Hi Friends,
This is a little Tutorial about changing app icons permanently. There was a lot of applications available in Playstore like
“ icon changer free” etc etc to change the app icons. But the problem is that u cant use that changed apps in ur app drawer. U can only use that in ur home screen as a shortcut.
So I just decided to put a little tutorial to do that easily. I know everybody will know this already. But it will help for someone I am sure….

(1) Get some cool icons from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207136 and save it ur PC. Give him big thanks for the work.
Edit:- If u need some cool Galaxy S4 icons means go here: - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216289 Please give thanks for his work..
(2) Put the apps u want to change the icons to a Folder in ur PC. For example SemcAlbum, Phonebook, Browser etc
(3) Here I am taking the Phonebook app for Example..
(4) Right Click the Phonebook apk -> Open With -> 7zip File Manager. Then U will get a box contained some files like this
(5) Then double click on the res folder and u get another box like this
(6) Find the folder named “ drawable-xhdpi “ and open it. U will get This
(7) And most important thing is u need to find the original icon and its name of the phonebook.apk or whatever apk u take …
(8) For that an easy way is create a new folder in ur PC’s Desktop and select all the images from the box ( Image 3 ) then drag it to the that new folder in the desktop.
(9)Then open that folder then search for original the apk icon. like this
(10) In my case the name of the Phonebook.apk’s icon is “ic_launcher_contacts “. So just note down the icon name and then open the folder that contains the icons that u downloaded. Like this
(11) And choose which icon u need and select it. Then rename it to the exact name of the original apk icon. ( For example ic_launcher_contacts )
(12) After that just drag that renamed icon to res/drawable-xhdpi. It will ask for overright. Press Ok or Yes. That’s it. Copy the apk to ur phone and move it to the System/app with correct permission…
Check this Attached Images for your reference .
U can do it with almost all the apks. But I cant guarantee that it will work with all apks. Some System apks did not worked for me…
And also u can take icos from other apks too..
Press The Thanks Button If You Like This

Tried desktop visualizer but it's only shorcuts. For ninjamorph, mvoid, it works but semcphone.apk doesn't change. Don't know why ninjamorph pro doesn't work well. I'm thinking that it's gettimg conflicts from busybox. Btw, how do you change the icon resolution again? Mine's a bit bigger when using the extensions for fb and camera.
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
Nice tutorial. You will help many to change icons. You may want to warn people about changing the resolution for Conversations.apk or else the add attachments icons look like this:
Lol.
I just fixed it by lowering the conv_take_photo.png resolution(72x72 or whatever works for your phone) and changed whatever else would show up when attaching things to message. Here it is fixed.
Edit* Tapatalk wont let me post another pic

Hi there I just see this great mod by Taine0 of 360 Launcher, but there was a problem, that's an old version and doesn't support transparent status bar, so I made the same for the new 360 launcher and looks pretty well and actually you can use icon packs and so on. I just want to share this and I take no credits since it was Taine0 idea.
It would be awesome if someone could make icon packs for it and publish them on this thread. 360 Launcher works like a charm on our Ace.

you can add it directly to the apk with winrar or 7zip
example for adding icons:
if the activity is com.android.contacts2
the icon must be named like this: app_com_android_contacts2.png
Or you can download a icon pack and then replace the icons inside, actually is a pretty easy way to modify

With the latest update of 360 you can use icons with no name like this:
Also, you can pick an icon for a specific app or rename it and so on

As we all know, we love out Sony Xperias for how cool they look with certain themes we choose. The themes that change the whole UI to a certain colour. A feature present even in the early stages of JB for out beloved Xperia S. But one thing i noticed is that despite the in depth implementation of the themes in JB the backgroud doesnt change. Dont get me wrong, i like the dark grey textured background but i wold love to change that optionaly via themes, a feature that was possible in ICS. So got the matter into my own hands and searched till a found a mod implemented in a Xperia V ROM made by danisariandi witch i wanted to share to you all. They still have the textured background but they change colour acording to the choosed theme.
Do it at your one risk.
I recomend you do a backup first
Requiremens
Stock Sony JB (apperantly they work on Xperia T,V,TX,S, and problably work on P and GO JB)
Root
Instructions
Just copy the files in to system/apps and replace the original ones
(Note: the Xperia theme is light grey, personaly i like the dark grey better)
They dont intall over eachother.

UPDATE
So in the ICS times, Xperia T had an extra theme called Skyfall witch came with the James Bond branded Xperia T, the apk mod worked on several Xperia ICS enabled phones (includind Xperia S) giveing our phones an extra theme besides the stock ones working in paralel without haveing to replace one or the other. In the JB situation in Xperia S case the stock themes where Amber, Emerald, Sapphier, Silk, Xperia, Amethist and Ruby and as for Xperia P JB the stock themes where Amber, Emerald, Sapphier, Silk, Xperia, Amethist and Quartz exchangeing Ruby with Quartz. So thx to Ben Ling who shared the theme with me i pushed it to system/apps and i am proud to say that it works flowlessly, giveing me an extra xperia theme. I uploaded the stock not moddified one. Hope you can enjoy!

I got many different tastes to download down there.. so you may get confused in selection  because all of them are so suitable and matching the stock lockscreen wallpapers and also the other wallpapers. but you can just download them all, and keep changing them from time to time, same like i do.
Requirement: ROOTED/DEODEXED
This is only for: S, SL, Acro S, ION running JB 4.1.2
For Custom and non-deodexed roms:
*Please don't ask me if it works or not because I don't know. Just backup and make a try your self.
*I do not do any modification in these lockscreens. Just download them the way it was made.
Installation:
1- Back up your phone first. I'm not responsible for any bootloop. save a copy of your stock UxpNxtLockScreen.apk in case you'd like to revert back to your original lockscreen.
2- Copy UxpNxtLockScreen.apk that you downloaded and paste it in system folder, give it permission as: rw -r -r, then move to app folder and overwrite it with the existing one.
3- lock your screen. After you press on power button and the screen lit up, you'll have the new lockscreen there. this is how it worked for me, but if somehow didn't work like that, then go to Settings-Apps-All. scroll down to '' Lock screen'' then, Clear data. lock your screen again, press the power button again, and the screen will lit up with the new lockscreen. That's all.
Test: ALL worked perfectly on my Xperia S running stock jb 4.1.2
There are 6 selections of lockscreen styles + some screenshots to show you how it looks when sliding to camera or to walkman, when the icons highlighted, the transparency of slider, the walkman player, how the color change according to the lockscreen wallpaper, in some Z1 themes and other extra themes.
I got 89 Screenshot with many different wallpapers from the stock and others, but it's too much to upload in here. I uploaded as much as possible to show you how all looks like, but if anyone would like to see them all, just go to the link below:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]
The screenlock wallpapers are 4k Ultra HD 2160p (3840 x 2160)

you welcome!
well, just clear data in lock screen, u found in settings, apps, all... or reboot!
it should work if u are changing a wallpaper from the stock... for other wallpapers especially when the resolution is so big doesn't take it as a lock screen wallpaper and u will notice that when u select one and clicked on done, if it get u back to gallery the photo wasn't selected otherwise its done!
there is no bug in my MOD! i kept trying it for more than 3 days on my xperia S, so it should work for u pretty fine!
Hi again XDA-Developers and modders. As the title say, yes it is blur. Since GB doesnt support ScriptIntrinsicBlur, its getting hard to make it and throungh custom views, it became laggy. There is only one shot for here, FLAGS. I analyze, last time I made a fullscreen lockscreen guide and it made up of flag. Now I brought to you the blur here
Updated: New Steps
I think there is no post like this yet so Ill be making it.
Requirement:
Brain
Apktool
Notepad
Steps:
1. Pull your android.policy.jar (located at system/framework)
2. Decompile your android.policy.jar in apktool
3, After decompiling find this smali inside your android.policy.jar
KeyguardViewManager.smali
4. Find this method under KeyguardViewManager.smali
.method public declared-synchronized show()V
5. Inside the show()V find this, (dont worry it is only one in there)
0x10000800 (if you are not using fullscreen)
0x10000900 (if you followed my earlier guide in fullscreen lockscreen)
0x4 (if you followed my earlier guide)
6. Change it to 0x10000504
7. Save and compile.
8. Flash. Hehe
Troubleshooting:
For those have no effect of blur in lockscreen, check this
1. Decompile your framework-res.apk
2. Go to res/values/bools
3. find these and make it like this
<bool name="config_sf_slowBlur">false</bool>
4. Save
5. Compile

Disclaimer: I am not reliable for the bootloop device. Read and read. It saves you. And also , device having API 14 (JellyBean) cant do this because FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND is depreciated in API 14 and above. If symptom persist consult yar doctor(me). No approve therapeutic claims
