Tethering issue. Please help! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I just can't seem to figure this out. When I'm on my laptop or desktop computer, I usually setup wireless wifi hotspot on my Galaxy Nexus. Then I visit sites like newegg and ebay. When I go to a specific listing or product page I get a bunch of image errors and I cannot see the product pictures.
Now mind you there is nothing wrong with my laptop. I even went and did a clean reinstall of windows. On my desktop computer I ran ccleaner and cleaned out a lot of the junk. But the problem persists on both.
My phone is rooted with the latest TWRP recovery and I have factory data reset, wiped system, and dalvik cache. My nexus is currently on a stock rom 4.2.2. Network is Straight Talk with the T-Mobile compatible sim card.
If anyone can try to help me that would be awesome. Thanks.

Since you are rooted have you tried a tethering app from the Play Store? Like Barnacle or Open Garden? Sometimes I have better luck with those that the stock option.
Good luck.

[Q] Android Market Download Problem - Yes another thread!

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I searched and searched on XDA forums and Google forums but nothing relevant to ICS.
Basically, I can't download any apps from the Android Market. Almost every app starts downloading and then just stops after the first few kilobytes and it keeps saying downloading for hours.
This happens on wifi only and it can't be to do with the router because it happens on any wifi network I've tried.
I also get lots of Connection Timed Out errors when using the Market.
I've tried different ROMs, different radios, different Google accounts but nothing seems to help.
It actually happens about 90% of the time. The rest of the time, all works well or otherwise I have to switch to 3G to download apps.
No point suggesting uninstalling the Market Updater, clearing Cache and Data etc. It doesn't work.
Definitely a beer for anyone who can sort this out.
all I can suggest is clearing/wiping everything from every CWM menu, and if a completely fresh ROM and kernel doesn't work - it is a hardware problem and you need a new phone.
Try clearing cache and data. And then uninstalling market. If no work, try a fresh rom install with a wipe before and after.
My grandma beat me down and took my nexus. Sent from a jitterbug with beats by dre.
I think it is the router at work. Tried again at home and it works. What's up with the work router?

Your router at work my be blocking the ports the market uses.

Any way to change the ports the Market uses to get around the work router?

Verizon Nexus issues

For some reason my GN doesn't wan to download any apps from the market over mobile network, 4g or 3g. I can't even download small apps, 30-35kb size. Download starts then it says "downloading" for about 5 min and then message pops up " download failed" or "Error downloading. There is insufficient space on the device". I have 27 GB available and Wifi downloads work perfect.
Any pointers? Should I change some kind of settings?
Open the Menu -> Settings in the marketplace and see if "Update over Wi-Fi only" is turned on.
Try going to settings and apps and delete cache/data for market

I thought it was the ticket but it doesn't change with ""Update over Wi-Fi only" on or off

I can't find this option. If I go under settings in the market and it gives me only "clear search history"

cleared cache, restarted the phone (just in case) but still no go. I just think its strange that wifi has no issues and mobile does. As soon as I connect to wifi it's working properly
any other ideas? This is so freaking frustrating.
Are you able to browse the Internet fine over 3G/4G?
I would do a Factory Reset, if still no go contact VZW for an exchange.
I will try factory reset. Something just weird happened. My phone received and answered automatically a call from *22899. After a few sec it just ended by itself. WTF is going on

Its updating the PRL I believe. Chill.
trying ClockWorkMod (Hold Vol- and Power button at reboot then choose RECOVERY). See it it works
alright progress: now it doesn't say "not enough space", download just simply never goes through and shows "downloading" for 15 min now. Have anyone tried to microwave GN?
Flash stock images..
I have a stock Verizon CDMA GNex, and started running into this after downloading apps without incident for the first couple of weeks after getting the phone. What I noticed is that when I initiate the download of an app from a PC web browser -- it USED to work flawlessly -- and I thought it was pretty cool that I could be on a web browser on any PC, and if logged into my Google account I could initiate a download on my GNex as long as it was online, somewhere. Anyway - this worked fine at first.
Then, after downloading half a dozen or so apps, I started getting the "error downloading" / "insufficient space" error on the device any time I initiated the download from a PC. However - I could still do the download from the App Market if I initiated it from the GNex itself (not the PC). This has been consistent for the last week or so, until I finally got to the point where even starting the download from the GNex wouldn't work.
What fixed things for me (at least temporarily): clearing data and cache for both the App Market app and the Download Manager. No need to reboot, etc. Just clearing the data and cache from the Market and download manager seems to let things work again - from either the device itself or a remote PC running the web version of the Market.
Pretty weird though. When I google this, it appears this is a known issue going back something like 3 months. I'd think it could be pretty easy to address, and have the download manager and the Market clean up after themselves, and also check before attempting a new download and do the clean up then if needed. We shouldn't have to do this manually!

I had the same problem a couple of times. The easiest way to solve it is to run Lucky Patcher and you'll see a toast notification that unused data/odex has been removed. That should solve the problem.
You'll probably have to be rooted though. Not sure if Lucky Patcher works on non-rooted GNs.
Hit 'Thanks' if I helped. Cheers!

[Q] NFL Mobile No Longer in the Android Market?

Not sure if this belongs in Q&A or Themes and Apps but I'm asking a question so here goes...
I had to restore my device last night back to stock, I forgot this would wipe my data, it's been a while. So when I went to reinstall my apps I could no longer find Verizon NFL Mobile in the Market, other Verizon apps show and install fine. So I went to the android market from my PC and tried to push the app to my device but was told my device isn't compatible and was grayed out???
Another strange thing is that it was listed as already installed on my market account from the web browser?? I was eventually able to install it using the Google Wallet trick.
Has it been pulled from the Android Market or is my account screwed up?
Thanks in advance.
noticed this as well, i wiped data to update to another ROM and it was not in Market, had to restore via TiBu
Weird. I have the app, when i try to use it there is a screen to download an update, i select download and it says it's not compatible with my device. WTF!!
There are alot of complaints from nexus owners on their review thread. It will probably get worked out soon.
Sigh, thanks guys. I thought I screwed something up with my restore or market account. I know the season is over but they need to work this crap out.

Problem with WiFi and data

So I have two GS3s one for me and one for my fiance. Both are running Task650s AOKP and Ktoonsez kernel KT747.
I have no problems with mine but my fiances phone randomly stops connecting to the time server and anything with a secure connection, no Play Store, Facebook, etc.
When I attempt to search Google I get like 10 certificate errors. The only thing that fixes it is a full wipe and reinstall. Its fine for a while and then for no reason it does it again.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Also on the last wipe I did I noticed her phone has to internal SD directories. For example my phone has "storage/0/*" hers has "storage/0/0/* . Both have the same folders in them except storage/0 appears to have all the current apps in it the storage/0/0 is like a copy of that directory when I first rooted it.

invalid package file

im getting invalid package file errors when trying to download Instagram from the market. ive researched and done all the suggested fixes i.e. clearing play store data google services framework data, cleared bothe the cache and the dalvik cache and im still getting these errors. my wife and i are both having this problem right now, she is running rooted stock and so am i. does anyone have any ideas? ive even don a full wipe and re flashed my rom and nothing has worked.i really dont care that I cant have it but my wife is getting irritated wich means im getting really annoyed. any help would be greatly appreciated.
if there are no more techniques i can use would someone be kind enough to send me the apk? thanks again.
EDIT: all is well found an apk file.
Mods you can delete this post if you need or want to PROBLEM SOLVED.
I'd like to add a little to this. I have experienced this more recently while trying to update my apps. The more commonly known techniques did not work for me as well. Everything from clearing cache in the app and through recovery, to a lesser known trick using the browser and the play store website.
I did find that when all else failed, I toggled my wifi off and used my data to download/update my apps and did not have the invalid package issue. A technique so simple, I had to chuckle because I flashed and re-flashed multiple roms and restores. I was getting so annoyed at the failure of my app download/upgrades. So this makes me think it might have something to do with google servers and my wifi connection, which is strange since it recently randomly started to happen.
Just a little of my thoughts with this ever annoying issue.
For future reference, if u can't find the apk, there's an app called hideman. Its a VPN app. Just install that, connect to the server thats displaying, go to the market and install the app giving u the error. All those other solutions didn't work for me either but with the hideman app it worked beautifully.

I tried that briefly. I personally don't trust it. Switching on my T-Mobile data worked best for me. Thanks for adding another option though.
I have tried all suggestions except using 3g or 4g. My tablet is wifi only, it does not have cell service. I also tried hideman vpn and still get error. I am trying to get lotus map app. Contacted them they only knew to clear catch and data. Any help would be appreciated.
This started happening on all three phones in my house. So im inclined to believe its a problem with the play store itself
