I recently rooted my DINC (follwoing instrucstions over on androidforums), and then installed Touch Of Blue 3.0.
Before rooting, when I tapped on the HTC Clock widget, I was then able to set alarms, timers, etc.
After rooting and TOB 3.0, I still have the Clock widget, but nothing happens when I tap on the clock - I can't get to any alarm, timer, anything.
I noticed TOB had been updated since I installed it, so I installed the newer version, but still no alarm clock.
Did some reading on the forum and found out that maybe the widget doesn't work anymore (?). So I installed Fancy Widget, which looks like the regular HTC clock widget. I have Fancy Widget configured to launch the alarm when I touch on the time. But still, when I touch it, nothing happens - no alarm function is brought up. If I configure Fancy Widget to do other things when I touch on the time, those other things properly happen.
So, I am wondering if I lost the alarm function on this phone?
And if so, how do I get it back, because I really like that alarm widget. Because I couldn't get that alarm clock to display, I installed a different alarm app, but I like the widget much better, and would prefer to have that back.
Any suggestions?
Here's the kicker, though. I had also rooted another DINC, and installed TOB 2.2, and now the updated TOB 3.0. On that phone, the widget works fine and brings up the alarm/timer/etc just fine.
I wonder how I lost it on one DINC but not on the other. Either way, how do I get it back?

It does work on 3.0? It shouldnt, because i unknownly removed it by removing the worldclock.apk. Tob2.2 still has the worldclock.apk so it should work on it. I assume on the phone not working you did a clean flash of 3.0, and on the other a flash over of 2.2 with 3.0 without a wipe. Since there was no wipe, worldclock.apk carried over to 3.0.
It wouldnt work on mine either but i dont use the alarm so i never noticed, and no one else has ever mentioned it. Once i put the worldclock.apk back in /system/app, it started working fine again.
To fix it flash this thru recovery. http://dinc.does-it.net/Mods/World_Clock.zip

Thanks! That worked like a charm and was easy.
Yes, the phone that went directly to TOB3.0 after rooting was the one without the world_clock.
The phone that went to TOB2.2 after rooting, and then added 3.0 still had the world_clock, and yes, I just flashed 3.0 over 2.2 without clearing all the mounts and stuff.
Now... Any idea why the DINC that went from TOB2.2 to TOB3.0 has trouble with Google Locaiton services (it sporatically works, and does not work for the clock widget), while the DINC that went right to TOB3.0 as well as the other 2 DINC 2's in the house do not have any problems with Google Location services? The problem with the location services has been since rooting. The locaiton in the clock widget has not worked since then, and Maps rarely gets the current location either.

Hello All,
Just got my Incredible Rooted after some initial troubles. I removed CityID, Footprints, and Peep during the adb shell.
Now my GPS is constantly on when the phone is on. The Icon is always there in the notification bar.
Anybody have any idea why this is? or how to stop it? Its killin my battery. THANKS!
Got it!
Beautiful Widgets was causing the GPS usage. Went away the second I uninstalled it. I am reinstalling now and I doubt it will come back.
Sorry for wasting a thread. Hope this helps any other users.
Mine was doing that too. I dropped the Beautiful Live Wallpaper I was using and rebooted the phone, then the GPS stopped coming on and it seems to be fine now. I still have Beautiful Widgets installed, and never uninstalled it either.
mine seems to stay on. no widgets or anything.

Tell me if you still have the Google navigation icon.
I don't know if this would work, since I still have not rooted myself (just got back from LA and am setting up a proper dev environment for some real programming first... hopefully =p). But there are several widgets (one in sense, one in base Android I believe) that allow you to switch GPS/wifi/3G data/etc with a click of a button. The android-base widget is called "Power Control" and the HTC buttons can be selected by going to Widgets => Settings, then dragging and dropping which ones you want to use.
I hope the solution can be this easy (although it seems to rarely be, heh).
Ok I was removing Sprint apps with Titanium Backup. Got rid of the following:
Nascar
Peep
Flickr
Qik
Sprint Navi
Later in the day as I rebooted the phone, I lost the htc lock screen and now have the stock froyo lock screen.
Honestly I'm happy with the stock lock screen but, my alarm doesn't function properly (found out the hard way) have to shut the phone off and back on to turn off the damn alarm when it went off this morning lol.
So 2 questions.
1) Why did I lose the htc lockscreen? Which of those apps caused it?
2) Where can I find the stock froyo clock apk? So I can have a functioning alarm.
Thanks!

Noce of those apps control it..My guess is you accidently deleted the htclockscreen.apk in /system/?
I assume its not there anymore?
Not sure what you removed to lose the HTC lock screen, but here is the clock you need.
Hey there,
I'm having some rather odd clock issues with my phone. The time is "right" but not really. I use LauncherPro and WidgetLocker. I've never had any issues with these. However, WidgetLocker has its own clock widget. It works fine half the time. The other half of the time it is one hour behind my phone time. But that's not always right either.
For example, it's 9:30PM. The widget time will say 8:30PM. A few minutes pass, and the widget time is at least an hour behind sometimes a few minutes. The system bar shows 9:30PM as well, but then once I open the keyboard or rotate the phone, it will update to the current time, let's just say something like 9:37PM.
Both the apps listed are up to date, and I'm running CM 7.2.0 RC1.
Phone is rooted, I removed a few included APKs when I flashed the ROM. Is there a certain preinstalled APK that might have been affected by my removing it that updates the time, or does anyone know a fix?
Thanks!
I just put RobotoMod-Xena 1.0.1 on my phone last night, but didn't completely finish ironing out all the glitches on the install before I needed to hit the sack. I use my phone as my alarm clock, and managed to figure out how to set it while I was darned near already asleep.
So, this morning at the bright-n-early time of 5:15 AM, the alarm goes off. I'm used to the Sense desk clock that pops up a window when the alarm sounds asking if you want to deactivate it, or snooze it. That window wasn't there, and I couldn't get the alarm to shut off (which really pissed off my wife ). I finally had to power down the phone to get it quiet.
I don't know if this is a CM9 or RobotoMod thing, but how in the world do you deactivate a sounding alarm? Or should I find an actual Alarm clock app and use it instead? I'd rather not, since it defeats the purpose of having it built into the phone in the first place (IMHO).
u said u used the Sense desk clock , mean not the origin cm9 clock ?
No, I meant that I was used to the sense clock that was on the stock ROM before I loaded RobotoMod/CM9. It's the CM9 clock I'm having troubles with (I think) - I don't know if the RobotoMod devs changed that or not. I'm still trying to figure out where everything is in the code so I can find it for myself, but I'm not having much luck.

robotoMod rom's clock work fine on me , did you try to reflash the rom?
Yeah, it's on the third try right now. One complete wipe and reflash, and one reflash without wiping. The clock works fine - its the alarm that I can't turn off once it goes off.
hmmm....that's odd. I'm just sitting here at the desk and decided to test this again. The phone is not plugged in, and I used the 2nd alarm slot (default Sat. and Sun. alarm). A "snooze or dismiss" window pops up, and worked. The volume buttons were set to dismiss, and that worked. I just changed them to snooze, and it worked.
I'm going to go back to the first alarm slot and verify it works there, then I'm going to attach the charger to it and make sure it works before my wife gets really, really, realllllly annoyed with me on Tuesday :fingers-crossed:

Many times when I reboot the alarm icon on the notificaiton bar would go away. I would manually get into the alarm program and get back out to trigger it back on. Is it just me or does that happen to you guys as well?
Thanks,

This happens to me as well on my Sprint Note 2 running rooted stock LK8. I first noticed it when I was running ADW EX launcher over TouchWiz. Are you running the stock launcher? The "problem" seemed to go away when I uninstalled ADW EX and went back to TouchWiz. I use my phone as my daily alarm clock, so I couldn't risk my alarm not going off. It would've been nice to see if the alarm would still activate and the alarm clock icon was just a cosmetic glitch. With previous phones I would typically use a status bar hack to remove the alarm icon from the status bar anyway to get rid of the clutter, but I need to know if the alarm still works before I stop caring about the icon displaying.
I'm a little surprised more people haven't encountered this.
Lol, thanks brother for trying to help. The issue started on fully stock t-mobile rooted. Even when I updated to 4.1.2 stock rooted the problem persisted. For some reason, now it keeps its icon and I didn't really try to fix the problem. So I'm good now.\
But yeah I hear ya. I absolutely don't want to be late for work. It does seem to be a visual issue though since the alarm would work even without that icon. But there was this one time when I actually was late for work because it didn't work so I got super paranoid.
PS - This is why I am using circle alarm because it gives me a peace of mind with it's notification under the notification bar at all times. (not the most feature rich but that alone was worth it for me to use it)
I've always used PalmarySoft Alarms and it's always displayed in the notification bar, but I think it's using the Android alarm system to do it rather than its own code. I'm trying Nova Launcher now and it does the same thing as ADW EX. Since it's the weekend in going to see if my alarm works even if the icon isn't there. If the alarm works I'm just going to move on and consider it a cosmetic glitch.
If nothing else you've been a confirmation of sanity for me. I can't find anyone else who is having or has noticed this problem on the Note 2.
