[Q] LF: Rogers (CANADA) original ROM or nandroid backup. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi all,
So, because I am dumb as *****, I did not do a nandroid backup of the original ROM for my Rogers Galaxy Nexus.
I now have the well spread out USB port problem (any battery not charging beyond X % and falling....) and would like to bring it in for warranty replacement. However, I realized that I omitted the most important step when I first flashed my ROM to 4.1 (the push updates were taking too long for my taste) and now I'm stuck with a google build which I enjoy greatly but do not want to bring in to Rogers support.
1- Can anyone tell me exactly what build the "stock" Rogers G Nexus are at and is there anywhere to get it? (My HTC magic stock ROM was easily accessible and I can`t seem to find it for the GNexus... is it just the google build?)
2- If the stock ROM is not accessible, could anyone upload a nandroid backup of the stock rom?
I just don't want to bring it in for warranty replacement, get a new one and then get charged 400$ on my bill because tech support saw it wasn't the right ROM on it.... (I've read it happened to a guy on Verizon, don't want to take that risk.)
Please help... :crying:

Any luck on the stock? If not I'll try to upload mine. Lol its funny cause my problem is I have the yakju boot loader. I can't find rogers yakjuux. Did u go the yakju way?

Let me know if this works. I haven't tried to many drop box links but here is a yakjuux backup

There is at least one stock yakjuux ROM posted in the Dev section, and one posted in the General section. There may be more as well. It doesn't matter if it says Bell or Wind or Telus or whatever. All yakjuux ROMs are the same.
By the way, I have yet to hear of anyone returning a device with yakju or takju on it and getting denied warranty, however, I have heard of many people returning it with yakju or takju flashed, and still receiving warranty service.

Hey since your here. Do u know if primekk15 is yakjuux as well? I can't find a working tested primekk14 efrant

It came with ICL53F, which is ICS, but yakjuux used it for JB as well.

OK here is the question. (Yes) I'm asking before research. Can I not unpack a yakju firmware and swap my yakjuux stuff in the package. So I get format and no root etc. (Talking about Odin files)

What are you trying to do? Flash yakjuux to your device? I suppose what you're saying would work, but why not just restore one of the nandroid backups of yakjuux that i mentioned earlier? Much simpler.

Cause I can't get rid of cwm fully and updates say untrusted zip. They still install but I want to do it like yakju. It ota then updates perfectly.

The reason I want to do this is I don't remember if samsunng had any stuff on here and I want to see if there is any performance difference with using 100% the way the phone was shipped. (I love the S notepad) and I can't remember if it came with phone

Yes you can get rid of cwm. The JRO03C thread i replied in earlier has a full cwm backup of yakjuux. If you restore that using cwm, it will overwrite cwm with the yakjuux stock recovery. Then flash the kk15 bootloader and the radio from that thread.

I will try it. I DL a bunch of them and no luck. But can't remember if it was from that post. Thanks efrant. Checking it out

The answers to your two questions are no and no.
But you can do an ADB backup, copy that and your files to your PC, then wipe and install yakju JB.
Edit: more info in the basics and flash links in my signature.

Yeah I didn't do that yet. Can I use something like lookout backup to backup my apps and contacts and then restore them after?

1) Follow the guide here to back up your data.
2) Move all of your files in /sdcard off your device.

yes it is, but i was referring to the radio that comes with it and the 4.0.4 in the dev thread was the koodo base no? shouldn't this be the tmobile one? they're not all the same. but ehh.... tmobile base usually sucks anyways.
Yes you are right the baseband is new as well and it is UVLH1 the kernel version is 3.0.8 I guess I will give this a try for a week completly stock then back to good old AOKP. I just like trying the stock stuff. I gotta say I was very impresed with the first version of ICS that we got. I didnt even root it or anything till AOKP was official for the t989. I got super good battery life and everything was stable so lets see if this update holds up. Good job samsung.
Blech. Kies fail.

I found this firmware at sammobile.
Please find it by the link below.

I am not sure if I posted at the right place.
Just tell me if I posted wrong and I will remove it.
Enjoy...
I already got the uvlh1 system folder with the apps, libs, build prop, and etc and also the .tar. I took the radio and made a flashable zip of it its in the dev section. I tryed to upload it on dropbox but it said the file is too large. Which is the best file sharing site so i can upload the large files so i can post it here ? But i guess the devs already has it.

[Q] Installing generic firmware on AT&T branded S III

I have an AT&T branded/locked Samsung Galaxy S3. I am using Walmart's "Straight Talk" service with the phone. Most things work properly, but having all the custom AT&T software running creates problems as the phone is not authorized to use any of that bundled AT&T software. As a result I usually get annoyed anytime the AT&T Navigator pops up, or have to re-do APN settings when AT&T's software updater daemon finds new AT&T firmware available and upgrades the phone over-writing any current network settings. I am also locked out of several other features that AT&T considers "premium" such as "mobile hot-spot". In the past on other phones I have been able to enable this feature but with the AT&T S-3 it queries the AT&T server to check permissions and naturally denies me.
I would like to remove all AT&T software and branding from the phone. Is there some kind of generic, non-branded firmware with all of the phone's functionality enabled and unrestricted that I may install? If so, where can I find the image as well as instructions on how to do the flash successfully? It will not be my first time flashing an Android phone so I do not need my hand held; I just haven't been able to find clear information on how to perform the function nor where to find the firmware for this phone.
The phone is an SGH-I747.
Thanks in advance!
Brandon
Easiest way:
Root, install TiBu, and freeze away all AT&T apps.
Flash the newest ROM. Its called LL1. It was released in December and it is free of all carrier bloat so it is completely stock touchwiz. I think there is a flashable version of in the android development section. Or if you don't want root you could get the Odin version.

Where can I download this directly as it doesn't seem to be on the forums.
Is this what Google/Samsung would give to the carriers for them to add their bloatware?
...or is this something compiled from source code.

Just download factory image for your device from google site if you want to back to stock or maybe you want to try custom rom from cyanogenmod and aokp. They are the famoust cusrom with great feature and stability.
I would recommend paranoid android along with trinity kernel and twrp recovery
If you need to know what to do, there are plenty of resources and youtube videos to guide you,

Follow the sticky on flashing a factory build onto your device. Try stock for a while. You won't have problems like this and you won't have to use the search button.

Android 4.1.2 Question

So I have been really wanting to run MIUI but but I'm on 4.2.2. I would greatly appreciate if someone could educate me on downgrading to 4.1.2 but with the ability to go back to 4.2.2 with no problem. Thanks in advance.

What are you running now? Stock? Are you unlocked and have a custom recovery? If so, just make a backup of your current Rom, give MIUI a shot, and if you don't like it, restore your backup.
If you are still on stock, you need to unlock and install a custom recovery. This will delete what you have on your phone, so backup any pictures, texts, etc. There is a guide in the forum. I'll paste it in another post.
Good luck.
Am I missing anything guys?
