Hello guys i have an E977 and normally when i need to restore it to factory, by that i mean installing stock rom and unroot, i use the LGMobile Support Tool. But now every time that the LGMobile Support Tool starts the analysis it stops and tells me that the battery level is not sufficient. My battery is full 100%. I have been trying since yesterday with no success. I have tried different usb ports and uninstall and install the LGMobile Support Tool. I need help with this because the KDZ_FW_UPD method always fails at extracting the firmware so i always use the Support tool.
[R&D Test Tools Log File]
08:35:01 : Launching SW update
08:35:01 : Unpacking KDZ
08:35:06 : KDZ file extraced
08:35:07 : Extract file error
08:35:09 : ===FINISHED===
Is there another way i can install the KDZ?
I was gonna use LG PC Suite but since the phone has a custom rom installed it does not connect to the suite.
Did you try with another computer ? :/ what OS are you using?
The file is above 1gb thats why you getting error.. I dont know how to fix...

Hi I'm a noob who just bricked my F240L (korean ver.):crying: I somehow wiped my system partition and the result is disastrous; KDZ flashing is impossible via R&D / support tool and I can't even get into the recovery mode. Only download mode is available.
I heard that it could be fixed by using NPST but I only can find the files for E980 at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272177, not 240x series. Moreover, KDZ files for OG Pro cannot be extracted by using LGExtractor so there is no way I can get this file by my own.
So is there any possible way for me to get those files??
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SOLVED----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to solve it ? I'm also having the same problem
I got the same problem also, mine is F240L (Korean version)
The differences is I can manage to enter CWM, but the CWM can't mount external SDcard. As if my MicroSD doesn't exist.
I got no backup file to restore via CWM 6.0.3.3.
Using R&D Tool to flash, after 10s update process. Appear error message "Insufficient Battery Level to Proceed", that's strange because the battery is 100% full.
Using KDZ Updater, the error message appear "File Extracted Error" for 2 KDZ files I got (10T and 10V).
Hard Reset didn't solve the problem.
Now I'm stuck in DOWNLOAD MODE and CWM 6.0.3.3 (can't do anything in CWM).
Before entering CWM, there's an error message "Secure Booting Error ! Cause : Device Unlock, so Boot success !"
Please, anyone would be so kindfull to HELP.
@stupididiotism can you explain how you solve it ?
@chimmot307 have you ever tried this version to flash (translate from chinese)
so my phone was bricked (only download mode available) 1hour ago:
go in download mode->install LG support tool->in menu go to "customer support"->"recovery phone"->(your imei should be here or enter it if not)->click check
and now wait it download the whole img and flash it for you
The firmware 10T in baidu.com is broken, asking for username and password to resume. Little HELP with the username and password, fellas ?
I follow your advice go to "customer support"->"recovery phone"
After 10s update process. Appear error message "Insufficient Battery Level to Proceed", that's strange because the battery is 100% full same with 2nd battery whose 100% full also.
It seems LG Corps. tried to block anyone outside Korean to update their phone (I live in Indonesia, got this phone from real Korean people who sale this phone in Indonesia illegally, because Indonesian market is E988-16GB storage compare to F240L more spacious).

Following your 1st advice, I managed to download the KDZ from baidu.com, and run the tutorial step by step. Everything runs smoothly.
Thanks in advance @smaybe. I owe you BIG one.
:good:
For those who got stuck in DOWNLOAD mode, you can follow these steps (in attachment).
LG PC Suite won't recognise my device (in DOWNLOAD MODE), it only recognise when in LG SOFTWARE MODE (Settings => PC Connection => USB Connection Type => LG Software).
So I can't go to Device => Firmware Recovery.
Why did you delete the 1st advice, @smaybe ? Totally recommended.
hi guys
I was in the worst condition : wiped system partition and moreover, I hard reset my 'rooted' phone.
Recovery mode not supported and kdz flashing also not working.
Then I found this divine tool called 'LG mobile flash tool v1.5' and I could find the tot and dll files for F240 series from some china website (I paid for that tho)
So my point is if anyone holding F240L and having the same problem as me. Then I can send you the files. I feel like posting the file here is a violation of intellectual property of the chinese devleoper(?! what am I saying?)

LG PC Suite sucks
I've updated to the latest version, it still doesn't recognise my F240L (in SOFTWARE MODE), it said "Need to change with the right cable" even when I swap with different USB cable.
Or maybe my Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) having problem in compatibility with PC Suite that won't recognise the USB. Cause, I haven't try with different operating system (Mac, or Windows XP)
Stuck in U+ LTE Logo
Dungeon Hunter 4 messing my Optimus G Pro in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380374
So I decided, to wipe system & data partition.
Hope that KDZ Updater will bring it back normal the way smaybe told me to.
KDZ Updater show 100% Finished, but my F240L still stuck in U+ LTE Logo.
So I try new LG Mobile Support Tool, Upgrade Recovery => IMEI=> OK. Updating to 1.69 GB, 100% finished, still stuck in U+ LTE Logo.
I haven't try LG Mobile Flash Tool 1.5, maybe stupididiotism could tell me step by step ! And not to forget to send the TOT & DLL files.
This is my email : [email protected]
Thanks in advance.
LG Flashtool Error Message
I run LG Flashtool according to website http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f177/lg-flash-tool-free-no-need-b2b-user-pass-1628819/index2.html
Extract F240L10t_00.kdz from Baidu.com, got 2 file :
- LGUP_GKV.dll
- F240L10t_00.dz
So I used those 2 file in LG Flashtool ( I don't know if those the correct files to use in LG Flashtool, cause I can't seem to find DLL file for F240L, but I think for S/W file is correct ).
Used port COM41 to flash (DOWNLOAD MODE is activated on F240L). Then I unplugged the USB cable for 5s, and replugged it. Error message appears as follow.
Am I using the correct DLL file to flash ? If not, would you be so kind to upload the DLL so I can flash my F240L ?
Thanks.
I need DLL file for LG FlashTool

LG Flashtool DOES the job
Finally, get my F240L working after stuck in U+ LTE Logo.
Using this method http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f177/lg-flash-tool-free-no-need-b2b-user-pass-1628819/index2.html
And got LGUP_GKV.DLL from extracting F240L10t_00.kdz from pan.baidu.com (see attachment)
And got TOT file from http://www.gaojituan.com/thread-90-1-1.html or http://www.optimusforums.com/threads/f240-optimus-g-pro-firmware-downloads.7679
I hope this solution might help someone who ever got this problem.
Enjoy this super AWESOME phone.

Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to thank all of you in the community for being so engaged and eager to help out when something turns out in another direction as expected. Without your help so many would be left in complete darkness.
Let's start with my conclusion first:
I need either a BIN file for my phone which can be installed using LGNPST, or
A ROM file which can be installed using TWRP from TeenyBin recovery without verification errors on zip or phone assertion, or
A third – and to me unknown – solution which brings me closer to an unbricked phone.
Phone facts:
LG-E975, S/N: 303KPUU181542
TWRP 2.5.0.0 installed together with LGNPST TeenyBin
From the fastboot screen
PRODUCT NAME mako
VARIANT mako 32GB
HW VERSION rev_11 (&¤)
BOOTLOADER VERSION MAKOZ10f
BASEBAND VERSION N/A
CARRIER INFO None
SERIAL NUMBER xxxxx
SIGNING production
SECURE BOOT Enabled
LOCK STATE UNLOCKED
LG KDZ file identified is: E97510D_00
Sequence of things so far
1) As all my previous Android phones I use CWM for backup and testing new ROM’s I installed this on my Optimus G and rooted the device. Also upgraded CWM recovery to latest version, (not touch though)
2) After that it was not possible to boot into recovery due to ‘some’ error – I therefore changed recovery to built-in TWRP. Boot to recovery now gave Secure Boot Error – certification
NOTE: I found somewhere that rooting is NOT enough you also have to unlock, (FreeGee?). Could someone please confirm or reject?
3) Now I turned to “[REPAIR] TeenyBin - Softbrick Quick Fix / Bootloader Unlock [E971, E973, E975, F180*]” using LGNPST and TeenyBin. Finally something happened – I could access the TWRP built in.
4) Then I used ADB to push ROM to the internal SDCARD and recovery to install. But this method failed – tried several ROMs which all gave errors initially. I discovered that the install script pointed at “e975” in(ro.product.device and ro.build.product but the phone reports “geehrc4g”
This is the output in recovery.log when trying to flash ROM
Warning: No file_contexts
script aborted: assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "e975" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e975"
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "e975" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e975"
Following the advice of changing the script by
a. Deleting the ‘assert’ line in the script, or
b. Changing the element to what the phone reports did not help
NOTE: I have seen someone claim that you should do this without unzipping first. I cannot see how this can be done. Please confirm if you have any knowledge on this. If unzip and zip causes the problem below – then what is the solution?
Changing the product device and build leads to this in recovery.log
E:Zip signature verification failed: 1
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/thinkingbridge.zip'
Updating partition details...
To ensure working environment I tried to flash gapps which worked perfectly so connection and recovery must be functional.
5) Now turning to: ”[GUIDE] How to UNBRICK your Optimus G - security error, bootloop etc”
I used the method described and downloaded the appropriate KDZ file etc. etc but flashing gives this log:
10:05:58 : Launching SW update

10:09:27 : FreeLibrary Call
10:09:27 : FreeLibrary Call End
10:09:27 : ResetStartInfo() Call End
10:09:29 : ===FINISHED===
At the point where KDZ file is extracted the phone reverts from download mode to recovery which is probably why it fails.
Looking in the forums these problems are rather common and the suggestions are multiple. I hope to be able to get this problem solved with the help from the community and if possible condense whatever the experience and conclusions must be in a guide to help others in this situation. Thanks very much in advance.
Better use KDZ updater for files smaller than 1gb.for bigger files use flashtool.
Also, have you tried emergency recovery from lg mobile tool?since you are on stock,it should work.

Hi Kimitza,
Thanks for your reply. I did discover the 1GB issue during my quest. Unfortunately I havn't found any smaller images in the KDZ format. Also afraid of getting an image incompatible which could end up finalizing the bricking of my phone
Regarding the stock thing I did try restoring using the LG Mobile Tool - but that also ended in an error where the tool asked me to disconnect the usb cable, restart the device and reconnect after the analysis. But I am unable to boot beyond fastboot and recovery.
I have a hunch that the TeenyBin could be the key to my issues. If - which I don't know - it has put "wrong" identity, (ro.product.device and ro.build.product), into "a" system file then changing this could be the way forward to use the recovery tool.
Do you think this is possible? And if do you know where the system keeps this information?
Cheers Klavs
it's in build.prop i think.
if your files are bigger, use flashtool.

Hi there,
I'm stuck currently on exactly the same problem.
Actually i had my LGOG perfectly working with some CM10.1 Nightly build and yesterday i upgraded to CM10.2 Nightly (i also had to remove the first line of install script of the *.zip file, but this worked for me perfectly well in the past).
The upgrade process itself also worked fine, but when i rebooted my device the first time today, it got stuck on the CM boot screen animation.
Also Flashing the kdz file produced for me the same output (also with flashtool).
Finally i flashed another TeenyBin (the file is named "LS970_Original_TeenyBin-AA.bin" - i downloaded it the first time i unlocked my phone and I actually can't tell you where it is from) and after that flashing the kdz File worked for me (or at least, now it is installing).
Hope this helps you!
Edit:
My phone is working again (on CM10.1.3-RC2).
My Steps:
1. flash "E971.E973.E975.F180_Original_TeenyBin-AA.bin" via LGNPST
2. Boot to recovery
3. Download the zip file of the rom
4. Remove the first line of the "updater-script"
5. push the zip via adb to /sdcard
6. install the zip via recovery
7. it worked
Flashing the kdz file ended in a stuck boot-logo...
Good luck
What's the command to push the zip to the device. I'm getting lost reading all the info online.

I've had the exact same problem... and I also don't know how to access Download Mode manually.
I found a way to go around the situation... and it was by flashing a Stock ROM zip file (and already Rooted!!)
It is a LG Stock ROM turned into a flashable zip file, which you can install via Recovery like any Custom ROM. It is Indian firmware version E97510e-IND-XX, but it has english language.
You can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407489
Go into Recovery, and flash the Stock ROM zip file, and the Keyboard-fix immediately after (or you be flooded with Force-Closes after reboot), also don't forget to wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik before rebooting to System, or you will be stuck with a bootloop situation.
When you get to your new LG Stock ROM system, you can either stay with this ROM (which is rooted and deodexed!), or you can change it!!
You will now be able to select "LG Software" on the USB connection type, and from there update to a newer firmware version via LG Mobile Support Tool, or to a firmware version of your choosing via KDZ Updater or Flash Tools... Flash Tools being the best method to choose, because it will not have KDZ extraction failures/issues.
See the link bellow for LG E975 firmware KDZ files...

Dear it is simple to go in download mode manually, at the fast boot screen do the following...
Connect mobile to pc
Select power off and as soon as your mobile screen go black
Quickly press both volume buttons+power button and pull the cable out, and connect again (while all buttons are pressed).... And voila! You are in download mode
PS. You need to put your phone in download mode if while flashing kdz your mobile gets restarted....

and crashes, my phone is a e975.

Can anyone help me??
Assuming that the flashing of the stock ROM zip file was successful, things should be working fine...
But If they are not...
1 - Try entering into your Custom Recovery, and wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik-cache and System. (but not the Boot partition)
- flash the ROM zip file again and flash the keyboard fix immediately after.
- Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik-cache again (but not the System nor the Boot partitions).
- Reboot! You should be fine.
If not... If you get stuck at boot due to Kernel issues...
2 - then go into your Custom Recovery, and flash a new Kernel, a suitable Kernel for LG E975 with 4.1.2 Jelly bean.
- after that wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik-cache (but not System nor Boot).
- and Reboot!

First of all thanks for reply so soon, i've instaled another kernel , and seems to be working, but i've no network signal. and still dont have way to enter download mode so i can go back to stock. any ideias how to get into download mode??
To enter Download Mode do the following :
- turn off your phone,
- press and hold both "volume down" and "volume up" buttons,
- while holding those buttons connect your phone to PC via USB. (phone should enter download mode)
But wait... haven't you flashed the Indian stock ROM?
Isn't it already working? If yes, then you are already on Stock 4.1.2! More precisely, the E97510e-IND-XX stock firmware. Confirm this!
This means, you are on stock firmware but with Custom Recovery and Custom Bootloader!
Now, you don't need "Download Mode"!
If you want to update the firmware of your LG E975, or if you also want to get back to stock Recovery and stock Bootloader, then...
- install E975 up-to-date drivers and "LG Mobile Support Tool" on your computer, and reboot.
- on your phone go to Settings > Connection > PC Connection and choose the "LG Software" connection type,
- then connect your phone to computer via USB.
- and run LG Mobile Support Tool to update!

Your right i'm with stock firmware but with a custom recovery and bootloader.
Follow all your instructions to use LG Mobile Support Tool, but when it goes to install update it says that the pnone is not connected ??!!??
Restarted the phone and pc same thing happened again.
This started after i tried to unbrick my phone using teenybin, since that time teenybin changed my recovery and bootloader, and i dont' know how to put stock recovery and bootloader if i can't go to download mode.
Thanks
Ok, but the bootloader is only there to boot the device either to Recovery or to Android, if you can get to Android operating system then the bootloader doesn't matter anymore. (at least until you reboot.)
Answer the following:
Do you have a Firewall or Anti-vírus or anti-"something" software that may be blocking the connection between your phone and the PC?
Have you installed the latest drivers for LG E975 from LG site?
When you connect your phone to the PC, is the phone properly recognized by the PC?
If you turn on "USB Debugging" on your phone can you get ADB connection?
Did your phone had "LG Software" option selected when you connected it to the LG Mobile Support Tool?
Did you use the original USB cable of your phone?
If the problem with the connection is related to the LG E975 drivers, you may want to try this...
- run LG Mobile Support Tool (without connecting your phone) and on the left you have an option to manual select and install the drivers of your phone.
- after that search your PC for a folder named "LGMOBILEAX" and erase it.
- reboot your PC.
- run LG Mobile Support Tool again and connect your phone (in "LG Software" mode) to PC and select the option to recover the phone, "Update Recovery".
If the problem with the connection is not related to the drivers, try this...
- Go to Google Play and install the "FreeGee" app on your phone.
- and run the app. (make sure you have Root and Busybox properly working before running FreeGee)
- on FreeGee select either CWM or TWRP. (but I recommend TWRP.)
{If all goes well, this will install the CWM / TWRP custom recovery and a proper bootloader to your phone (much more complete then TeenyBin bootloader.)}
- when FreeGee is done, turn off your phone.
- now try to enter into Download Mode...
To enter Download Mode do the following :
- turn off your phone, (if is not already)
- press and hold both "volume down" and "volume up" buttons,
- while holding those 2 buttons connect your phone to PC via USB. (please use the original USB cable)
Try at least 2 or 3 times to enter into Download Mode, since the procedure is tricky... It only takes one button not being pressed properly for the procedure to fail.
Hi, I've been trying to fix my H818N from the past couple of days.
Here is what I did to brick it, unfortunately
1. Downloaded Nougat 7.0 TOT file (H818P v29a TOT) from this website: androidsage lg g4 android 7 0 nougat firmware
2. Started my G4 into download mode and tried to load this TOT file using LG UP, however, LG UP stopped me by displaying an error message: Invalid TOT file
3. Then I used WinHex to change H818P to H818N in the TOT file and saved it
4. Now I was able to upload this file to my G4 in Refurbished mode using LG UP, the upload completed, phone rebooted and displayed: Erasing
5. After that it is stuck in download mode (If I restart it, it displays LG logo and starts download mode automatically)
6. In Download mode, my phone displays this at the bottom of screen:
U 633A s12. 0 AS10. 5 B100 UHS
S U LG-H818N 07.0 Hrev_10 .CPU4
H81529a
Here is what I did till now without any success:
1. installed the latest LG drivers, LG UP, and LG Flash tools on my PC
2. Tried to Flash the following firmwares using LG UP/ LG Flash Tool (I also extracted the dll file from each firmware one by one and placed in the model folder for LG UP while trying)
H815 V20o Modded.kdz
H818N10l_00_0113.kdz
H818N20f_00_0818.kdz
H818N20h_00_1019.kdz
H81520p_00_0403.kdz
H81820p_00_0314.kdz
Hong Kong H818N10b.kdz
H81520p_00_0314.kdz
H815TR20g_00_0428.kdz
F500K20C_00.kdz
All the firmwares get stuck at Internal command failed 9%, 11%, 24%
3) I have scoured the internet but wasn't able to find a solution yet
4) I even tried using the fastboot mode but unfortunately the bootloader is locked and I cannot erase the recovery or image
Now I'm not sure what else can be done to bring my phone back to life. I might try to get it into Qualcomm 9008 mode and try to unbrick it by following this guide: pakfones unbrick lg g4 hard bricked
Any help on this will be much appreciated

Hi friend,
No issues, even I faced the same problem. Now everything ok, just click this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/update-lg-g4-h818p-to-android-7-lg-h815-t3677485/page5
and go to that page, you may find the post by esco_448
Modified KDZ link to downgrade from nougat to Marshmallow
https://mega.nz/#!BKRnDLIZ!K46qoXNhW...XJDd9MhuNdb-WA
Also please use this dll with LGUP.
https://mega.nz/#!lShUlbgK!ZjNfIbPSv...ZDThw7HQ7ZZkKU
In addition edit the downloaded file, with winhex, then do the normal procedure as you do before, thats all.
Good luck

My H81520p marshmallow finally in bootloop. Need to secure important data so can not reset nor root, freezer did not work. Tried to disable big cores with the known guide (guy who takes $25 for app), he has only one tot for H815 M devices. I get the famous unsecure image error on 9%, is there a known solution to it?

1. Went to this known guide on youtube (can not post links) with the title "LG G4 - ILAPO (Infinite Loop Auto Power Off) FIX", downloaded the zip "lg G4 tool new" in descriptions with all the necessary files.
2. Run the LGUP and LGUP dll installer + install LGBridge.
3. Install UPPERCUT (though not needed probably) and update the LGUP8994.dll to version of 21/07/2017 in the lgup/model/8994 folder.
4. Connect LG G4 in download mode, run LGUP it shows port: CO version: H81520p progress: standby
5. mark upgrade and choose bin file LGH815AT-00-V20a-GLOBAL-COM-NOV-02-2015+00_RECOVERY_6.0.tot from the folder H815 Marshmallow
6. click start, in Step LGUP shows progress -> connection to usb then check dll then at 9% LGUP gives error: 0x2000, Secure device, But Unsecure image. Phone switches from download mode to bootloop.
Did not find any solution after checking many threads Read something about a guy trying to extract dll from the .kdz for my marshmallow version but dont know how to do and if it is known to solve the error.

maybe your dll is not the correct one. Try with this one and let me know if that works
getting same error
