how to transfer titaniumbackup? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

i made a tb from my droid 4..so how do i transfer that backup to my gnex properly?
i did once thru gdrive, and i only had like 1/4 of my apps, and there were only "?" marks for the backups.
im not trying to transfer system apps tho

Copy & paste the folder?

Adb push the folder?

idk how to adp push..i googled it once, and i dont think that was what i was looking for. and if it involves a pc, i dont have one.
copy and paste was what i did..so no go.
thanks
i wonder if the tb file is to big to copy and paste esp thru google drive or a cloud storage

does the droid 4 have a removable sd card? if so, you can put the Tibu backup folder on the sdcard, and use an sdcard to usb adapter and a usb otg cable to transfer the files to your gnex. but you might have to be rooted to use an otg cable, i can't remember. i don't use mine too often.

Using a computer would make it a non-issue. You're sure there's no way you can access one?

ok thanks fella's
my gf has a laptop but i havent seen her in 2weeks because of my work schedule.
i will try to put my sd card in her laptop and transfer via usb from her laptop to my gnex.
but since these apps have never been installed on my gnex, will tb restore them on the gnex with out any problems?

You should transfer the entire contents of the titanium backup folder into the same directory on the Gnex. It's better if you let the app make one then overwrite it with the actual data.

so download the app, and then let the tb restore the data for that app?
if so, thats sooo time consuming esp with my work schedule. but i will if i have to.
whats up with the dropbox storage option for tb pro? how do i set that up?
basicly that option means, i dont have to have a tb on my sd card what so ever? just have one in dropbox?
cause that would be convienent to have one tb for 2phones, by just keeping one tb in dropbox.

i found my problem. it was saving app data instead of the app..lol
i dont know how or why

Usb storage and sd card

Guys i just bought 16gb sd card.. since the usb storage is almost full..
But after inserting it.. i just realized that the sd card is only making a folder external sd.. and all the installed apps, pics/video taken are still installed to the usb storege...
How can i swap or everything installed at sd card instead of usb storage??
Thanks

Unfortunately there isn't really an elegant way to migrate data to an external SD card. You can manually move music and videos just by connecting to a computer and drag+dropping them into the external sd directory, or by using an Android file manager, whatever floats your boat. Both ways are kind of an annoying hassle.
You can move apps by going into Applications in the Settings menu, or using a tool like Titanium Backup. If you aren't already using Titanium Backup (or something similar), check it out!
Finally, unless you have TONS of apps, you probably won't free up much space by moving the apps to the SD card. Apps all work differently, so see if you can track down particularly bad space hogs and find out if you can move their storage locations.
In the camera click setting and change it from usb storage to external.

Thanks C3jay.. never noticed that setting before.. moving all my USB storage pic to external SD manually now...
but how about those Gameloft data? it takes a really huge space.. and it's in USB Storage right?
btw...
anyone tried this MOD in E4GT?

it swaped the USB Storage with External SD.. I think it's a good idea..

What Am I Doing Wrong With MTP?

OK, I just don't get it. I've tried different PC's/Cables, etc. I have files/folders (mainly CWM, larger stuff) that will NOT drag and drop onto my PC from my GN. It makes no sense. I can view the virtual SD PERFECTLY FINE, but when I drag and drop, nothing happens. When I try to drag and drop certain things onto the virtual SD, half the time I get told that the device can't be found/has been disconnected.
I mean, this is a HUGE issue that I can't just drag and drop my entire SD Card to make a backup and then transfer those contents back on. What am I missing? I've tried connecting as MTP and PTP, makes no difference. Both of my boxes are Win 7. One is 32bit, the other is 64 bit. On top of that, I was just trying to transfer some data and the ENTIRE Virtual SD got deleted (luckily most everything was backed up). This is seriously borked. I've RTFM for days now and I can't find a solution.
Try reinstalling your drivers even if they installed fine.
Tried that. It's like the only solution is to reboot my PC. I'm fine with doing that, it's just general frustration with not understanding MTP. Is this a mass file header issue with data transfer? Something on my computer's end?

Less than 8 gigs of data. FML
That's odd I've always been able to just drag and drop without issues in W7.
Use Airdroid from the market. It works.
also had the same issue and gave up until i discovered Airdroid. It's also free

I second this. I don't have any problems with MTP myself but for most file transfers it's just easier to turn on AirDroid than retrieving my usb cable and hooking it up that way.

MTP Issues

Getting fed up with MTP. My most recent issue was with a file I downloaded from the Internet. I renamed in ES File Explorer the file so I could remember what it was, but when I connected my Galaxy Nexus to my computer to transfer the file, the file showed the old filename in Windows (7) Explorer. I shrugged and tried to transfer it, but it wouldn't work. I copied to file to the DCIM directory and tried PTP, but it didn't show up in Explorer. I finally solved it by renaming the file back to its old name (the name showing in Windows Explorer), which allowed the file to be transferred to my computer.
SD cards had their own problems, but MTP just feels like it's not ready for primetime yet.
Anybody else having MTP issues in general? Is there a good ROM that solves this by letting us mount the sdcard folder? I know there's an ADB command that allows mounting, but I don't know a way of reversing that ability if something goes wrong.
This thread is kind of a question, but also I'm kinda fishing for "I know that feel" comments.
Cannot mount gnex as mass storage.

MTP sucks. It's that simple. Google is hell-bent on making everyone use cloud storage so they can monetize it. Thus no real sdcard, thus no USB mass storage. Google should be ashamed of their pathetic rationalizations for it.
You can use adb, or you can set up your phone as a file server with various server apps from the Playstore.

The SIII has a card slot. So do many other Samsung phones which this is. This is not a phone made by Google. Here is a good explanation: http://www.androidcentral.com/ics-feature-mtp-what-it-why-use-it-and-how-set-it

No, there's a difference. The gnex specifications, eg no SD card, came from Google. The brand of the phone is Google, but manufactured by Samsung. Your reasoning is inapplicable in this particular case. MTP is just junk.
Sometimes, when I copy files like .mkv or others, Windwos 8 explorer just crashes (Using CM10).
I feel that too. MTP doesn't work well. If I download a file to my phone, I'm unable to see this file using mtp until I reboot phone.

I'll probably look into those server apps, or maybe use Google Music. Music is the main thing I transfer back and forth.

[Q] Best way to get my documents off of my Nexus?

I've tried airdroid before but the files half the time end up corrupted. I just want to back up all my cbrs and pdfs I have on my Nexus so I can restore after a rom install. Helium doesn't seem to have that option. Nexus Root Toolkit ignored the folders - I guess it's because it's not in data\media
Cloud storage? MicroUSB SD card? MicroUSB to computer?
I ended up using Solid Explorer and a FTP connection - out of all the options I tried, this was the fastest and the most reliable
What about google drive or dropbox?
The ftp route worked the best and was faster than any other option could be. It was also over 5gbs so space would have been an issue

apps on usb flash drive

Hello,
I have got a nexus 5x and would like to install apps on a flash drive so that i can get extra space. Is there a way to do that?
No way. U can save some space by using otg drive. And moving ur Media to external drive.
I'm assuming you're considering this for games and whatnot. I'm sure that, with root, this is possible. How exactly? Not sure.
As per my knowledge it wont possible. Will try once i receive my otg adapter in couple days. Only chance is have to check whether play store will show the otg drive in default install locations path. Or using some app to move to apk data folder to otg drive ( like we did on old low end devices like htc explore).
