Hey there...
I read trough the forum but havn't found anything that matches this topic... so i hope u can help me.
I just wanted to know how to turn an ARC/S rom into a PRO rom.
When i look at some multi-device roms, the differences between the devices are very small...
And i already managed to get an ACR/S rom boot and some kind of working on the Pro...
only thing doesn't work: the keyboard and the touchscreen (touch is working but not properly).
so: how do i make an almost "clean" port from an ARC/S Rom to my Pro?
PS: i hope my english is good enough to understand my problem xD
how to port a rom
Thank you... but that was not, what i wanted...
I know how to port roms...
i just wanted to know which files (modules etc) i have to copy/replace to make a pro rom out of an arc rom...
there must be a way, cause many roms are build for arc/s and then just some files are added so it becomes a pro rom...
The way you showed me means, that i already have a base rom which is working. But i want to use the arc rom itself.
thank you...

Then you should know which files you need, as you don't, perhaps some more reading of what's already available will help.
i already had some success.
but there is one thing, that is getting on my nerves... even if almost everything seems to work two things dont...
the mms.apk is crashing every time i try to launch it and the hardware keyboard isn't recognized correct.
means the SW-keyboard doesnt pop up because the system always thinks, the keyboard is out but is rotating the sreen correctly as i move the phone.
the problem with the keyboard is already known from the Slim Bean 3.10 Pro Rom. and i dont know where to find the correct things to change that.

Hi all,
I am really interested to use, if there is a ROM based on Xperia Arc.
So far, I have tried to get some apks to work on Oxygen, an existing AOSP ROM.
ArcXygen
I have just found the latest dump file of Xperia Arc. Here
I know that I am really incapable to port those stuff over. I have no knowledge about Linux and only know very very limited C language - I can just barely able to work well with pointers.
But I will want to give it a try, if it's not too hard.
I know copy everything from the dump and flash it through will surely won't work. What is the cause of this usually? (incompatible library?) As far as I see, Arc ROM seems quite Vanilla though.
And I will really be glad if there is a developer who finds this idea interesting (an Arc ROM - not another stock Sense ROM!!)and takes over to do it. It will surely be 6,000 times faster than what I can do.
Any help/comment/advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello, I'm trying to port Xperia x10 mini rom to Wildfire. I've tryied to port this rom before but I had problem with rebooting after a while, I hope I've fixed it but for now, my Wildfire is on reclamation (broken speaker, not bricked phone ) so I'm not able to try it.
I've choosed this rom for porting http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504633 and CM 7.2 RC1 as a base.
Please try it and give me know if it worked, or make a logcat. Thanks
Every help with porting will be welcome.
EDIT: Someone told me that rom doesn't even install, I've fixed that but its still rebooting after boot (he said) and he is not able to make a logcat, I'm uploading it now, so please, someone make a logcat

Why don't you post this on the development section? You'll actually get many more replies than here
Yes I know, but I don't want to mess dev section with rom which is - for now - completely useless and I even don't know if it will be fully functional in future.

Everyone's list of necessary features is different, so "fully working" means different things to everyone. For example, I rarely use my camera, but for some that's a deal breaker. The only way to answer your question is to try them. There are lists of bugs in the OPs of ROM threads in the development forum, along with a sticky index of all of the ROMs.

Flash a gb rom and wait for the ics roms to be fully functional.
Sent from a dream.
There are few Roms close ot "FULLY WORKING", but still all of them have problems with at least one main feature. Try again in a month

I have checked almost all the ICS ROM and i liked the Sabsa Prime v4.1 | 4.0.3 | Sense 4a.
But there is a camera issue problem but i fixed that yesterday. and now the ROM is perfect to me.
Why Not Give it a Try to all the ROM with sense 4 and which ever you feel the best then go for it. everyone has different opinion

why didnt you originally state you wanted to advertise Sabsa, far too many alledged help posts are aimed at advertising particular roms. not really cricket is it ??????
Iv'e been running Blackout ISC Incredible v.3.1.0 for a few days. but it's Sence 3.6
I've been running sabsa since 3.0 version, it's the fastest and most stable rom that I've tried running on ICS, I suggest you to try it. Do a nandroid backup so eventually you can easily go back to gb.

Most ICS ROMs I've seen are already 100%
Sent from my inter galactic super fantastic communication device.
useless thread,
if there is such rom everyone would be using it but then again people have different taste and some roms are better for others. You just have to look around and find out which one works best for you.
So I have noticed a lot of threads here share the GEE/GEEB label and we work closely with other versions of the Optimus G.
What I wanna know is if this ROM is safe to use on our phones, and if not, how can I sorta port it to work. This is one of the few ROMs I like more than mahdi or CM, and wanna try for a bit. (maybe add to the multi boot list?)
Please help! Thank you in advance!

[ROM][MIUI][4.4.4] - Miui v5 Multilanguage [08/04/14]
Hi everyone,
i have a xperia z1 compact phone and i'm a newbie in the world of custom rom, kernels, ecc..
A few days ago i flashed a new custom rom and the phone is working pretty well, but i have a question here..
Can i use a stock firmware (let's say original lollipop 5.1) with just a new kernel?
I was thinking about not installing a completely new rom but just a new kernel and the xposed installer to change something on this phone, is that possible?
If android releases a new version of android and i upgrade my version, do i have to reinstall the kernel? And some apps from sony's firmware are quite useless (at least for me), could i delete them just like a new rom? (ofc with root)
I just want a stock firmware with a new kernel that can use less battery possibly.. I don't need overclocking or stuff like that, just battery life i would say..
Sorry my bad english though and thank you all for your attention!

There are at least a couple of custom kernel options in this forum. Check ' development' and 'original development' threads. You can usually tell if they work for stock if they have either 'stock' or a build number, (e.g. 368), in the thread title. Otherwise they may be CM based, and won't work.

Android 5.1 on this phone is .368.
5.0 is .270 or .242
The others are KitKat, (either 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, or 4.4).
For the first - as always - be 120% sure that kernel you want to install is compatible with remaining system parts.
Base thing - stock to stock, non-stock to non-stock, but it is not everything.
Changes between versions them may be too big to play together.
You don't put any tires to any car. You need to know that dimensions fit.
Same here.
