[Q] USB Mass Drive - HTC One X

Hello i've just found a problem with my htc one x usb mass drive support, every time i try to connect it to my samsung tv it does not recognize my phone storage so i can't play music, videos etc through my mobile on the tv,haven't got that problem with htc desire hd,anyone got something about it?Thanks.

Are you on Jellybean ? If so, it has MTP storage. Its different from usb mass storage.
Are you rooted or running a custom rom ?

android 4.1.1-Update download legally didn't do anything with my phone

Yeah that's a common problem. There is no usb mass storage anymore on the stock jellybean roms !

Thanks,so it is a software matter then, couldn't there be some app that solve that"issue"?
Actually i think that i've found something,a "multi mount sd-card" app
Will check how does it work.

Not official. When you are on custom roms its already possible......

Never tried a custom rom is it really that risky what exactly do you get from it,perhaps i could try....

Well a custom rom can bring a more developed piece of software, custom kernels that are more optimized. Root function for certain apps and usb mass storage.
You will void warranty !

Just popping in to say it's totally worth it !
Original HTC software is miserable crap in terms of stability, and customizability compared to most custom ROMs.

Don't really care about warranty, but is it true that the root may fail and my phone will not be working and become useless?

If you read carefully and do everything as said, your precious phone will be 100% safe.

Then i say ...... go for it !!! You won't regret it !

If you want to upgrade to kernel 3.1 with OTA, you have options.
You can unlock and just upgrade kernel.
You can.install a custom ROM and upgraded kernel.
You can try to install a JB ROM and kernel, this requires CID__621, or an European unbranded phone.
To go back to stock, don't upgrade the hboot, which rules out the last option. Even then, the bootloader will say relocked vs locked.

Requesting guidance for unlocking bootloader, rooting, installing custom rom

Hey, I have an HTC One V(CDMA) runing on stock rom and I want to install a custom rom and overclock my phone. I am not very knowledgeable on rooting Android devices so I am asking for some assistance. My phone has its bootloader relocked. I want to know how to unlock my bootloader again, root my phone, install a custom rom and overclocking my phone. Please be specific on your instructions and thank you for helping me out. My goal is to make my phone as fast as it can be and to be on par with current smartphones.

This may seem like an obvious idea, but are you making sure your actual phone is in fastboot mode? (Step 10 under unlocking your bootloader in the tutorial linked above.) Usually when I get this it's because I forgot to do that, assuming everything is connected.
Do you have windows 8?

Return to stock

I rooted my phone and flashed some custom rom.
It's 1 year the usb port is not working anymore and now I want to repair the phone (still in warranty) so I'll send it at HTC service shop. I don't wanna have problems with the warranty, it's only an hardware problem, so I want to go back to stock beacuse they HAVE TO fix my problem, even if the problem is not related with the root.
Is there a way to return to stock not using the usb port but only the SD card?
I'd want to be more stock as possible, so first I have to find the stock rom (and I think I can't use the RUUs because of the USB not working).
Then I should return to stock recovery and to stock bootloader, but I totally don't know how to do it.
Please help me, I don't want to change phone, I love my WFS...Thanks!

"still in warranty" u lost when u unlock bootloader Sorry u try find other service, or servicer where work ur good friends
Due it is a hardware related problem HTC should repair the USB port. If your device is a European one you can flash a tool by theq86 to lock your bootloader then flash when you are on cm Rom stock recovery then flash crossfire77 perfectly stock not even rooted Rom.

As soulja already said. Boot the phone to the bootloader and recovery. Reflash a rom. If that is impossible to achieve there is absolutely nothing we can do.

Good try the Adb command Adb reboot bootloader see if you can get into that but might be tricky
Edit.... Just seen your last post hope you have insurance
Won't something like this work on that device, of course downloading the correct HTC One M8 equivalent files?
qhsusb_bulk detection lg g2 fix
what dongle i need for it ?
But if the device is not even switching on its a no go right ?

Yeah.
I can recall also reading something some time ago about making your SD Card(External) the bootable one and then fixing the "internal" from there but I'm not sure if that will even work either, was for another device as well.
I don't think a lot of developers/"hackers" on here sat down trying to figure out solutions to a problem that isn't so frequent on this device. I mean, who would flash a LG "anything" on an HTC...
Just wondered if it might work out seeing as it at least "detects" that much from the phone. It's a type of Qualcomm recovery mode isn't it, QHUSB-etc etc
Figured that maybe it is in a "semi" on condition already, it's just that you can't do anything with it. But if it's completely broke then might as well take it into service center for repair. Don't know what you're gonna tell them though @escoda
Yep. From what i know on the htc one x, once you turn off the phone completely (no hibernation mode) and you plug it in the pc it goes automatically to a adb hibernation mode. That's why its in the device manager. So it reads the device but can't respond correctly. But to get a step ahead it's very necessary to turn the device on.
@escoda its not completely bricked yet. Just go to ubuntu and follow the guide mentioned from Brendm14. Like he also said you only need to download then those files for the htc one m8. Most qualcomm devices have everything on the same partition but you could probably examine or the bootloader and the other required stuff are the same partition number as in the guide. If so then you still just need to download the htc files and do it the same.
I dont know where you can get the htc files since I am/was an LG user.

Those files are present on any firmware.zip for the appropriate phone model.
Flashing just a wrong kernel would not do that. Something must have happened that messed with the bootloader.

Not yet....
I was suspecting a hardware issue but it happened right after selecting CHARGE ONLY...
I dunno what the hell had happened. The usb port is intact. My celphone has only 3 months.
The most curious part is that it doesnt even show in device manager, windows doesnt even do a reaction when i plug it to usb. It only charges.
I noticed that fast charge is not working too.

Ahh i c well at least your liking your new phone. I always preferred snapdragon over Intel as well until the sd810 that is. I can't complain however this phone is smooth and i get great battery life 6.25-7.25 hrs sot with 24+ hrs standby on average. To be honest it was just bought for a backup phone (plus to tinker with to pass some time) but it just might become main phone for awhile and just leave the bootloader locked and stock unrooted until I decide what I really want for my main device beings I don't foresee any benefit in modding it for my use.

Jacques, i tried even go back to stock rom but nothinh. So i think is hardware related.
I read in a blog that malfunction with simtray could cause this but... i dont know any one that can confirm that. My priority is to relock bootloader and go back to stock recovery without PC... it´s possible?
