I have been running cleanrom ace 4.6.1 for a few days now with no problem. I flashed the latest saber kernal today and now I am noticing in my Gsam battery stats that my phone radio is basically on all the time and using up battery.
I am sorry I can't give you any facts about how much battery since I just noticed it but I don't see any reason why this would be on. I haven't made any adjustments to the cpu speed or voltage or anything in regards to the new kernal.
I have searched the internet and come up empty handed. I don't recall my phone radio being on most of the time before and I have good signal.
Thanks for any help
Hey go down one to clean rom ace 4.5 and flash the kernel and battery life is amazing even with a little over clocking mine lasts 2days and is at 10% on the second day with pretty heavy use so yea give it a try and I have no radio problems

10% at the end of the second day.

okay, thanks for the reply. I might just do that after screwing around with the new kernel I flashed earlier today. I am trying a few things out.
I have to do some research to figure out what file I need that would be the kernel file. I haven't attempted to look it up yet, but I will.

Why should one flash a custom kernel? I understand if you want to overclock your phone for what ever reason but if you want to improve battery life why would you flash a custom kernel? HTC's last two kernels, #17 and #15, have given me great battery life; I had ~15hrs with 20% yesterday. And I'm not sure if it was some blunder the other day but it seemed #15 lessened the battery drop after having charged the phone overnight if not having cured it completely, I'll have to test it later.
Right now I'm using netarchy 4.2.2 CFS nohavs and 9 hrs on 16% used and will see how it goes for next day or so.
You get 15 hours?
Can you post a screen shot of your battery usage?

I'll post it tomorrow, but I was studying all day and had unplugged the phone the night prior to it.

15 hours doesn't really mean anything. I hope you understand that. If not, I can explain to the deficient.
Is #15 the newest kernal and if so may i have the link to get thank you

Hi All
I have been using HTC wildfire for almost 2 years now but for past 6 months battery has started having issues.
I was told by my friend that Froyo has had battery issues and to root my phone and install GB on it.
After rooting and install GB Galaxy Nexus by JM (ICS STYLE MOD) , my performance much better but the battery has gotten worse. It does not charge over 67% ( left it on charging over night/phone turned off)
Even with 67% charge, it drops down to 40% after 4 to 5 text messages in 10 minutes and it drops to 20 if take a call for 7 to 10 minutes. If I dare to download a app or leave my mobile data on it goes down to 10% in 20 to 30 mins.
I read on other forums that if the phone is running older version of recovery it could cause battery issues but my phone is running recovery version 4
I also read that a few say that they had to change the motherboard to fix the battery issues.
I have tried:
Juice Defender
batter saver
Super aTool Box-cache battery
Battery Dr saver+a task killer
I have stopped using apps on my phone. I only use my phone call and text but I still need to charge it 10 times a day.
I cleared the battery cache in recovery but no change in fault.
please help!!!
Is there a known issue with the phone that I'm not aware off.Any thing else that I can try before replacing motherboard or battery.
Thanks in advance
As you said- your battery is 2 years old, so i think that you could buy new one my battery is also very old (i have my WF for 2 years) and also have problems with battery ): even new custom roms didn't help. Only way i think is to buy new battery
It's your battery, I would go on ebay and find a good quality battery for your phone, a OEM or even an extended battery would be good. Battery's last a long time but after daily use for 2 years it wears them out. Hope this helps

Try to install Gsam Battery Monitor and see in the menu "App Usage" if there is an app that is draining the battery.
i had the same problem, and bought a new extended battery, and nothing has changed....after 12+ hours charging it never goes over 80%, and in about 6h-7h of minimum use is under 10%...does anyone know how to fix this?
Somebody posted months ago that they had taken there's back to HTC who said it was a fault on the motherboard, they replaced the board I think and his problem was fixed.

I had the same problem. It's mostly a motherboard problem. Changing the motherboard will fix it according to HTC guys.

Well that's revealing thanx for the important info
Just wanted to post some feedback. Im pretty new to joining this community and I want to say Thanks to all the developers for giving me and all of us so many options to choose from.
Just wanted to post a quick note. I recently have been playing around with different mods and currently as of 2 days ago I am using the following on my Canadian Galaxy S3 i747;
Wanamlite with faux kernal located here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785466"
I did the following,
Installed the Rom
Added removed samsung and att apps patch
(I did all this with wiping)
Following that I installed the kernal (above) booted and rebooted a second time.
Charged the battery full and Calibrated
I installed the kernal and calibrated the battery yesterday at 6PM from 6PM full charge until today at 11:00am I still have 47 percent battery life and I have been using it like I normally do. I have also ran 2 benchmark tests on the current charge. I have doctor web full version on constant monitor alarm and wifi going.
The Rom with this kernal is very snappy and very buttery and offers all the stock features. The battery is unreal. Iv never had a phone last this long and I have used everything on the market I work for a Bell Dealer so its like christmas for me everytime a new phone comes out.
Thanks again! Highley recommend this combo for anyone who wants the stock look and feel with more battery and more power!
+1 been using that same combo for a while and found it hard to beat. Although just trying out ktoonsez kernel and its equally impressive.

You know that there is no need for calibration for the batteries in our phone...we have a chip that does it. Its a wasted step. Also, the batteries that are in our phones also don't have memory either. Just don't deplete them and you're good to go.
I do agree that both kernels are awesome...I'm running Ariel w/kt747 UV and oc.

Hi guys. Thursday last week I got a Note II, wonderful device. I see people stating that it eats 1% battery in 10-15 minutes, but for me, it eats 1% in 1-3 minutes, when in use. I am running MonxIfied Sent and RedPill 0.10 kernel with stock speed. It consumes very little battery when sleeping, but it is in use that is the problem. I will add some pics of battery usage. What's wrong?

To be honest it seems quite normal. Keep in mind it's a big screen plus if you have mobile data or wifi on then the phone is likely to be doing stuff in the background when the device is awake.
What does the partial wakelocks in better battery stats look like?
EDIT: Eh, never mind, if it consumes very little battery when sleeping it's probably not a wakelock...
There's a pretty steep drop there in the third screenshot, looks strange. Wonder what happened there!

The OP is asking about battery drain when the screen is ON.
Partial wakelocks should be of no concern really, unless his battery was draining fast when screen is off.
EDIT: Haha, just saw you realised

Wifi seems to go off at the point, so possibly phone searching for a mobile data connection?
That's a wild guess though
Yeah these are the problems ive been getting..returning my phone with warranty if they give me a new battery or something..but i get average battery life on screen stand by sucks alot.

From the other thread, your problems do sound a bit different mate
I'm having a little theory. I have also had an iPhone 4, which also had high battery drain. Could the problem be my wifi/router?

Interesting theory. Can't say I know for sure but I guess it's plausable if it has poor signal or drops out often.
Have you tired chaning the channel on it? I do that for my Xbox 360 sometimes if signal is crap.
You could also try flashing a different modem on your Note 2 to see if that improves things. I remember on my old HTC Hero and Desire HD changing the radio (modem) could often improve wifi / mobile data reception and as a result improve battery consumption.
Again, I'm not expert on this so just guessing!
72% with one hour screen on
13% drop when you used recovery
=> after 1 hour screen on 85 percent
=> after 6 hours screen on, 10% battery
=> your phone doesn't have a problem

I was going to try Wanam today actually. Been on Omega since v6.0 and fancy a change
Hey guys, I know this is my first post (waves) but I have been reading the forum for a while.
I am having some issues with the battery life on my phone with PAC-MAN rom. I read and searched some fixes but I can't get the problem resolved. I was going to post in the rom's thread but since I have fewer than 10 posts it won't let me post in development threads.
I am using TWRP 2.4.4 (Now 2.5)
I made a few NAND backups of the pacman rom. Now when I was using Carbon I was getting about 2 days with regular usage (My patterns haven't changed). I listen to music for about (Tunein) 2-3 hours during a day. Games about 2 hours max. The rest of the time it's either flip-board or just what'sapp. But my habits have been consistent throughout.
On Pacman I was barley getting a single day worth of usage. I tried changing the cpu settings to compensate (profile) but it did not help me.
I tried to re-flash pacman from the NAND backup and that didn't help.
I was just looking for some advice on what I can possibly do to try to fix the issue or if anyone else has the same rom, if they can post how much time they are with their batteries.
Thanks for the help!
Get better battery stats. There is a free version for us xda people. Run it and let it gather stats. Then post the log in the main better battery thread or over here.
