode, Select kernel to Flash, choose your kernel and OK.
3. If you need to flash whole firmware, you need .ftf file.

And if flashtool says, he don't have drivers, go to Flashtool folder in your computer, go to drivers, run Flastool-drivers application, on list choose your phone drivers, Flashmode drivers and Fastboot drivers (in end of list) and click install.

My bootloader is locked: "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" so I cant start in fastboot. What than??
Than you can't flash boot.img.
In this moment best option to turn your Arc to life is to flash whole firmware (.ftf) by Flashtool (Flashmode).

Flashing recovery went terribly wrong on Xperia S

Hi
So yesterday I was trying to install TWRP recovery in order to install Cyanogenmod 11 on Xperia S , I followed a tutorial on techglen, the problem is that now I only have the recovery on my phone , it boots instead of the system , the system files are still there but I can't boot on it , If i connect my phone to my computer I can't access the storage even if I mount it using TWRP
So i have some questions
Is my phone broken?
Instead of flashing a .elf file i flashed the .img instead , is that the source of the problem? ( i didn't do it on purpose , but i didn't pay attention :/ )
can i flash the boot.img of the old system to get it back on booting ?
If there's a way of pushing the CM11 into my phone and installing it would that fix my problem?
Can i use flash tool to flash my old system back ?
Hi,
do you have the zip file of your custom rom on internal stockage ?
(browse file with 'Install" on TWPR)
If yes, you just have to flash it with TWPR.
Here's what I did (will do a clean install and delete previous setting, contact, app data ...) :
- Download ROM + Gapps and copy to sdcard (internal stockage)
- Flash boot.img with FlashTool
- Reboot on recovery (TWPR)
- Factory Reset (Wipe --> "Switch to Factory Reset")
- Format System (Wipe --> Advanced Wipe --> Select System)
- Install New ROM (Install and choose Zip)
- Reboot on ROM to set basic settings
- Reboot on recovery to Flash Gapps
- Wipe Cache (Wipe --> Advanced Wipe --> Select Cache)
- Reboot on System
If you don't have zip file on internal stockage, you may go back first on Stock Rom with FlashTool.
Flash stock ftf(6.2.b.1.96), you can easily find it using search function.
Then you can do like I explained.

Well thanks a lot for your answer man !
when i put on flash mode and try to flash it with flashtool , the phone leaves flash mode after like 40 seconds
I tried installing the drivers ( from flashtool/drivers ) but it didn't change anything :/
Do not confused Fastboot and Flashmode.
Normaly you just have to :
(I guess your tft is already in "firmwares" folder of FlashTool)
- start FlashTool (with Administrator Rights on Windows)
- clic on "Flash device"
- select "Flashmode"
- select all file in "Content"
- clic on "Flash"
- your xperia s must be poweroff and unpluged
- Press the back button (still powered off)
- Then plug the USB cable
After that your phone boot in Flashmode and flashing start.
If they don't work, what is the error ?

Don't put your device on flashmode until flashtool tell you because flashtool takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds to finish extract ftf file

You can simply try pushing the CM11 zip to Your phone when You are in twrp and Your phone is detected on the PC. You won't be able to see it as mounted storage. You will see the device when You run:
Code:
adb devices
Then Use the command to push:
Code:
adb push path/to/rom /sdcard
And then flash the ROM.
