[Q] AOSP - Stock Android look Rom? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, i was wondering which Sony-based ROM has the best AOSP / Stock Android Nexus look and feel, besides Cyanogen-based Roms (CM, AOKP, etc). I am using my phone's camera everyday so I really need stock-based Rom so I can use Cyber-Shot Mod application.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Why dont you just take a look in the dev thread?

Only CM or AOKP can give you the closest experience to AOSP. No other ROM comes close enough. The only way that you can get a pure AOSP experience is to hope that Google and Sony partner together to produce another Nexus from the Xperia line.

This one perhaps?

Thank you for your answers everyone.

JJ's Hybrid ROM. Worth to give a try.

I dont want half sense half stock experience. I want full vanilla android gingerbread. No custom themes, launchers, apps and stuff. Just vanilla gingerbread like on nexus s.
So i did further research and found rom called desired aosp, that was exactly what i was looking for. But the problem is that its no longer maintained and it has bluetooth problem. Anyone can recommend something similair to what desired aosp rom had?

If you want as good as it gets Stock Rom, Try RCMix. Comes Super Stock Look, feel, & has the options to change small tweeks for personalized function like a battery percentage, the ability to turn on features like 3d effects, etc.
It also has awesome support by development, &other users.
Don't settle untill you've tryed the RCMix Rom.
I forgot, you wont see it on the front page, so here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261721 or use rom manager to download a rom & find it in there under RCTeam RCMix. The Newest Version is in apparently in the finishing testing stages & should be available soon. These roms are released with minimal issues due to the extensive testing by the devs.

(Request) Port touchwiz camera to aosp roms...

Hey guys I was wondering if its possible to port the camera from stock ROM to aosp. I'm a huge camera user and camera quality for me is important. I did notice that the aosp camera really sucks compared to stock ROM. So is it possible?
Impossible.
yes it is possible but no one is going to do it because it requires other files in conjunction with the camera apk. and even more work to get it running on aosp roms
I was also looking for a way to do this but already knew it was unlikely.

I would agree with OP that the stock camera on TW is the best.
It's fast and seems to be more clear.
However, I don't think that devs are willing to put out extra time on porting something so difficult.

[Q] [Arc S] Which is best mod ROM? Stable, light, fast, secure?

Hi everyone,
I bought an Arc S for 10 days.
t 'a great terminal, but I can not notice that with the stock rom, after a small number of installed and apps moved to SD, the rom has some spots, lags, and the free ram (of his already poor) falls always below 100mb (and I do not use facebook, twitter, or whats'up Timescape real time notification).
I have root my phone, and removed some unused system app. I have used "autostarts" to disable unuseful app that starts at the boot, and using a task killer to free memory. When I use the task killer (FAST REBOOT PRO) I have reached 160 mb free max.
At this point, I would switch to a modified rom because I read that there are stable versions, in which everything works fine (camera / video included).
What do you recommend?
It 's my main phone, and I need that everything works and that does not have bugs.
I use it to take pictures, video, navigate 3G/WiFi, and as a navigator using Navigon.
What rom do you recommend to install for this phone fully functional but more powerful (of course ICS or Jelly Bean)? and Which kernel?

All these threads below are asking the same thing, "What's the best", and the general consensus is that there isn't a "best", it's all about personal preference. And given how many ROMs and kernels there are you'll be hard pushed to find someone that has been able to use them all to give a significant review between the differences.

If you leave as is, it's pretty good. A very little battery drain but if you know how to tweak it, it's even better.

They're both super smooth. I always use PAC

AW: what rom would you recommend?
PAC is one of the best Roms available for the Xperia S in my opinion.
It is super smooth, easily costumizable and stable.
In the new Version it even contains some Sony Features like Walkman and launcher.

[Q] Is CM10 based on JellyBean?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, I'm pretty new to this as well. I'm currently running XTX8. I tried XTX9 but it was very slow and laggy so I reverted back to XTX8. I wanted to try CM9.1 but couldn't get it installed, so just did a restore as it was late at night. It's just I didn't consider CM10 as I thought it was based on JB, and I wanted something that's stable and not still being 'developed' as such.

[Q] Stock theme for Custom roms

Hi, I am new to android world, i used apple before and was quite good at jailbreaking and stuff, but it has a lot less options than android. so i switched to samsung galaxy s3 gt- I9300
I rooted my phone, and made a clockworkmod recovery... i think its a backup.. and then i installed custom roms liquidsmooth, and paranoidandroid. both havinig base firmware as 4.1.2... But then again i switched back to Stock because i dint like the all black and blue stuff in all the custom roms, though i appreciate the options that have been added, its like having a feeling of me controlling my cell rather than the company who made it. but i dont really liked the blue wifi icon and battery icon and all the other radio buttons in blue... so
my question is
1. Can i have the custom rom i.e liquid smooth or any other with the UI as the stock one?
2. or is there a package or a theme that would change the layout of my custom rom to the stock layout ( by layout i mean all the colours and the stuff) but wont affect the options that developers have put in the custom roms.??
I would really appreciate your help.. and really sorry if i said something wrong. coz i am new to android. thnx alot in advance
OK I just need to clarify something.
There are;
Samsung Touchwiz based Custom ROMs (Stock)
AOSP based Custom ROMs (AOKP, CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid etc)
So when you say custom ROM, you don't necessarily mean what you think you mean.
What I *THINK* you are asking is:
I want to use AOSP based custom ROMs but i don't like the look of them. Are there any themes to make AOSP based custom ROMs look like Samsung Touchwiz?
is that correct?
Unfortunately I have not seen any themes that do this. Almost everyone who wants to put a theme on a Samsung TouchWiz ROM, wants it to look like AOSP (which I think is the opposite of what you want?) Most of us dislike the Samsung colours. We feel they look a bit childish. This isn't a judgement of you. I am just explaining why we don't see many themes like what you are asking for.
