My dad has an iHome iW1 which he used to use with his iPhone for Airplay. Now he has a Nexus 4 and he wants to do the same thing. Is there an app that would allow him to do this?

Just found on engadget, and looks nice, so far Supported phones:
We have successfully gotten the Bluetooth Game Gripper working on these devices and will be avidly testing it on more in the coming weeks.
I-phone 4
Ipad
DroidX
HTC Touch Pro II
Nexus one
Nexus S
Motorola Click
Galaxy S tab
With these phones, it does not work with the native bluetooth application or the Blueinput driver but we will continue to try to get them to work using other drivers
HTC Hero
HTC Evo
Samsung Epic
Palm Pixi
Now i just have a question will a custom kernel fix this issue with the bluetooth, or an asop rom?
I can connect my wii remote to my phone using cyanogenmod or miui. So I would thank this would work also.
yeah, I guess, Just pledged and asked the developer to test it out with a cynogen or miui. Hopefully it works, and this baby will be mine.
I would buy one of these for my evo as well.
I can only imagine how ridiculous my TP2 would look in this thing while the slide was open hahaha. It would be pretty convenient for the evo though, a wiimote alone doesn't have enough buttons for fighting games, and plugging in my classic controller just looks silly.
exactly, now if the nook only gets bluetooth.
Eh my wii remote works fine with the classic controller. I poker the remote. I might rig up a little dock for it but this is definitely awesome

thanks for the heads up, pledged for one, hope they make it to the 30K mark!
Been waiting on something like this, just hope they can get it to work with stock evo.
All i know is that the dev answered my question and tested the evo with cm7, works great video up now.

The only game I'd want from the bundle, Uplink, isn't compatible with the Nexus 7

It's not recommended to run on a smaller tablet, but you can install it anyways. They don't restrict you, it's just the buttons are a little small and the text harder to read on the 7inch screen.
I've been playing it just fine though.
I loaded both the games that appear incompatible and I have not had. crash yet.

OK so looking to get real for some gaming. Some games just require a true controller to play it. With that said what is the controller to get out there?
Something easy, plug and play would be great. Wireless preferred but not needed. Ability to pick it up locally would be wonderful, as going on a trip soon.

MOGA is the most widely supported.
PS3 is my choice just because I like the 4 way pad for certain games. It requires root for the drivers to use wirelessly but is plug and play via cable.
The OUYA controller is also good. All can be purchased from GameStop.

Moga Pro, pick one up from best buy and take it on your trip. If you end up not liking it just return it.

Just got the Red Samurai from GameStop the other day as well I do have a PS3 controller as well.
Though really my question is which is better? Sort of torn on what to do. Never really understood how to effectively setup profiles on the PS3 controller which never seemed to work for half the games I tried it with. So maybe a my bad on that one. The Red Samurai seemed to work nice and quickly probably guess I need to test both of them out to see what is better.
Just curious to what people are using for gaming or the preferred controller since no matter what it seems like there is some tweaking involved with every one out there.
Oh and did try to see about the Moga Pro when I was in Best Buy the other day, didn't have one at all.
Whatever works. You can use key mappers to make more games work. No different for a PS3 gamepad. The MOGA just has "official" support for some games, which is a nice touch. The ingame menu's and stuff detect the Moga and change accordingly.
There might even be wrappers that allow you to make the tablet think it's connected to a Moga.
I know we do this on the Ouya where some games won't detect the Ouya controller, but we can plug in a USB device (keyboard/mouse/etc) and then it will detect the Ouya controller as a plain jane and start working. I know it's harder on a tab vs a dedicated gaming unit with a full USB port.
I would recommend nyko playpad pro just got them a week ago the controller itself supports many game from the play store without doing any modification all you need to do is pair it up with nexus 7. so far I've tried a neo geo emulator call tiger meme and the controller works flawlessly. the price is very reasonable compare to the steel free series, moga build quality seems decent. I got them for £26 in uk.

I use PS3 controllers with all of my Android devices. PS3 is my preferred controller layout anyway, so it works perfectly for me. To use it wireless, you'll need root and the Sixasis app from the Play Store. If you haven't rooted, you need to have it plugged in to an OTG cable. You can easily find one locally at Best Buy, BrandsMart, HH Greg, Walmart, and the list goes on, pretty much anywhere that sells electronics will have one. It will work with any game that has controller support. If the game doesn't natively support a controller, you can still use it by just making a custom game map for it. It's super easy and works flawlessly!

Original what? I'm assuming you mean the original controller that came with my PS3 console. If that's what you meant, then yes, one that I use came with my console while another one I use was purchased separately when the PS3 was first released. Both are authentic Sony. That's the most important thing to beware of when buying from eBay, especially from overseas sellers. I've seen a LOT of legit looking knock offs on there! Some don't even say that they aren't authentic Sony, but if it's coming from China, new in the box, and only $25, then you can bet it's a fake.
Don't know if the controller you linked will work or not. The description says that it isn't made by Sony, so it's really a 50/50 chance. Some have got knock off controllers to work, while others have had problems. The Sixaxis app states that third party controllers aren't supported, so they aren't guaranteed to work. Even if it does work initially, who knows how long it will last before breaking or dying. I personally wouldn't risk it. Just buy the real thing and be done with it. You know with an authentic Sony controller then it will last for many MANY years of normal usage. Actually, I've NEVER had an authentic Sony controller go bad! That's through the original PlayStation, PS2, and now PS3.

Is there any way to get Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Headphone on Nexus 7 with software ?
I've had my Nexus 7 LTE for a few months now and can't run movies in virtual surround with headphones at all even with Viper4Android Mod that doesn't work at all with movies for me.
I've searched for any player that support these technologies for Nexus 7 and didn't find any. The only app that has all the features that I want is CineXPlayer HD but it is only available for iOS.
I was about to sell my Nexus 7 and get iPad Mini with Retina Display but read about its color accuracy problems and I can't handle iPad Air size so I decided to stick with my Nexus 7 hoping to find a solution.
Kindle Fire HDX and MS Surface 2 both have DD Plus, so why not the Nexus 7 ?
Nothing ?!

Viper4android works fine for movies. You need selinux set to permissive though.
Of course the kids are clamoring about these for christmas but I wanted to get input from you actual owners about what things you could do with your note 4 with either one.
I know with the ps3 you could stream video I believe but I'm not familiar with these new consoles.
I own a ps4. There's a playstation companion app that you can use a sort of a touchpad (with limited capabilities), as well as start downloads etc from the playstation store from the phone. I used to own a Xbox 360 but I feel the smart glass app for the Xbox one is more feature rich than the playstation offering. That being said both apps have their limitations and do not make or break the console experience. As far as extra features such as media streaming (from you device) believe it or not the ps3 has both of them beat, Google it. Just go for whatever console you feel is better in terms of games because there are no killer features (well Sony xperia phones can do second screen remote play but it's only for Sony phones) as of yet.

cant beat Xbox SmartGlass
also they update this app so often with features it nuts. there is also a Beta version to try stuff as they test it HERE
also i just broke 1,000 posts and just realized it. i need to seriously look at my time here
Xbox 1
I don't have a ps4 but the xbox smartglass app works great for the 360 or the xbox one.
Each console has a separate app.
