No, as its the battery getting charged, the ROM has nothing to do with it. Its definitely not recommended, at least from my side

3 hrs charging never completely charges my phone to 100 %
yes but it does upto 80%.

ow haha i charge my mobile the whole night long, never had problems
Sent from my One V using xda premium

yea it still remains a mystery......sometimes it can fry your battery....other times its just harmless

[Q] G2 Takes 13 hours to fully charge

okay so my G2 takes about 13 hours to charge to 100% and then when i unplug the charger my phone reboots and it loads back up and the battery says 0% and dies. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Do I just need a new battery?
obviously not normal, and definitely a rare incident. almost certainly means you need a new battery
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
13 hours wow... u need a new battery or your charger not giving enough energy
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
try clearing battery stats.... but most likely needs a replacement.... btw next time put this in the Qand A or general section

That joke flew way over your head..
LOL @ Ionic.
It maybe a few things....
I had same problem when I had my behold II and it had problem with OS (stupid 1.6) I had to get a replacement phone after I went to the tmo store n tested the battery using battery charge widget n guy went like yeah that's def not battery n called in replacement phone.
I also had same issue when I flashed cyan on my G1 incorrectly and same thing with Cliq xt.
Try fully wipe(especially battery stats), flash OS, don't flash any apps n try to charge the phone also try different Rom.

[Q] Battery Stuck/ Not Charging

First of all, is it rooted? If yes, what rom do you have? You have custom recovery?
If not try this. Charge the phone and when the green led is on power off the device and leave it to charge for another 1 hour.
No it is not rooted. The problem is that the green light never appears because it doesn't fully charge.

Will do. I have never let the battery drain completely. Do you think that can be a reason why it's not charging. Thanks

Same problem
I had the same problem with one week old VM One V. Charged to 80% and no more. Discharged (auto turned off at 10%) and it charged to 100 one time. Then charged only to 84%. Discharged again, went down to 6% before shutting down. After a couple more cycles, including unplugging after "full" charge to 84%, then replugging and getting to 100%, finally two days in a row woke up to a green light and 100% from a 20-30% level at bed time. Only issue now seems to be two widgets show different battery levels, e.g. 63% on battery monitor widget pro, 53% on Elixer pro battery widget. The icon at the top looks more like 60%.
Not rooted, waiting a while. Love the phone, wish it were dual core, but runs as well as my Droid X and much better battery life. Nice design and feel.
have you resolved your issue Relgozen??
Yes your advice was very helpful. Should I continue to charge my device only when the battery dies?
Thanks again

if you dont need it fully charged everyday then yes, but i wont say never charge when you only have x amount of battery, because my phone goes on charge @85% sometimes
Ok thank you

So now that the problem went away I was not afraid to root my phone. Now, my battery is saying it has been on 97% for four hours. It is rooted. Any help? Thanks
UPDATE:after resetting the phone about 5 times the battery indicator went back to normal. Sorry for the extra post

(Q)How long does it take you to charge phone?

How long does it usually take to charge your s3 fully? I ask because mine has always charged very fast but lately its taking sooo long to charge and I dont know why..what do you guys think?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
with the standard charger came with S3, usually took around 2h30 to fully charge.
Mine used to charge super fast but now its taking soooo long.. its takin me an unusually long amount of time.. any body know what could be up ?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I can't really tell you a time exact but not that long. Last night I was at 50% plugged it in and charged completely in bout 45 - 1hr. I usually don't touch it tho.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Takes me a about 2hrs. With the charging accessories that came with my phone. Are you using the original charging accessories?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Rogue app.
Yes everything I use is official samsung came outta the box.. I had been flashin quite a few roms then went back to complete stock lj4 and it just seems like its taking way too long to charge.. ive never noticed this problem infact I was always alarmed at how fast it would charge
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
With the phone turned off, it takes mine about 2 hours to charge.
When you flashed this last rom did you wipe data/factory reset?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I have a Q: My rom (SlimRom2.9.0) has an option for Quick Charge mode, where it will charge faster but you loose USB connectivity functionality (for connecting to a computer).
Will the SGS3 also take advantage of a higher output (2.1a) USB charger, ala iPad chargers? Does the circuitry inside detect and is smart enough to adapt?
Look at the battery stats and see if something is hogging it. Get something like battery drain analyzer to see the percentage you're charging at.
You guys think it has anything to do with the stock lj4 kernel? My battery life kicks ass 4 hours screen on with 17 + hours of battery life.. still charging is slower than usual. Hmmmm

I would try to drain the battery all the way down, then with the phone off, recharge it back to 100%.
After that see if there's any improvement.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Been on the charger for 4 hours ive been using it and booting to recovery here and there and from 8% im still only on 85%.. so damn strange. Tonight im going to borrow my buddys charger and see if it improves.. but this sucks
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Mine takes about 2 hours from 15% sometimes I'll be playing a sandbox game and it will take much longer. Just don't unplug it when you plug it in.
My unicorn died, back on the pony.
Could it be a faulty battery?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Like most others on this post, my GS3 will take roughly 2 hours to charge.
Depends where I am charging from, usually I end my day with around 20-30% battery life still.

It could be. But to be sure id do the full cycle I mentioned before, and even consider flashing back to stock! Just for testing. You can always nandroid and go back if you like. Though a fresh rom flash may be better.

I use the charger from my 10.1 tab. I believe it runs at 5 amps. Definitely charges faster although I've never timed it by how much. If I charge it on the wall charger that came with my chinese batteries, it takes over 9 hours sometimes. Yet the chinese batteries only ever charge up to 91% on it's own charger, I have to charge the rest once I put it in the phone. Weird.

Overheating solution?

My HOX it overheating up to 50°C (battery) while playing a simple game 2 minutes. There is any solution ?
Thanks !

Could disable two cores. That helps a lot of heat with no performance hit, other than in benchmarks.

Although just kissing a bit of liquid nitrogen would lower the temp to about -250 C would definitively solve the heat problems but would kill your battery.
I would suggest dry ice at a more usable -50 C.

[Q] SentinelRom poor battery.

So I recently installed this Rom, immediately after I saw that it boasted about having the ability to add an amazing battery life.
Now I've seen a couple of threads, and videos of guys proving this. So I was quite excited that I will be able to have a great battery life, more use of my phone, rather than just 6-8 hours.
However, after installing it last night, and charging it, I noticed today, that I only had the phone on for 6 hours, and already it was down to 11%.
I didn't even use my phone that much. It may have downloaded one or two apps, but that's it. So, I've reinstalled the ROM, to see if this will fix it.
Anyone one else used this ROM with the HTC One X and experienced the same thing?
Also new to the forum, and using roms, so be gentle :silly:

So essentially, use it till the battery is dead, and then charge it up, a few days?
Cheers.
No. Just charge it like normal. These batteries like partial charges not full charges.

I've just heard great stuff for this Rom on battery life, and it's just not impressive so far. It seems to be worse than normal.
