Hi all,
My first post! I have a new Galaxy Note II LTE version (N7105) that's having some google problems. I've read through just about everything I could find, but nothing is working for me, so I hope someone here can help!
Whenever I'm on 3G/HSPA/HSPA+, various Google services don't work fully. Things I've noticed so far:
Play store will open and show the opening page, but fails to connect to display any app info or pictures (no error 495, just connection timeout); oddly, I can go on my computer and install an item from the Play store website and it will download almost instantly to my phone.
Gmail will open and receive messages just fine, but won't send until I connect to LTE or wifi (though it says it's sending)
I can perform a normal google search, but when I try to switch to images, the connection fails
I can search in Maps, but driving directions fail; navigation works, though
The weird thing is that LTE or wifi work just fine for all of the above. I can do everything else as normal on 3G - no problems viewing webpages or using Whatsapp, for example.
I've tried clearing app caches and resetting the phone, rooting & using Set DNS, deleting & recreating APNs, all to no avail. Please, can anyone help?

Connection problem. Go to settings/apps/all apps and clear data of Google Services Framework. That sometimes helps, you may have to do that af few times though.
Make sure to wipe all apps from the cache too (pressing and holding home button and select all apps).

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, that put the Google Play Store into an endless force-close loop and I ended up having to reset the phone. Even after a reset, though, it's still having the connection problems. I'm starting to think it might just be something with my service provider...
You have to flash back stock rom or any other custom rom.

The last it happened it turned out to be issue with the Market itself, but now no one is taking about it and I have not been able to get any updates or download anything from the Market for days.
I've tried every suggestion I came across to no avail; clearing cache, data in any app that seems to have anything to do with downloading from the Market, logging in/out/in to GTalk, downgrading the Market app to stock. Nothing works, and it all started happening out of the blue; no problem one day, and the next day the Market doesn't work no matter what.
I don't remember making any changes to the phone, it's been setup a while ago and running to my satisfaction, except for one thing; some days before the Market stopped working I started noticing that my battery wasn't holding up as well as it used to, but I don't know it this has anything to do with the matter at hand. I'm on a rooted 2.2.1 (mistakenly) released by US TMo with a Go Launcher EX.
So, is it me and my phone, or something outside of my doing. I would hate to do a factory reset, so would anyone have a better plan of action.
Thanks

Thanks, but no change.
I don't know how to say in English. In Chinese, in the settings that have a setting call 資料節省模式.If you tick it, you can't download anything in market.

In the American ROM there are three settings in the Data Manager under Data Delivery; Background Data, Data Roaming, and Data Enabled. I guess the closest would be the last one and it pertains to having data enabled over mobile network. All but the roaming were enabled.
@scrannel: It was happening in both, mobile and WiFi.
Thanks guys, frustrated, I ended up doing a factory reset and restore after all. Now my battery use is back to normal (i.e. excellent) too.
Drat, things (software settings) are fragile; falling apart under normal use.
I am experiencing the same problem. Tried a lot of methods like clearing cache and all but nothing worked.
Everytime I start a download it says 'downloading' for a few seconds and then says 'download paused' and remains there.
This issue is on wifi only, and happened out of the blue yesterday. On my 3g data connection the apps download just fine.
What can I do?
I am having the same problem with downloads from the market, but only on 3g. Everything is fine on WiFi. 99/100 times, an App will take forever to download on 3g, pausing 5-10x during the process. This has been going on since Friday I believe. I have switch roms, complete data wipe, formatted my memory card, deleted .android-secure on teh SD card, nothing helps.
I don't know if its the 3g network or what, but it's really starting to aggravate me
Settings -> Data manager -> Data Saver -> untick "Enable Data Saver" should do the trick
Data Saver off wouldn't help those of us who got "WiFi-exclusive" Market stucks.
Worse yet, sometimes at certain WiFi networks (for example those they give at Starbucks) it works just fine, stuff downloads in huge chunk (from waiting list). Then on other WiFi it wouldn't work.
I even tried it at home WiFi spot with all firewall offline, and still no cigars - "paused".
My market suddenly started working again, but now after a few days it says 'downloads paused' again..
What is happening!

i had the same problem with my stock 2.2.1 defy (but in my case the market got stuck on the old version and wouldnt even update itself). the only thing that helped was doing a factory reset from recovery, and now everything works fine. but afaik there's an app backup option (only in 2.2), so if you do a factory reset you can have most of your apps installed in a minute from backup. good luck!
downloading
Even i am having the same problem when ever it paused like that i will open android market and it will download automatically again try to do like that.

im still on android 2.1 no update yet
i have same problem since i downgrade from CM7 to Official froyo any solution ?
For some reason my GN doesn't wan to download any apps from the market over mobile network, 4g or 3g. I can't even download small apps, 30-35kb size. Download starts then it says "downloading" for about 5 min and then message pops up " download failed" or "Error downloading. There is insufficient space on the device". I have 27 GB available and Wifi downloads work perfect.
Any pointers? Should I change some kind of settings?
Open the Menu -> Settings in the marketplace and see if "Update over Wi-Fi only" is turned on.

cleared cache, restarted the phone (just in case) but still no go. I just think its strange that wifi has no issues and mobile does. As soon as I connect to wifi it's working properly
any other ideas? This is so freaking frustrating.
Are you able to browse the Internet fine over 3G/4G?
I would do a Factory Reset, if still no go contact VZW for an exchange.
I will try factory reset. Something just weird happened. My phone received and answered automatically a call from *22899. After a few sec it just ended by itself. WTF is going on

Its updating the PRL I believe. Chill.
trying ClockWorkMod (Hold Vol- and Power button at reboot then choose RECOVERY). See it it works
alright progress: now it doesn't say "not enough space", download just simply never goes through and shows "downloading" for 15 min now. Have anyone tried to microwave GN?
Flash stock images..
I have a stock Verizon CDMA GNex, and started running into this after downloading apps without incident for the first couple of weeks after getting the phone. What I noticed is that when I initiate the download of an app from a PC web browser -- it USED to work flawlessly -- and I thought it was pretty cool that I could be on a web browser on any PC, and if logged into my Google account I could initiate a download on my GNex as long as it was online, somewhere. Anyway - this worked fine at first.
Then, after downloading half a dozen or so apps, I started getting the "error downloading" / "insufficient space" error on the device any time I initiated the download from a PC. However - I could still do the download from the App Market if I initiated it from the GNex itself (not the PC). This has been consistent for the last week or so, until I finally got to the point where even starting the download from the GNex wouldn't work.
What fixed things for me (at least temporarily): clearing data and cache for both the App Market app and the Download Manager. No need to reboot, etc. Just clearing the data and cache from the Market and download manager seems to let things work again - from either the device itself or a remote PC running the web version of the Market.
Pretty weird though. When I google this, it appears this is a known issue going back something like 3 months. I'd think it could be pretty easy to address, and have the download manager and the Market clean up after themselves, and also check before attempting a new download and do the clean up then if needed. We shouldn't have to do this manually!

I had the same problem a couple of times. The easiest way to solve it is to run Lucky Patcher and you'll see a toast notification that unused data/odex has been removed. That should solve the problem.
You'll probably have to be rooted though. Not sure if Lucky Patcher works on non-rooted GNs.
Hit 'Thanks' if I helped. Cheers!

Thanks! For whatever reason, I haven't run into this in at least a couple of months...actually forgot about it...
Hey guys been using the HOX since about 3 months and have absolutely no problems with it, except for one very, very irritating problem. I just can't seem to download anything from the play store through my wi-fi connection.
I can surf, I can download apk's, videos, songs from the browser on wi-fi i can even surf the play store on wi-fi but I just can't seem to get the downloads started, there are no error numbers. Just the message saying "Downloading" I have tried aosp, sense, and miui but nothing seems to solve the problem. Also it does download whatever I want on a 2G connection, I can't test 3G since I don't have access.
These are things I've already tried through other forums please let me know if you guys can think of something else.
1. Changed computer dns server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 this helped I think for only one download to get through and then it ended up being stuck for other downloads.
2. Cleared cache/data from Play store and tried, no difference.
3. signed out from google talk, no difference.
Someone please help me out, I thought I'd be able to put up with it, but its very frustrating now!
Anyone?!
The same thing happens to me immediately after flashing a new ROM. I always need to download Titanium backup to restore my apps and the Play store won't let me unless I move to another wifi connection where it all works fine again.
I think it's dark magic.

If you have a rooted phone, install "system app remover" and uninstall the play app,and reinstall the app.
I'm able to access the Play Store without issue on carriers data network, but the moment I connect to Wi-Fi (tried it at work, and at home) I get either No Connection with a 'Retry' button, or a Server Error with a 'Retry' button.
All other internet services work no problem. I can browse the web, stream music, anything.
Using the rom located here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261013
It has worked no problem on this rom before so I don't believe it to be an issue with the rom. I've cleared the data from the play store and still no go.
Any ideas?
*Also appears Google Music and Maps isn't playing over Wi-Fi either. Seems to be any Google related service.

I was able to get this resolved by doing the following:
Settings > More > Application Manager
Swipe to the right to get to the ALL menu
Scroll down to Google Service Framework
Clear Cache, Clear Data, Force Stop
Go back to Application Manager and go up to the Android icon Downloads
Clear Data
Power off device for 1 minute
On Power On, it still did not work however I repeated the steps for the Google Service Framework, and after a force stop it automatically came back up and all Google services were working again.
Hope this helps anyone else that may run into this issue.:fingers-crossed:

I searched, but I didn't find anything. If the thread is out there, please, point me in the right direction.
OK, so... This makes absolutely NO SENSE to me, but... On my way to work this morning, I decided to try checking out the maps and navigation. Well, I turned on Maps, it worked. I turned on Navigation, then all of the sudden, Airplane mode turned on and it will NOT turn off. I tried to manually turn it off several times, but it just turns right back on instantly. I've restarted. I've powered down and powered back up.
I'm Rooted with nothing else changed. No ROMS or Kernals or anything.
Help, please?!

Sorry....more specific.
1) Go to Settings (looks like a gear)
2) then to Application manager
3) scroll down to Maps
4) Clear data or uninstall. your choice, I would start with clear data first and see if that works.

yeah, that's what I thought you meant, but it doesn't show up in there...:crying:
I just powered down and pulled out the battery and SIM card, and SD card. Prior to that, I went in to the Maps app and cleared the cache that way.
Is there a file or something I can go in to edit via a file explorer or something and modify?
*Going into Google Play store to uninstall Google Maps now*
*edit* OK, went into Google Play to Uninstall Google Maps, and then restart... My phone hates me. Or rather Airplane Mode REALLY, REALLY likes me... This is really getting to me... I have a glorified calculator and book on my hands w/o service....
Any ideas? Anyone?

I remember running into this once before... factory wipe from the android settings menu didn't nail it, but from recovery it did. -shrugs-
anyway, I also hear that this is a bug within wi-fi calling.. I believe you get on wifi, turn wifi calling off, then turn wifi off.
