Ok I was removing Sprint apps with Titanium Backup. Got rid of the following:
Nascar
Peep
Flickr
Qik
Sprint Navi
Later in the day as I rebooted the phone, I lost the htc lock screen and now have the stock froyo lock screen.
Honestly I'm happy with the stock lock screen but, my alarm doesn't function properly (found out the hard way) have to shut the phone off and back on to turn off the damn alarm when it went off this morning lol.
So 2 questions.
1) Why did I lose the htc lockscreen? Which of those apps caused it?
2) Where can I find the stock froyo clock apk? So I can have a functioning alarm.
Thanks!

Noce of those apps control it..My guess is you accidently deleted the htclockscreen.apk in /system/?
I assume its not there anymore?
Not sure what you removed to lose the HTC lock screen, but here is the clock you need.

Hello all,
My phone is not working properly. I've had some bugs most people seem to be having, but now I have something which is quite annoying. I can't find it on these forums or anywhere on the internet.
I have seen a 1 line reference to my problem here:
/showthread.php?t=666332&highlight=standby
Flaws & annoyances with the HTC Desire (with workarounds!) [updated Apr 23, 2010
Hardware defects. Eg. Dust under screen, device not going into standby properly. Most of us don't experience these. Contact your retailer to exchange the unit or HTC to claim warranty.
So, I seem to have this problem. The phone wakes up with whatever button I press, and I don't have to unlock the phone. I have a unlock pattern set. It also doesn't ask me for this.
I couldn't find a proper topic about this problem, but I assume I'm not the only one. Is there a fix, or is it a hardware problem?
It wouldn't make sense to me if it's a hardware problem since the screen does turn off when I press the 'power' button.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bart.
Which Lock?
are you using the built in lock or a third party lock app? I had the same problem when I used LockBot. If it's the standard lock, have you tried Powering the phone off then back on?
I am just using the built in application. I haven't used any other lock app.
I have tried turning the phone off twice, and both times it came back (might have been after charging it, but I don't know at all if that's the reason).
edit: I'm gonna try to recreate the problem with restarting and trying to find out when it stops working properly.
edit2: I restarted now... and it hadn't saved the new background I set... strange... :/
edit3: Ok, it still locks itself... I guess I'll just need to wait and see when it doesn't work anymore... maybe it's just a matter of time for it to stop working...
The problem that you quote in your opening post is probably the problem concerning the Desire (or rather an application running on the Desire) not properly releasing a wake lock which causes severe battery drain, e.g. the calendar app about which another thread exists.
Your problem seems to be quite strange. You do not happen to have an application called 'No lock' installed, right?
No, I don't have 'No lock' installed.
I use 2 calander widgets though... (the little one on my home screen, and an more advanced one on another screen.)
I've got quite some applications installed though... I'll just type them here, maybe someone can see something wrong...

I'll use it tonight again, going to sleep soon... Maybe it'll be broken again tomorow.
Lets hope it wont brake again... but that's probably too optimistic.
First off: sorry for the double post, but I have some new information which will also mean the end of this topic.
This morning it didn't work anymore, and the only application that did it's thing this night was the kaloer clock (night clock).
I looked at the settings, and there are some settings about screen lock.
It's not clear at all, but I changed some settings, and it locks again.
So, I guess it was just me using an app which I didn't fully understand. I'm glad you guys helped me though. And I'm definitely glad that my problem is solved!
Hello All,
Just got my Incredible Rooted after some initial troubles. I removed CityID, Footprints, and Peep during the adb shell.
Now my GPS is constantly on when the phone is on. The Icon is always there in the notification bar.
Anybody have any idea why this is? or how to stop it? Its killin my battery. THANKS!
Got it!
Beautiful Widgets was causing the GPS usage. Went away the second I uninstalled it. I am reinstalling now and I doubt it will come back.
Sorry for wasting a thread. Hope this helps any other users.
Mine was doing that too. I dropped the Beautiful Live Wallpaper I was using and rebooted the phone, then the GPS stopped coming on and it seems to be fine now. I still have Beautiful Widgets installed, and never uninstalled it either.
mine seems to stay on. no widgets or anything.

Tell me if you still have the Google navigation icon.
I don't know if this would work, since I still have not rooted myself (just got back from LA and am setting up a proper dev environment for some real programming first... hopefully =p). But there are several widgets (one in sense, one in base Android I believe) that allow you to switch GPS/wifi/3G data/etc with a click of a button. The android-base widget is called "Power Control" and the HTC buttons can be selected by going to Widgets => Settings, then dragging and dropping which ones you want to use.
I hope the solution can be this easy (although it seems to rarely be, heh).
Hi guys,
Hopefully this is a known problem - I have the stock clock/weather widget on my main screen, but if I leave my phone for a while (say 10 mins) and go back in, the time widget will be stuck on the time previous to when I locked it and then change to the current time after 2 secs or so. I cant remember having this before, as I've had the desire for a week or so. I factory reset yesterday after a apps2sd fix messed with my widgets and its still doing it.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
Well mine does the same and always did. It's probably because it is not running when the phone is on standby
Cool thanks for that, its no biggy really, I just wasn't sure if it would mess with my alarm or anything.
Always done this for me on all version of Android...doesn't bother me tbh
On Sense versions with the flip clock it'll always default 1hr and 1min back so it can show the 'flip' each time you unlock the screen...
And yes alarm should be working fine
Thats good enough for me, thanks guys.
Two days in a row my alarm on my VZW GNex has not woken me up for work. When I look at my phone it says "Clock has stopped Responding."
This is kind of a big deal and rather a large annoyance, because well lets face it, I cannot be late for work everyday, and I use my phone for my alarm.
My trusty old DInc never had a problem setting off the alarm.
Any ideas or thoughts? Anyone else have this problem on their Verizon Galaxy Nexus? Oh and also, my GNex is unlocked and rooted, but on the stock Rom. I want to wait for CM9 to put a Rom on this phone.
No one has any ideas? my alarm worked this morning. but i feel like this would be a random occurrence, and i want to figure out how to make it never happen again.
hell my alarm isn't going off at all figure that one out and i have 3 of them set and yes they are enabled it shows me the next alarm time and is correct
Try going to settings > apps > clock and clearing data/cache.. all I can think of
Or you both might try an alarm app from the market if that doesn't work
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Got the same problem.
When I enter to Clock application, switch do Alarm tab and tried to set any alarm, application hung up with ANR message.
Also I figured out, when I entered Settings -> Sounds -> Volumes, it's freezes same way.
Clearing data & cache for Clock application only not fixed problem, I managed, it's Media storage problem (both apps - Clock and Sounds - requires access to media storage to choose ringtone ?) - so I cleared it's data too.
Rebooted phone and voi'la. Clock are now working again. (But all alarms are gone, but that's no tragedy)
Hope this helps
I recently rooted my DINC (follwoing instrucstions over on androidforums), and then installed Touch Of Blue 3.0.
Before rooting, when I tapped on the HTC Clock widget, I was then able to set alarms, timers, etc.
After rooting and TOB 3.0, I still have the Clock widget, but nothing happens when I tap on the clock - I can't get to any alarm, timer, anything.
I noticed TOB had been updated since I installed it, so I installed the newer version, but still no alarm clock.
Did some reading on the forum and found out that maybe the widget doesn't work anymore (?). So I installed Fancy Widget, which looks like the regular HTC clock widget. I have Fancy Widget configured to launch the alarm when I touch on the time. But still, when I touch it, nothing happens - no alarm function is brought up. If I configure Fancy Widget to do other things when I touch on the time, those other things properly happen.
So, I am wondering if I lost the alarm function on this phone?
And if so, how do I get it back, because I really like that alarm widget. Because I couldn't get that alarm clock to display, I installed a different alarm app, but I like the widget much better, and would prefer to have that back.
Any suggestions?
Here's the kicker, though. I had also rooted another DINC, and installed TOB 2.2, and now the updated TOB 3.0. On that phone, the widget works fine and brings up the alarm/timer/etc just fine.
I wonder how I lost it on one DINC but not on the other. Either way, how do I get it back?

It does work on 3.0? It shouldnt, because i unknownly removed it by removing the worldclock.apk. Tob2.2 still has the worldclock.apk so it should work on it. I assume on the phone not working you did a clean flash of 3.0, and on the other a flash over of 2.2 with 3.0 without a wipe. Since there was no wipe, worldclock.apk carried over to 3.0.
It wouldnt work on mine either but i dont use the alarm so i never noticed, and no one else has ever mentioned it. Once i put the worldclock.apk back in /system/app, it started working fine again.
To fix it flash this thru recovery. http://dinc.does-it.net/Mods/World_Clock.zip

Thanks! That worked like a charm and was easy.
Yes, the phone that went directly to TOB3.0 after rooting was the one without the world_clock.
The phone that went to TOB2.2 after rooting, and then added 3.0 still had the world_clock, and yes, I just flashed 3.0 over 2.2 without clearing all the mounts and stuff.
Now... Any idea why the DINC that went from TOB2.2 to TOB3.0 has trouble with Google Locaiton services (it sporatically works, and does not work for the clock widget), while the DINC that went right to TOB3.0 as well as the other 2 DINC 2's in the house do not have any problems with Google Location services? The problem with the location services has been since rooting. The locaiton in the clock widget has not worked since then, and Maps rarely gets the current location either.
